Congress has clashed with the Supreme Court numerous times throughout history and right now two justices of the Supreme Court (Alito and Thomas) have made it quite clear that there needs to be higher ethical standards that apply because they clearly don't want to do so themselves.

But the fact that he has been receiving significant financial gifts while routinely failing to disclose them as legally required is not something I will admire nor respect. If you look at the financial disclosures of Thomas vs. all the other justices his if off the chart to the point that he look like he has been bought and paid for. There are also cases that he clearly and reasonably should have recused himself from based on the Code of Conduct for United States Judges, and he didn't. Alito, on the other hand, has recently had serious issues regarding his wife's flying of flags and his dishonest response regarding the initial reporting of it. Based on the Code of Conduct for United States Judges there are cases he clearly should have recused himself from because he appears to not have been impartial as he was supposed to be, but instead heavily biased. He also made clear that he wants to use his position as a Justice to force his religious views on the rest of us, and that isn't ethical at all. See, what you don't understand is that none of what am I saying has anything to do with whether I agree with their decisions or not, but the ethics and the lack of it they have shown as Justices of the Supreme Court. That is why you don't see me naming other justices such as Barrett, Roberts, Gorsuch, Kagan, Sotomayor, Kavanaugh, and Jackson.
