Honestly I think you guys nailed it, timed qualifying makes sense. You’re not getting a novice on a stooge race board and have them blown away the competition. Skill is definitely involved and you need to have some to get around the track on top.
I love the idea of race what you brought. I know a few people that qualified on a board last year and swapped to another one during the races. Kinda sucks when you hop on a more powerful board and can just out pace someone in a straight away with more power even though their QT wasn’t that fast.
The digital track timer is fantastic! Awesome update.
Getting rid of the rolling start also a good idea! Last year people didn’t know how to stay in line and would cut in front or just start pushing one side and closing that person out before the flag was dropped.
I’m mean personally I know that I’ll never be in pro or probably even advanced or sportsman, I don’t train every weekend or race ever day. But I love coming to Esk8con and seeing what I can do. I look forward to pushing myself beyond my own limits! See you all in a few months.

Fitst off i want to day "THANK YOU SOO MUCH" the amount of efforts it take to bring us all together for the greates event for eskate in the planet! Sounds like alot but is how most of us see it. Great thoughts on the racing. You guys have really spent some time establishing a great format.
I feel like being lapped is the only way I would win..it wasnt me last year..lol
Fastest speed last year on the main straight was Mario with 38. He hit 35 on the back straight. Had recorded this with Racechrono but the comment with link got hidden by youtube.
Figured someone would have the right answer!
Rules seem solid, the main problem is usually rules are only for that one person so don’t feel bad if they’re too strict. I really like Jacob’s idea for reversing pole position the second race! The only feedback I have is racing seems too expensive for an amateur like me, so maybe make the bottom class or two have little to no prize, it’s basically just for fun.
Also, even before you said it, I also thought raffle tickets was a good motivator for qualifying times. Maybe just say you get no tickets for amateur, 10 tickets if you make it into the second class, 20 tickets for advance and 30 tickets for pro. Much easier to give it up that way as well?
Please make it possible to use alias name during the entire race/qualifying time.🙌

Out of curiousity, is there a sponsorship program for Mboards and Onsra like there are sponsors for other racing leagues?
When are the group rides? Will there be another "red rocks" group ride like last year?
There should be one other rule that’s more of a “just in case there’s an idiot out there”: do not connect to or modify ESC settings for a board you are not authorized to access. I might even consider unplugging my Bluetooth module during the event.
This wouldn’t be a bad idea, there will be a lot of racers adjusting things, could easily happen on accident.
Do t you know that there Is A "Pairing" setting on your vesc that eliminates this possibility? If you activate this non other than your used device will be able to conect to your board. Go to "app Config" and under General scropl down and activate it and you will have piece of mind know wint no one can hack your esc. This I worried about Long ago. Sheers!
Or we tell everyone to name the esc via vesc tool. That way when someone gets in they can see there board and not guess. Now if someone uses a different phone they cant tell cause the name saves thru the device used. But thats they way around that. Ive got all my esc’s named. Rhonda sr,rhonda jr and rhonda the thirrd 😂
@@SinCityEsk8 naming is cool and most us do it but this don't stop one from tapping into your vesc, Pairing your vesc is the only way to block any one from hacking your sistem. If it's not from your own phone it won't conect no matter how hard you try. I was very concerned about this before but this is the only way I know best.

Hey Mike, what timing system did you decide to go with? I was looking at "Race Result" timing system to start a local PEV racing event but i would rather get the same system as you so that the we can stay consistent for sk8.
If there is a tie in points after 2 heats, the decider will be whoever had the faster QT. That is a big incentive to NOT sandbag and try to get the best QT for all racers.
How about Heat race laptimes cannot appreciably beat quali lap time?
top half of qualifies get $15 mboards credit as an incentive?
