I just watched your video and as a railroad modeler of 30 years and sometimes slot car racer, all I can say is "WOW". The technique for your base/support is right on and the scenery is superb. Only in my dreams..................
I remember being younger and racing these at a hobby shop called "Great Traditions". It was almost too good to be true that something so incredible could be in a small town full of bland stores when you're a little kid. My father brought me there and purchased both of us 2 Dodge Vipers ACR's. I never had so much fun. I'd love to see this thing in person. Just incredible work.
Carlos Alvim 2 minutes ago Real nice Job, with attention to details, qhich ad quality and beauty to the track ! What a pleasure it must be to race in your dream circuit! Congratulations!
+Dave Inker very kind of you to say Dave. Yes you should find some space :-) Seriously tho, video doesn't do this justice and i'm in the process of finishing of the extension. Take a look at my other videos of this track.
Hi. Thankyou. Not to be biased but the scenery is better in the flesh. Lots of little details everywhere. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you the title of the music. It was a UA-cam option.
Hi Pete. Many thanks for your comments. If you look at my channel i have 5 videos of this track, before and after i added the extension to it. Please take a look :))
+jazzyjerome the size of the track in the video was 10ft along the back, x 8ft other way and 5ft deep. Currently being extended. I'm adding another 7ftx5ft board so overall length will be 17ft.
jazzyjerome once complete I will definitely be posting another video. I currently have 2 videos up and running of the completed track prior to the extension . Please take a look :)
Whaouuu ! It's very beautifull ! How many time for all ? How many time for each scene ? I'm very found of your work ! I'm starting something like this, not as big as yours but big enough for me !😬😀👍👍 Guillaume G.
Thankyou for your kind words. Time spent around 2 years of spare time. It was not a race to build but a hobby. Now i shall soon start a business building these tracks along with model railways
Excellent job! One question.... what are the dimensions of the 3 sections that make up this layout? Many thanks for sharing and looking forward to future developments.
Hi sealevel This track has just been extended and a new short video put up. The original track shown here was 10ft long x 8ft at 1 end reducing down to 5ft. Overall its now 17ft long but can be converted back to the original plan if required.

@@babu7141 hi. The rocks were all cast in moulds. Occasionally broken and moulded before painting. If you look at my other vids of this track you'll see a huge wall of rock.
Amazing track and scenery. Did you apply copper tape over the rails? I've had difficulties getting conductivity through the adhesive - what was your approach?
Hi. Thank you. The track was sprayed simply with a grey primer for use on metal. Any manufacturer will do and most grey primers are roughly the same shade. Mask off the rails first and immediately remove after.
Thanks Dan. This took a couple of years of just spare time and cost was well over a £1000 in parts alone, no cars. If i were to build this today working on it full time then 4-6 weeks without the extension i added to it in my other videos. Thanks again
@@junk52 thanks for the reply! I'm looking to take my track to a contoured table; any advice for first-timers - specifically on acceptable rise/run? I'm using a scalextric box kit + extensions..
plywood for the base and then various on the shelf modelling materials sourced from the Internet. When the extension for it is complete, the material cost will be around a staggering £2500 . It's deceptive at the cost but the smaller details can cost more than the larger items.
Hi Nismo I am new to model building is there anyway I could contact you in regard to how to go about this and design etc ,Iam in South Africa and pretty hard to source materials so will need to import everything ,hope I hear back from you, I think you build was amazing
Alas yes. That's the problem with large tracks. I actually didn't think that the horse shoe would be so bad to retrieve but I was soon proved wrong Haha. For me the track was all about the build. The next track will be a routed track and not scalextric
Simon Turton thankyou Simon. I replied to your text message. It amazes everyone who sees this and looks better in the flesh but time to move it on and build another :)
Dagmar Grzenkowicz Hi. I covered the rails first with masking tape. Then sprayed the track with car primer paint before removing the tape and applying copper tape, tho I'm not convinced the tape was worth the effort. Thankyou for asking
Hi. Thank you for your kind comments. No payment necessary but anyone within reason is welcome to race on it once I've finished the extension of it, which is imminent :)
John Wilson thankyou for your comment John. I've just extended this layout, and will put up a video soon. I've tried to the best of my abilities to make as realistic as possible. Not too many people attempt that. Believe it or not it is still quite good for racing. More challenging.
Spectacular…amazing attention to detail and skill
Fantastic track, beautiful and detailed. Very inspirational :-)
Thankyou very much
Really great work . lots of thought went into that landscape. Awesome.
This may be the greatest thing ive ever seen....... So much detail and effort gone into it, hats off to you mate
Thankyou so much for that comment. It means a lot.

Outstanding!! You did a great job with realistic landscape and the layout of the track compliments it all.

Music is by Arteres Buipui and its title is "The Peace Song".

Lol thanks Dan 👍

Very good 👍
brilliant mate well done
this is frickin awesome mate!
Thanks Keir. I have 2 videos which show the layout better.

Jimmy Louis hi Jimmy. I do have a total of 5 videos of this track to which have running cars.

Unbelievable!
Your rocks look so life like!
Out of interest, how did you paint the track?
Hi. Many thanks. It was simply, mask the rails and spray paint grey car primer. I did this insitu .

Really love this build, it how did you pin the track to the board?
This is an incredible undertaking. What kind of paint did you use on the tracks? Thanks.
Ismail Farid hi. The track was painted with car grey primer. The lanes were masked off, track sprayed, masking removed and copper tape applied.
hi - i love this. Could you share where you bought the material from?
You have done an amazing job how many hours did it take?
GatesheadGaming hi. Not hours but years of spare time :)
I would love to build a track of this calibre using Scalextric Digital
Amazing track and scenery. Did you apply copper tape over the rails? I've had difficulties getting conductivity through the adhesive - what was your approach?
did you use a spray can to paint the track? what brand and color did you use, it looks great!
Hi. Thank you.
The track was sprayed simply with a grey primer for use on metal. Any manufacturer will do and most grey primers are roughly the same shade. Mask off the rails first and immediately remove after.
Thanks!!!
I'm thinking about building a track using "Classic" Scalextric track. I have no interest in the "digital" style track setups.
@@LeftyFenderJazz very best wishes Jack. Personally I think digital is overrated. The overtaking is just an expensive gimmick imo

not very good. could be better. the scenery could be more realistic and the track layout does not allow decent racing
