My name is Amanda Turner and I am a Real Estate Agent in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico specializing in buying and selling properties in the Lake Chapala area; home to one of the largest concentrations of American and Canadian expats in the world. I am a permanent resident of Mexico, and I have lived in Ajijic for over 6 years.
I also own a coffee shop in Ajijic Centro, El Gato Feo Café + Roastery, where we roast organic, single-origin coffee beans from Nayarit, Mexico.
Estrellita’s is our Bed and Breakfast, next door to The Lake Chapala Society, one block from Lake Chapala (largest lake in Mexico), the town center and the main street of Colón. El Gato Feo Cafe is located within Estrellita's.

@@TracyCordero very rare that crime happens here. Honest to god truth. Whatever the news is telling US citizens about how dangerous Mexico is, is NOT true.

Thanks Amanda. On the third home, the sq. meters to feet doesn't work on the construction. I would guess that the sq.ft. are correct as it seems larger. Maybe 310 sq. meters of construction and not 237?
Yes, you’re correct. The construction is 237 m2 and 2547 f2.
Hey Amanda, Im retired here in Cuernavaca Morelos Mexico for years now and I have visited Chapala and Ajijic many times. I don't have $400,000 USD cash at the moment so could you suggest a long term rental there. I have also lived in San Miguel de Allende as my mom used to own a house there.

That's awesome! I only work in sales, but I would suggest coming down to visit to see rental potential. They are a dime a dozen here, and very easy to find if you're here on foot checking out the area.

Seriously, I can’t think of one good reason to tie up my capital in a foreign home. Rents in third world countries are incredibly inexpensive.
Millions of people are doing it. Mexico is not third world, in fact, by doing a bit of research, you'll find Mexico is on it's way to the top. Also, if rents are so high, which they're actually not, wouldn't that alone be a good reason to buy in another country?
@@therealamandaturner - I enjoy the ability to travel and live in new countries. In a few months I’ll be traveling to my 43rd country. I’ve decided to permanently retire abroad. It will start my third decade of overseas life.
