We're still in absolute shock at just how beautiful the shower turned out, it's truly the most magical sound of the crickets and frogs, especially after dark. Hope you enjoyed the video and make sure you leave a comment on the video so you're entered in the $500 giftcard. Have an amazing week, see you sunday!

I’m 71 but I was luckier. For 40 odd years my bff was a gay man. He and his lover became my sons Uncles. Neither of them lived to see gay marriage and a world where you didn’t have to hide parts of your lives. I watch these and I always wish he were sitting with me.

My husband had just recently come home from Viet Nam, and I had just given birth to our first baby. He was suffering from PTSD ( which wasn’t recognized as a condition yet), and was having a very difficult time adjusting to civilian life. We lived in Virginia on a Marine Corp base, and There happened to be a beautiful lake that was a part of the base property. We decided that we had to get away from civilization, so we headed out to the lake to go camping. When we got to the lake, the entire dock had broken off from the anchors on shore and was floating free.We thought it might be a cool idea to set up camp out on this dock. We erected our tent, set up our barbecuer, and arranged the things that we had brought for food for ourselves and our 2 week old baby. Once we had gotten away from the shore and was out of prying eyes, We spent 2 whole weeks stripping not only our clothes, but the walls that had materialized around our minds and hearts as well. floating around on this crystal clear lake, fishing for dinner, enjoying each other’s company, and bonding as a new little family-just being truly intimate with one another. The days were sunny and warm, the nights were balmy, beautiful with stars that matched the sparkle of thousands of fireflies.
Seeing the net that you have set up reminded me of the net that Ray put up over the opening of our tent We were 20 and 21, and are now in our 70’s; we still talk about that magical camp out as the cornerstone, the beginning, of a sometimes long and difficult process to hope and healing from wounds of that terrible war.
To this day, one of favorite things to do is gather up our two dogs and head to the woods.
Sorry this was so long, but there was no other way to tell the story without telling all the story😏.
PS I just love your channel ♥️

Loved your story Lola. A friend's family owned some acreage up in some forested sm mts/ good sized hills in Arkansas. It would take us a while on red dirt roads to get there from the nearest town. There were 5 or 6 of us that spent over a month doing rustic camping. Nobody lived close so the only sounds we heard were of nature and ourselves. We were next to a good sized creek and a natural spring where we got our water. One of my favorite experiences ever! In fact we did it a second time only this time there was also a sweet little camping trailer his dad had hauled in and also a roofed two sided latrine in a private space. It's pretty special to be doing your business in a comfortable way and still be a part of nature. We floated on the creek, went exploring, cooked over an outdoor fire and just lived simply. It's pretty darn magical! We were late h.s. and 1st yr community college then and I'm around your age, too, Lola. Good memories to think on and share!

Every camping trip is so much fun. When I was a kid, us kids would sleep in the tent, my parents slept in a built on tent on top of the station wagon. One place in Kansas, there were so many frog sounds and other sounds, we were so scared, then it started to rain, so it was the perfect invitation to all climb into the car. When my husband and I bought a camper trailer, we went to Colorado, and the night that it rained and was so magical to hear the rain on the metal roof. I loved it. There were so many hummingbirds that, I hung a feeder. The hummers would fight over it. We were camped by a river, and on the the other side was a hill, where we saw a mama bear and her cub. That was a great week long trip. But Truly every camping trip is so much fun. Even if it’s just for the weekend near home. Love your shower, really magical! ❤️

I met my husband camping with the boy scouts. We took those boys camping every single month for about 8 years. Missouri has some very beautiful camping grounds and has dedicated funds for its conservation program. Since we married 21 years ago we have tent camped all over the United States. We even got interested in reenactment camping from the French Indian War to the revolutionary War. Now we camp and sell historical maps from the period.
We are in our seventies now and treasure all our memories. I love watching you guys. I raised 5 sons and my husband has three. They all went through boyscouts and loved camping. We have wonderful rivers to float and great fishing. Love being and outdoor person. Love watching you guys build a life you love.

Hey! I grew up in a household that enjoyed camping across the western United States and Canada. Those were epic month long trips for us, but my favorite camping memory was when I was about 13-14 -15 and each summer my parents would take our tent camper and a small sailboat and set up camp for us (the children) at the local state park for about 3 weeks. We would invite our friends to come up and stay with us. Only at dinner would one of the parents bring us supper and extra supplies, but other than those visits we were on our own. We were camped on the waterfront of a small lake (no motors on boats) with tall pine trees surround the campsite. For three weeks we did nothing but swim, sail, eat and sleep. Today thinking back to those times, I can't believe that our parents would allow us to stay out there without adult supervision. I imagine they needed the time away from all of us! Times are very different today.
I really do enjoy your channel and of the projects that you do. What great imaginations that you both have. Stay safe guys.

As a family we didn’t do much travelling, but these camping trips were the highlight of our year. To this day, I love going tent camping with my kids. Getting away from everything, enjoying simpler things, being outdoors, campfires and friends/family. Thanks for making me laugh every episode. Best camping memory: When my son was 8 years old I took him camping with my friends and their 7 year old. We hiked to a very rustic cabin on the side of a mountain in New Hampshire, US (operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club). It was a magical experience. The kids learned how to purify water from a small stream nearby and enjoyed scrambling on rocks, gathering sticks for the fire, and just being kids. We played cards late into the night in front of the woodstove. I savored my morning coffee on the front porch while reading and watching the mist rise. My 8 year old is 21 now and my heart is full when he shares his experiences hiking and in the mountains. The magic never ends.

In June of 1963, my family packed up a green Rambler from where we lived in Anchorage Alaska, with my 3 older sibs in the backseat, and my parents and I upfront. We travelled down the old ALCAN Highway to Montana to see family, and then on to Wisconsin where we were settling down. My Dad had an old Army issue 10 person tent and sleeping bags for all of us that he won in a crap game with his infantry buddies when they came home from fighting in the South Pacific in 1945-46. We had the best time camping along the way. We had adventures, great food cooked on a campfire, and even a visit by bears one night. We scared them away making noise, though we were a bit shook-up! Traveling solo with my VW Vanagon, I did kayaked with portage by myself and upon return back to my car, I found a note. A lovely Canadian lady had locked my car and left me a note to tell me about it. I went to see them and thanked her for her efforts. To top it off, she invited me to freshly caught lake perch which I will never forget. Keep in mind, coming from the US, had this happened outside of Canada, my VW Vanagon would have vanished. My best camping memory is from camping under the stars along the Kern River in Central California on a bug free night with just a light sleeping bag and waking up at 3am to see the center of the milky way visible above me. It’s the only time I’ve seen it clearly without a long exposure photo taken someplace very dark. It was a perfect moment of warm summer night air on my face, the sound of the river rapids and a hooting owl, and a swirl of unimaginably beautiful stars overhead. It was my 50th birthday and I will never forget that perfect moment.
I also don’t think I will ever forget that fire-crotch shot of naked Todd ,or Tyler’s perfect moment smile, while showering under the stars. Good things happen in nature under the stars. 😉

Ontario Canada in high school from the USA. Canoeing, portaging, camping. You could drink the water from the lakes and rivers it was so clean and glacier fed. The mosquitos, aggressive but stopped at some point at night and one of my school mates woke me up to sit up on a rock to see the milky way with him. I will never forget that gesture. Camping anywhere else but this place never lived up. It was in a national forest with no planes or anything. Two days in and out if you got hurt so we got first aid and safety instructions before we set off. See the world as it was meant to be. Great thanks to our French-Canadian guides who trained us first then started us off with our guides across what I think was Lake Batchuan? maybe. It was rough canoeing to the other side to get the trip started. I just remember it was one rough windy lake and i swear a couple of guides passed us twice in the same canoe encouraging all of us to dig in! It was so windy you could not even hear the person in the front.

I'll say it again...you two are AMAZING!!! The shower design is unbelievable and having it surrounded by nature is a dream I've had for so long! I absolutely love it! My favorite camping memory...I had been diagnosed with a brain tumor and was about to have surgery and was unsure what the outcome would be. We took our grandson camping in different camp sites over a week and a half before surgery. One was rustic, one VERY rustic lol, another nice but the last one (where we stayed the longest) was a kid centered one called Jellystone! There were so many activities for our grandson and it was SUCH a nice park...we loved it! Thankfully the surgery went well, the tumor benign and all is now well!

You guys are such gems! Ok favorite camping memory:
Hiked 18kms to Kalalau beach on Kauai and set up camp in the most beautiful secluded spot we’ve ever been! After 2 days in paradise, a hurricane level storm hit. We were trapped in our tent for 36 hours straight while rivers of water washed around us. When the storm finally passed, we realized the trail back out was washed away and we were stranded with other campers on the beach! 2 days later we were finally rescued by the coast guard that sent helicopters to take us back to civilization, and just in time as we were running out of food! Scary but amazing memories were made!

My absolute favorite camping memories is a little town called Greer in Arizona. It's small town of 150 residents, has man made lakes, a campground with hot showers, flushing toilets, water/electric hook ups and an outdoor movie theater. Tons of hiking trailers, fishing, horseback riding and a few good eateries. My family and I would spend two weeks every summer and sometimes friends would join us. Each night after dinner, we would sit around the fire talking and made s'mores. The days were filled with fishing, hiking, naps, games, arts and crafts and rare times indoors waiting out a rain storm. No TV, no electronics and no phones.
Outdoor off grid shower was great! That could be a new business for you two. Off grid glamp living consultation.

My favorite camping memory is hitchhiking in central and southern Europe with my brother and staying at camp sites, rest stops or wherever it was more or less legal. We would not have been able to visit so many places without hitchhiking and camping. Nothing bad ever happened to us and people's generosity and kindness blew my mind. On a Sunday (shops closed) in southern France near Cavalaire-sur-Mer, we realized that we only had canned food left but lost our can opener - we met two people who had a can opener and a few honey melons but no knife. We all shared the food and the tools and had the best time. Camping world sounds great! : )

My favorite camping memory was when I was about 7yrs old. My mom and dad decided to take my brother and I camping in the mountains of Colorado. We found a campground on a river and we didn't the first few days fishing, watching the hummingbirds and play games in the evening. One afternoon we went for a hike, and we got up to a point where we could lookout across the mountains for a long distance. A thunderstorm was rolling in and we sat and watched the lightning for probably 20 to 30 minutes. I was so amazed because I had never seen a storm roll in. from such a vantage point. It was exciting a trip was just so amazing. I think that trip is why I still love camping and exploring the outdoors.

My favourite camping memory happened in upstate NY about 20 years ago. It was my women's group. I took a wok, heated a rock, and sit it in the wok to make a night candle and small fire. There were a few cabins and everyone had a buddy except moi. I slept in a tent a few hundred feet from the main house. I was a little concerned because of the night howling outside my tent. I finally fell asleep. In the morning I awoke to a furry something sleeping beside me. It was only then that I realized why I was so warm! As I stirred, the animal left. Later I was told there was a huge dog who lived nearby who often wandered onto the property. I guess that was my buddy for the night. In the morning we bathed in the lake, made an outdoor fire and shared a meal before leaving for Manhattan!

My all time favourite memories are from camping with my Dad growing up. We went to so many places in the Kawartha region of Ontario, always back country, the kind where you sleep in a tent, tie your food to a tree to at least 10 feet off the ground so bears wouldn't bite, and do your business in a hole in the ground on a wooden "thunder box". But my favourite memory of camping would be going in early November when the weather was getting cold. The lake wasn't quite frozen all the way, but the edges of the lake would be icy in the mornings when we woke up. Our favourite spot was Crab Lake in Apsley Ontario. It was only one canoe portage from Wolf lake. The best part was that nobody wanted to camp this time of year because of the cold weather, so we had the whole lake to ourselves. The wildlife felt like they were always only footsteps away, from beavers swimming across the still open water, to the wolves howling at the brilliant glowing moon in the evening, to bald eagles landing on the rocky cliffs beside you. Sitting by the fire only 6 inches away just to stay warm, and getting up in the middle of the night to do some jumping jacks to stop feeling like we were going to freeze to death! Okay, I know this may sound terrible to most people, but it was incredible being out there. The stars were endless and the shooting starts were like fireballs in the sky. There is also a giant hill they call Blueberry hill that you can go up to see endless views of trees and surrounding lakes. No other humans in sight. If all of this experience wasn't complete serenity, peace, stillness, and connection with nature, I don't know what else could be!
