    I just watched your video and as a railroad modeler of 30 years and sometimes slot car racer, all I can say is "WOW". The technique for your base/support is right on and the scenery is superb. Only in my dreams..................

    I remember being younger and racing these at a hobby shop called "Great Traditions". It was almost too good to be true that something so incredible could be in a small town full of bland stores when you're a little kid. My father brought me there and purchased both of us 2 Dodge Vipers ACR's. I never had so much fun.
    I'd love to see this thing in person. Just incredible work.

      Hi. Thankyou. Not to be biased but the scenery is better in the flesh. Lots of little details everywhere.
      Unfortunately I couldn't tell you the title of the music. It was a UA-cam option.

      +jazzyjerome the size of the track in the video was 10ft along the back, x 8ft other way and 5ft deep.
      Currently being extended. I'm adding another 7ftx5ft board so overall length will be 17ft.

      Thankyou for your kind words. Time spent around 2 years of spare time. It was not a race to build but a hobby. Now i shall soon start a business building these tracks along with model railways

      Hi sealevel
      This track has just been extended and a new short video put up.
      The original track shown here was 10ft long x 8ft at 1 end reducing down to 5ft.
      Overall its now 17ft long but can be converted back to the original plan if required.

      Hi. Many thanks. It was simply, mask the rails and spray paint grey car primer. I did this insitu .

      @@babu7141 hi. The rocks were all cast in moulds. Occasionally broken and moulded before painting.
      If you look at my other vids of this track you'll see a huge wall of rock.

      Ismail Farid hi. The track was painted with car grey primer. The lanes were masked off, track sprayed, masking removed and copper tape applied.

    Amazing track and scenery. Did you apply copper tape over the rails? I've had difficulties getting conductivity through the adhesive - what was your approach?

    did you use a spray can to paint the track? what brand and color did you use, it looks great!

      Hi. Thank you.
      The track was sprayed simply with a grey primer for use on metal. Any manufacturer will do and most grey primers are roughly the same shade. Mask off the rails first and immediately remove after.

      Thanks Dan. This took a couple of years of just spare time and cost was well over a £1000 in parts alone, no cars.
      If i were to build this today working on it full time then 4-6 weeks without the extension i added to it in my other videos.

      plywood for the base and then various on the shelf modelling materials sourced from the Internet.
      When the extension for it is complete, the material cost will be around a staggering £2500 . It's deceptive at the cost but the smaller details can cost more than the larger items.

    Fetching a car that has deleted or spun out in that horse shoe tunnel has to be a pain in the arse!

      Alas yes. That's the problem with large tracks. I actually didn't think that the horse shoe would be so bad to retrieve but I was soon proved wrong Haha.
      For me the track was all about the build. The next track will be a routed track and not scalextric

      Dagmar Grzenkowicz Hi. I covered the rails first with masking tape. Then sprayed the track with car primer paint before removing the tape and applying copper tape, tho I'm not convinced the tape was worth the effort.

      I've just extended this layout, and will put up a video soon.
      I've tried to the best of my abilities to make as realistic as possible. Not too many people attempt that. Believe it or not it is still quite good for racing. More challenging.
