GHANAIAN WAAKYE STEW MADE EASY | step by step tutorial

  • Waakye is a Ghanaian classic and there is no full waakye experience without waakye stew. So this recipe is made easy for you to achieve your own waakye stew at home.
    INGREDIENTS:
    300gr goat meat
    150/200gr cow skin (wele/Kpomo)
    10/12 medium size tomatoes
    3 whole baby red fishes (use 2 if you have the Medium or bigger ones)
    4 medium size onion
    3 thumbs of ginger
    3 cloves garlic
    2 scotch bonnet pepper (adjust according to preference)
    200 gr tomatoes paste
    Curry
    Aniseed
    1 tablespoon Black pepper (2 tablespoon if powdered)
    1 teaspoon cloves
    Half glass vegetable oil
    Salt to taste
    2 stock cubes

    I tried this waakye stew today and it was so delicious. I have tried others that never came out right because they were long and complicated, yours was simple and quick and came out perfect. Will stick to it till thy kingdom come 😁😁😂

    Please what is Gniseed and where can I get it from??

      Aniseed can be found where you find your spices at the supermarket. If you are in Ghana or go to a Ghanaian market it’s also called nkitinkiti ( hope I got the spelling right 😅)

    is it necessary to use oil to fry the stew? can i skip that step, it’s too unhealthy for me

    Please is the black pepper same as black seed pepper?
