- We continue our tour of Lightroom's Library module in this chapter of "Mastering Lightroom," explaining everything you need to know about collections and collection sets. This video also covers our recommended "Favorites/From/Intended For" method to make it easy to find all your photos in the future.
Lightroom's collections are a much better way to organize your photos than the folder structure on your hard drive. They not only save a lot of hard drive space, but also sync your edits automatically to every collection that includes your photo.

I am a very late starter to photography & Lightroom. Very Late, in late my 70's. I stumbled on these tutorials while using my new Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom Classic for Photographers (Classroom in a Book) These tutorials are easy to follow, cover everything I need to learn in a fashion I understand and in manner I can follow at my speed. Absolutely invaluable to me and have excited my need to learn & be adventurous in my new found hobby. Spencer is one of the best tutors I personally have ever had. Great videos! Can you please do a video from start to finish workflow on how to create smart previews and save the Catalogs onto an external hard drive? My internal hard drive is nearly full and I want to figure out a proper way to save them without wasting space in my computer. I tried researching other videos but most of them are a bit confusing, vague, or outdated. I'm no techy but watching you, I'm finally understanding it!
