Rock on, industrial history !! You're doing a great job keeping it alive. I'm happy to get some knowledge seeing how you make everything functional. It's repaired, not rebuilt. One of my favorite quotes . Praying you and you're family are happy and in good health.
I am glad to see you are OK and busy as usual. You did a heck of a good job on that building. It would be interesting to see you repair that shingle cutter. That is going to take a lot of different skills that would be worth watching. I like that steam car engine. That would look great all cleaned up. I remember when you made that bulldozer for your grandson. That tractor will be just as cool to ride on. Thanks for the video and all the best to you and your family.
Well worth rebuilding Jonathan. You Sir, I don't doubt can have the Shingle maker running in no time. Good to see you back on youtube. You put a video up. we will watch it for sure.
Great to hear from ya , JW ! Those are some neat machines . Those shingle mills are quite the contraptions . My Uncle restored a couple of them , fun to watch running . They do last at least 50 years done right . He built his house in his 20's , he's 90 now , & only had to replace a few since it was new . 70 years , & still lives there . Like you , he could fix about anything . Thank you for the update , Jonathan ! Take care .
Jonathan, as an old saying goes, "You're busier than a cat with diarrhea on a concrete slab!". It is so good seeing you doing what you truly love to do.
Glad to hear the updates, next time I drive through NC I'm gonna have to plan a side trip to see your museum!! Love all the stuff you are saving, a machine archeologist and restorer!!!
Just when I start wondering about your activities, you come out with an update. I like the idea of the stem powered carriage.. That would be a great addition to your museum. Stay warm, dry and healthy. ~~~Thanks
I just started watching your channel. I think you are a Time Traveler, I also think Edgar Rice Buroughs was too. Johnathan, you could go back to 1880 and fit right in, like you had never left . If you ever want to listen to a great audio book. Check out The Princess of Mars , no way could Riceburough have wrote this , unless he had time traveled. Thanks for your great work.
Good to see a video from you Jonathan. I always enjoy your content, and usually learn something at the same time. Steam is a fascinating way to drive machinery. Looking forward to the next installment, whenever and whatever.
Good to hear your still doing well, and playing with steam. As per usual your explanation of how they were and should be, and you will be bringing them back to life. Keep up the fantastic work and the history lessons. Love your content and your knowledge to be passing on to us and the next generations!
Dang dude been so long hearing from you I thought I was gonna have to bring my rotator wrecker out from Arizona and lift you up off that fire ant hill and pull you out of that gully. 😂😂😂 Glad to see you are doing good.
Great to have a new video from you. Was getting a bit worried because it had been a while. I love when some obscure piece or part is broken or missing and you just casually say you will "just have to make it". Always an inspiration. Looking forward to more videos.
Thanks for the update, I really enjoy the work you’re doing. We have a few farm shows in Connecticut that I’ve seen the shingle cutters at, amazing machines. I hope all is well with you and your family, have a good one.
I love it I am lookng forward to seeing you fix it with some hot revits. And the Tabbaco Stick Cutter is beautiful too. I want to see both of them run. I would think the tobbacco stick cutter could be used for lots of things. I use those sticks for electric fence around my garden.
It's awesome to hear from you! Thanks for the update. I'd love twee a series on the shingle mill. It looks like it will take a lot to get it going again. I'd also like to see more of the Mason engine.

Sure have missed you. Years ago I worked with a guy who had a similar shingle mill. We roofed a small barn with it. One of the coolest machines there is. It would be bice to see you posting regular. Best regards from Indiana.
YES! welcome back, steam and engine whisperer. you were gone so long, some of us were getting worried, and that was BEFORE the hurricane. you'd probably catch Jay Leno's interest with that early steam car engine.
Hey Johnathan, It is so GOOD to hear from you. It had been so long You had me worried about you. I thought maybe something had happened to you. I located a Lane shingle mill back in 1978 in Alstead NH. It was in the woods under the remains of a small wood mill shack. powered it with a 4-cylinder Wisconsin engine. I brought it to a few old engine shows. traded it fora Jeep FC dump bed truck. should have kept it. It's now in Troy NH, as far as I know
