This track has some serious jungle roots, in my opinion - and that's all it is. Instead of trivialising about what genre is, just think 'is it sick?'. The answer is clearly yes, i think that's all you need to worry about at the end of the day.
I love when people try to argue about DnB and "drumstep". Drumstep isn't really a genre, the term "drumstep" only been coined not that long ago. All "drumstep" is, is half time DnB, tempo is still at 174bpm (or whatever bpm the artist chooses), the percussion is still driving to keep it up with the DnB tempo it's only the drum arrangement that's been arrange to a half time structure. It's just DnB, simple as that to be honest. DnB has been going on for decades and half time patterns where always common in tracks to give it more character and break the pattern up as to keep the listener interested.
Its not being a smart ass. It is called professionalism. Being serious about the job you love doing requires knowledge, research, and dedication to be present.
there's a channel for Drum and Bass and another one for Dubstep. Where to upload the Drumstep songs? Well, if you like Drumstep you would say here, but if you don't you would prefer in the Dustep channel. I don't like it, but I respect people who does so welcome wherever.
Today everything went so smooth and all was piecefully clear, silent... but suddenly I´ve played this track through the offices and all things blown up, peoples head blown up, printer blown up, ...toilets also my gooosh..it was like harlem shake for the first time xD have a nice day to all bassliners !!! :)♫♪♥☺
I doubt Drumsound & Bassline Smith are sitting at home and thinking "holy fuck, we have to decide the exact, genre-specific label our music should have!" They just make the fucking music, the label it has does not matter.
also everyone needs to stop generalizing music by its bpm i made a dub track at 173.2 bpm sounds the same as 140 it just depends on the percussion arrangement!
I'm sick of people arguing over the genre of the song, like who gives two shits what genre it is? either you like the song or not, and if you don't like it, don't listen to it, simple, genre doesn't mean shit, it's whether you like it or not that matters.
This is Drumstep. It is also at 175BPM, not 170. I'm a producer, I make Dubstep and Drumstep. Drumstep is the halved tempo of Drum and Bass. Have a nice day.
Ok for something easier for untrained ears to discern, check out Dephzac - Neo Arch (won't let me post links) It's a dubstep flow in the beginning that drops into dnb after the buildup. It remains the same 175 BPM throughout the song despite the obvious change in tempo from before to after.
dude the tempo only doesn't matter if the bpm is doubled or halved, this is drumstep, the tempo of drum n bass and the dubstep beat arrangement and is definately faster than dubstep
Drum and bass is a very broad genre.. drumstep is one of its sub genres.... so people its the same? why is i check out songs and there are trolls haven a rage cause someone thinks they're right? we are here for music not trolls
Yes there is, as pointed out a few times now this is drumstep. Drumstep is a subgenre of drum and bass, ergo it is drum and bass.

there's a cymbal from 0:00 which, which is part of a drum kit. and when people say drums, they are using it as a shortened version of drum kit.

I'm sick of people arguing over the genre of the song, like who gives two shits what genre it is? either you like the song or not, and if you don't like it, don't listen to it, simple, genre doesn't mean shit, it's whether you like it or not that matters.

Dephzac - Neo Arch (won't let me post links)
It's a dubstep flow in the beginning that drops into dnb after the buildup. It remains the same 175 BPM throughout the song despite the obvious change in tempo from before to after.

Yeah I agree, I was just telling that guy it would go on UKFM! To be honest, I find it difficult to identify a drumstep tune aha
dude the tempo only doesn't matter if the bpm is doubled or halved, this is drumstep, the tempo of drum n bass and the dubstep beat arrangement and is definately faster than dubstep
#I.Love.Drumsound & Bassline Smith
Drum and bass is a very broad genre.. drumstep is one of its sub genres.... so people its the same? why is i check out songs and there are trolls haven a rage cause someone thinks they're right? we are here for music not trolls

The tune is all right. Nothing better. Hear it in a rave though, and shiiiiit, nothing better!
Drumstep is a subgenre of DnB...
UKF DRUM and BASS??? :O
cause the bpm means its easier to mix, ofc there some dnb that stay around the 155-160 mark, normally old skool jungle/dnb. try atlantis - ltj bukem
