I deleted instagram and desactivated fb. And I realised how much the people I knew were attention seekers/insecure and boderline narcissist. Those traits were always there in real life. But with those social media, it amplized those traits. You also realized who are your true friends and who you actually want to be friends with.
I noticed the same things. I gave my contacts notice I was deleting instagram on my status. 60 or 70 people viewed it by only 3 people sent DMs with contact information ℹ️. I deleted instagram. Months later people are asking where I’ve been
love the point about “who are you and what brings you pure joy?” social media robs so much time and energy from us, we shouldn’t just focus on connecting with others but ourselves too 🙏
When I go out, It's so interesting to see everyones head down.. on the train, walking, sitting, looking at a phone. To their defense, they could be doing something important or mindful but for me, it's more compelling and challenging to be present, hands free, mind open.
I deleted social media, now I have fully focus on my life and self, it's like I have right path to go, and I always have self assessment and discovery, the best decision in my life .
I took a break from social media a while ago and I enjoyed it. Being present was definitely the highlight of my time away. I truly could enjoy my experiences with those that I was with instead of focusing on sharing it with those who were not.
I've been off of social media for about a month-and-a-half now and I can't tell you how much my mental state has improved I also made sure that I wouldn't go back by changing my passwords to passwords that I wouldn't remember and it's been great for the moments when I think of going onto social media but i remind myself why im off of it. Its a great reward to finding actual meaningful things to do in your time that otherwise would be spent mindlessly scrolling looking for my next dopamine hit. I have taken up reading as of late and really reallt enjoy it as a winding down activity before bed. Im actively seeking ways to improve my life a little each day. I wish i had done this five years ago.
That is so awesome! Changing the password is a great way to disconnect, especially if you have urges to scroll. You did it now and that is all that matters! There is so much life to experience. I'm happy you found something to bring you joy such as reading, I enjoy it as well. Thank you for sharing ✨.
I’m also taking a break from social media. And yeees this year I went to a family trip and noticed that I barely touched my phone. So, yeah living in the moment is so important omg. Enjoying the present. Plus I’m 22 so I know how concerning it’s that my generation lives in the internet rather than using it as a luxury/treat… and I was getting SO delusional living in my head looking at what others were up to. Now, when it comes to social media apps (at least the most time consuming ones like tiktok, Twitter and Instagram etc.) I deleted all of them 4 days ago and I quickly forget about using them and then I realize I have free will and just finish my tasks or do something else. I can focus even more and I have plenty of time to think of what I want and what I enjoy. I’m planning on getting them back again, but when I’m sure I’ll have a way healthier mindset. Thank you for this video! I loved it. (As you can see I still have UA-cam only)
It is really easy to get caught up in socials, I am happy to hear at a young age you are making the effort to be present. When off of social media, I realized that i'm not missing anything . UA-cam is a bit different, it can be very useful and helpful. Thank you for sharing & for being here ✨.
@@chillinwithcharity I'm really happy for you. My younger sister was judged harshly before she even reached the age of 1. You look beautiful, as well. Goodluck on your endeavors. I permanently erased all my SM accounts a few weeks ago, and I'm already reaping the benefits.

You can do it, use it for your business by scheduling your content to automatically post. That also frees up time for engagement. Limiting time on the app can also be helpful or deleting from your phone. You can still access social media on a desktop, it will no longer be at your finger tops. I hope this helps.
I thought the same thing, but I decided to focus on email marketing and building outside of social media. Until or if, I choose to tap back in to schedule content for the business on Instagram and Facebook like she mentioned.
@@chillinwithcharity you’re welcome! I feel like we’ve been so programmed to think that if a business isn’t on social media 24/7 and at all, that it won’t succeed in this society. Which then leads to people like you and I prioritizing social media over other things that would normally be at the top of our list, which causes so much unnecessary stress and frustration. Lol, that is a great question. I use it for texting, recording videos of my garden, looking up random information. I am back on social media, however I use it differently . I share pics of my garden and my friends and I send funny and informational content.
Going on 4 years myself and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made!! I’m sooo weirded out by the idea of over sharing everything now…and when people take pics of their food every time I go to eat with them I’m like 🥲 (few left bc I lost a lot of “friends” when they couldn’t get anything from me anyway)
Delete tiktok and Instagram about 2 months ago. Best decision of my life . My mind is so much clear.
Congratulations! Cheers to clarity!
