I love to watch Derek He’s so knowledgeable, a wealth of information Vehicles are great too, but it’s the presentation that carries the day Thanks Derek
Fantastic, thanks Derek really enjoy these little extras and behind the scenes videos yourself and the rest of the team are making especially considering how busy you all are 👍🏻.
I worked for Royal Mail in the leyland days (terrier, mastiff, chieftain) and one day a ford cargo turned up this was before Iveco got their hands on it and we were absolutely blown away by how modern and high quality it was and it drove like a dream everybody wanted it! Royal Mail used to buy the odd truck from different manufacturers so it would keep leyland on its toes to give good discounts!😊
Obviously you didn't have any real lorry drivers employed there because Cargo's were absolutely shit even when they were new. Absolute junk. Youd think the doors were falling off anytime you were on a rough road. The only thing they had going for them was the L10 Cummins engine and they were cheep, and rightly so. Scrap.
Good picks Derek i totally agree with you about the ford cargo against the ford d series that wagon was a complete shed unfortunately when I passed my hgv test in 1987 that was the first tipper wagon I drove for about 2 years absolute shed it was 😢
Kay’s or Great Universal Stores used to run Ford Cargos on their trunk services. Lightly laden with single axle trailers and no speed limiters the night trunk lads used to cover the miles and get well paid. Worcester - Wembley - Manchester - Worcester was a regular run for them. An old mate, the late Joke Hopkins did this trip often. One of then managed to knock over a fallow deer one night. He got in on the catwalk and and slipped by the security in the Bromyard Rd site Worcester. He dumped it in his pickup truck and off to his freezer. Happy miles 😂
If I had to pick three, I'd go for the Volvo P1800S (6:46), The Cobra kit car (0:28) and the Austin A35 Van (6:09). Maybe the Beach Buggy .... (also 6:09).
Bentley T1 is a beautiful car they are so much better than the rolls Royce shadow 1 and T2 shadow 2 they seem to be more looked after than the rolls for some reason there rare cars great car and rare to find them now days.

The cargo is a museum piece
There used to be a pub on the Slough Trading Estate called The New Peerless.
Probably built on the old site of the factory.
Nice video and very interesting to hear about these vehicles.
Thanks Derek. Enjoyed that
Just love this family
I'll take anything with the Spirit of Ecstasy leading the way. Cheers from California. 😊
The DS you walked past was much more space age
Always a few of these at the triumph meetings!

That is a stunning looking Bentley 😍 again the colour is beautiful 😊
What happened to the Bond Equipe? You mentioned it at the beginning and then never referred to it again?
Ah, the Bond Equip. The car built to fit around Triumph Herald doors.

Derick sort the sound out us old blokes can't hear good lots
About time that old bloke retires 😮
Is that your contribution? To talk tripe and insult people.
What horrible comment to make
You total tosser, can’t be too many John R Gray’s around 🧐
Feel free to stop following, really no need to be so rude. Sick of people making comments like this.
Well " that old bloke" has spent a lifetime in the business and his knowledge of the vehicles is unsurpassed ,typical keyboard warrior comment.
