Unbelievable snow performance and in the worst of weather you could imagine. I live in Colorado. Really safe and yes badass engine to really fly down the road.
These are actually great cars, extremely luxurious, very well equipped, the 3.8 L V6 is near bulletproof, and the six speed transmission which is made by Aisin, so Toyota, it is very reliable..
Kind of sad they didnt continue this line in the US. Both 2010 limited. Still going with miner stuff like wheel sensor going now. Other than rusty rotors on day 2, overall decent vehicle especially for the price point. Fits 7 people easily no other vehicle in this class can or still does.
My boss had an 07 one, and I've ridden in it. Oh my gosh, it is comfy inside and on the road. Unfortunately the Santa Fe 7 passenger suv that replaced it, has some features that it eliminated from this like no rear dvd entertainment and only 6 seats in the top limited trim.
Very nice driving car with plenty of hp under the hood. The down side is if you have to work on this engine. it is very time conusuming with hard to reach & remove parts.
I wonder if their accelerometer spit out the wrong information and they just went with it because that's what it said.O don't know of or have ever heard of any v6 SUV that can pull a 100 mph trap speed in the 1/4.Dont get me wrong this Hyundai is quick but not that quick.
Can we be honest: That thing looks nothing like a Lexus, is not, and will never be a Lexus. Not the same buyers either. John should have been making all those comparisons to the Nissan Murano
Lexus buyers don't typically cross-shop Hyundai, and vice versa. Totally agree with you, John is off his rocker for implying they are anything like each other. The Veracruz probably appealed to people who like the Santa Fe but wanted that extra row, for emergencies or to take the neighborhood kids to soccer/hockey practice. To be honest, the Veracruz didn't actually appeal to that many people, hence why it sold poorly, but I think it was a largely undervalued vehicle. I kind of like it - the styling is a bit dated even by 2007 standards, but this Hyundai had everything you'd ever need and performance wasn't terrible either (except for that scary fuel economy number.) I bet many lessons learned on the Veracruz were put to good use in the development of the Hyundai Palisade/Kia Telluride...funny thing about the Koreans, they react quickly and don't often repeat their mistakes.

The rear end aged well.

@@RoadCone411 the Santa Fe of 2007-12 also had a 3rd row option,so the Veracruz was the more premium Midsize Crossover.
