That talk Negan gave Maggie about regretting not killing all of her friends was a precedent to motivate Maggie killing the last of the Reapers except for Leah, she even looks towards him before making the decision. Beautiful writing
It was a badass moment and it was beautifully written until the “except for Leah”. It makes no sense, he said ALL and she literally makes the same mistake he made and leaves one alive. That is so silly to me
The most epic Mid-Season Premiere in years + Explosive big opening sequence + Great choreography in all the fighting + Maggie takes Negan's advice and klls every single one of them + Camera work is different and it's great + The ending transition is clean. mind blowing ending 1110 looks big and fresh
@@YT_FALLENX I like how Season 11 has the darkest and scariest toned 9 episodes yet. 1106 is the closest to a standalone horror feature movie that we have ever gotten on The Walking Dead. It's so unique. And 1108-1110 are the most big timed and epic episode 8-10 during Angela Kang era for sure.
This episode was incredible! It caught me so off guard because I haven't been in the mood for TWD very much over this break but I'm so happy the pacing is finally getting sped up and we can go straight into the commonwealth. This episode no doubt cracks top 20 episodes all time and it might even be close to top 10.
To be fair, it was the first episode back from the mid season finale so I wouldn’t get your hopes up of it being “sped up”. They always need the first and last episodes to be bangers to hook the audiences.
i think alden's death is gonna change maggie. she spared alden and the saviors but didnt spare those reapers and alden dying after the fact will either make her more merciful or not merciful at all
Loved Alden, shame to see him go. I dunno, I was alright with the way his death happened. Gave it a little more realism, not every death is some heroic act of bravery in battle. He just went out whilst waiting.
I thought this is was way better than the mid season finale. It felt more true to TWD than it has for me recently. I was pissed at what they did with Alden: I liked him..😐
@@MovieFusion I was fine with Alden's death because, by the time Maggie got back to the church he would have already been dead after his wounds from the reaper encounter in episode 3. In other words; Death via Infection.
I watched some a while ago saying someone that worked in the writing of the walking dead explained his death saying the walker in there with him was a reaper, and the reaper there tortured him, broke his legs, that’s why he was seemed crawling instead of walking and as well slit his throat, but Alden was able to kill him I don’t remember how but then they both reanimate, it was a while ago so I don’t remember the whole interview but that’s what I remember
Oh Negan had BETTER come back. They can’t just unceremoniously see him off that way. No way. He’s the best character. Most complex on the moral compass. Also, Maggie is behaving like Negan, took his “advice” and just killed them all.
This episode was soo unexpected, especially with the time jump. Looks like TWD is back to form, in terms of its gritty nature and unexpected story telling. They had upped the anty with the fight choreography as well, especially in the hallway scene
@@clam2854 couldn't agree more. I wonder if the ending to this episode is a foreshadowing of Maggie and Daryl setting up a plan to take down Common Wealth because when Daryl said to Maggie "yeah it does". That seemed like a signal to me. I don't think where going to get to that point of this episode until the end of part 2 of the season.
@@abrimfulofasha that's what i thought but Daryl being undercover twice in the same season would be a bit much, i don't think the writers would try that
I hope the show has an ending similar to the movie the mist, where like there is a huge Civil War that gets most of the group gets killed, and after the battle is over maggie or daryl (whoever wins the battle) trys to kill themself because of what's happens, but the gun doesn't go off, as soon as that happens rick and the crm pull up and see all of the dead and destruction and the show ends with rick looking at either maggie/daryl in disbelief
So Negan has more scenes in the trailer. There are two more scenes with him, both having him near a new character, a black woman (who I think will be important for her to be shown twice in a trailer). And what's interesting is that one of these scenes has these two somewhere in a near dark place, like a basement, and we see Maggie and Hershel there two. So idk what's going on but it's interesting. We also see a new bald character, which brought up the rumor that she might be from the New Frontier, a group from the TWD Telltale games. So now there's a big theory roaming around that Negan might be meeting this group idk. Also, Leah appears too in another teaser trailer for 11B, so we'll see her again 100%. Idk what her role will be but I'm excited. As for the 6 months timejump, if I'm not mistaken, Angela Kang said that it will come in to play down the line but not right away. Maybe after 3 episodes or so. There is a lot to be built in the story first. There are two posibilities for this ending scene. Daryl really has a big feud with Maggie and now he's fully Commonwealth, so that means they need to explain well why Daryl is so in and why Maggie is so against it. Or either, Daryl is again kinda an insider, because he knows something about the Commonwealth and has a plan (which Maggie knows about or not) which also needs time to be explained and built in. Also Maggie is at the hilltop which means we need to see at least one scene with the rebuilding of the place. From what we know about the next episode, it will fill a bit of the gap by having some of them already arrived at the Commonwealth, Pamela Milton will be introduced at a party where a resistance member shows up, some soldiers also will be finding some resistance stuff (clothes or posters) somewhere, Daryl and Rosita will do a bit of military training, and Carol will be doing some snooping around and potentially finding something. So you can already tell this is not enough for entirely filling the 6 months gap. If one character will take Dwight's death from the comic (potentially Magna), we need to build up that too. And let's not forget about the big mistery revolving Eugene and Stephanie (the fake and the real one) which I don't know when it will take place and what role will have. In the trailers we see a poster of the fake Stephanie missing and Eugene locked up somewhere, so it will be big. There's a lot of stuff happening, and I think, for as long as the 6 months gap is filled with big stuff like this, I really don't mind spending more episodes until we get to this ending scene of episode 9. And I really think that the purpose of this scene is just letting the audience know that something is clearly happening and that this arc won't be as boring as it was in the source material.
That’s highly possible but I kinda hope not, I just want to see maybe an episode or two with what happened in between those 6 months. I wanna get the story moving quick
I guarantee that the whole part 2 of season 11 will lead up to the end scene that happened with Daryl at the gates with commonwealth. (Like the next 7 episodes are between the 6 month gap)
I really hope they drag out the Rick meeting them and them finding out he’s alive , I wanna see every characters reaction and all of that , as each character loved Rick for different reasons - like Daryl and carol know him from start - hope it isn’t like a all in one scene
So happy Alden is finally gone. He should of never made it past The Whisperer war. I never liked Alden I thought he was a useless character. Just my opinion
Such a great episode, missed twd so much! I think Darryl is on commonwealths side since ppl are saying Maggie is becoming like a dictator or Darryl is faking his stuff with commonwealth for something else. Either way I can’t wait to see more!
I wonder if the 6 month time jump is either Daryl and Maggie's plan for Daryl to go undercover or they are genuinely at war with each other and Daryl is just done with Maggie being the leader because let's be honest love her or hate her Maggie is a terrible leader
this was a pretty good episode, had cool moments, the one big issue I got with TWD pretty much since the 2nd half of S10, is that there is no sense of dread, no suspense, no real thrill, I am never worried about any of the characters dying, no matter how dire the situation might be I always expect them to make it out alive, before I would always expect somebody to bite the dust, it was just a matter of how and when, now its all too calm and nice, I am just chilling watching these, not on the edge of my seat as before...sure they killed Alden here but lets be honest they set that up a long time ago once they left him there and it wasnt that big of a deal, I expected it to happen, it did something for Maggie's character and her relationship with Negan, because she made that choice before to not go back but proceed which cost Alden and others their lives, so thats something, but again, I just dont feel that big tension and anxiety like it was in the earlier seasons...its still good though :)
I'm a bit disappointed that the fireworks scene was short. It was like a minute and most of it focused on Maggie fighting that reaper. The 11x08 cliffhanger showed Maggie and Negan next to each other and this episode just skips to showing Negan already inside.
Anybody have any bold predictions on Aaron's part 2 storyline? And which males and females hell interact and team up with as well? I know we haven't seen his machine gun scene yet in 11x09 or the scene where he with Lance and the soldiers
It didn't play any importance but why was Aldon's death stupid? lol. he wasn't that big of a character and i don't think most people will remember him in 3 episodes.
He was big enough to the point where his death should have at least some meaning. It didn’t do anything for the story honesty. Felt like a waste. Even side character deaths should have a purpose to the story. If they don’t, I consider them a weak death
