I imagine that it must be a lot harder for an algorithm to sort the colors in a circle like this than to sort a slope by size like in the other viddeos. am i correct or is there not much of a difference?

The colors are just a fancy way of representing numbers in this video!
there is no actual difference, since both the slopes and the circle are just visualisations.
