    I love the different colours of Autumn where you are. Your bride should have taken the aluminium wires home and could make a fantastic sculpture from it! I would ask you to post it to me but I don't think that's a good idea lol . Lovely day in a beautiful setting

    I wonder if there is a pond or small lake near this site? I stayed in North Alabama at a Red Cross Camp back in the 1960's that looked very similar to that site. But still wonder what this used to be? But still, even if you did not find a treasure, you found a beautiful spot, nature, and I bet you money, a stunning place to see in the spring and the summer.

    Interesting spot, you have some really nice locations to hunt, here in NE Florida, it's just dense woods and more dense woods, unless your looking for pop tops, then you hit the beach.
    Those old Spanish guys loved the woods.

    That is such a fascinating place. You’d think the state would clean it up and make free access park out of it. What is the history of that place?

    Those rocks are awesome and the sidewalks are interesting ..I wonder how they got the concrete trucks in there ..strange ..it would have been a fun ride in a 9 yard concrete mixer..I drove one before retiring ..fun..those cameras demand a 6 finger hand ,you know ?

    Your best bet for finding coins would probably be around the foundations. That is where they had vending machines and the like. Not much chance people would be leaving money in the rocks, unless they were treating something like a wishing well. If you could locate the old swimming hole,you ought to try searching around it as I think it's likely people would lose things sitting down and getting up there. The swimming area was a round, man-made pond, might be filled in now but you ought to be able to locate it.

      I live in Central AL but have never heard of this place. Can you tell me where it is and if it'd be a safe hike for a mom with young ones please? Parts looked like Dismal's but not sure.

    • @ExploringAlabama
      @ExploringAlabama  4 роки тому +3

      No. I would not take young kids there and I would not go without another adult and at least one of you with a gun. May sound offensive to those who don't like guns (they did and still do keep us a free country) but this place is out in the middle of nowhere, literally. Kids could fall in the cracks and you could not get them out. The small pebble crossings are not safe.
      If you wanna google it, it's eight acre rock, or bama rock garden. I don't know you are your kids, so I may be wrong. But I'm assuming since you ask you want the truth. Plenty of places for someone to hide if they were waiting for someone to walk in

      @@ExploringAlabama I agree with you. This place was not set up under modern safety standards anyway, it's had years of decay with no maintenance. And it's definitely a long way from any help if anything went wrong. From your videos it's pretty much gone back to its natural state. No place for a woman with young children and nobody else around. I don't recall any snakes when my group went as kids, but now that it's settled down I would think they will be around in warmer weather.

      Anywhere north Alabama. But Nocoloolla Falls (not the correct spelling I don't think) is a place that looks the exact same. In Gadsden Alabama. Beautiful place. Has a campground and RV park. Busy place in the summer. Beautiful place in the fall. Hope this helps. Oh and they have a web site.
