I am delighted to see you take on this game, which is one I like very much for many of the same reasons you point out. For a one-map, relatively fast playing and relatively rules light treatment of a complicated subject, I think it brings in a remarkable amount of historical flavor and decision-making. I do have to get my hands on Ardennes '44 as well, and I'm extremely excited about Holland '44, which should hit P500 this year.
Fantastic game. Unfortunatly unplayable when, like me, the fate doesn't allow you to make more than 3 on the die rolls. I stopped wargaming last year after the initial landing phase of this game. Paradrops were bloody: The 82 airborne was 3 cadre units, the 101 all reduced side. 6 rolls, not more than 3 on the die... 12 inf steps, 4 tank steps assault Omaha. After my rolls, with a 1 of course for EACH beach (assault faillure, take a step loss and roll again), only 6 inf and 2 tank steps survived. It's more than "bloody Omaha"... Uk landings were the same. My opponent didn't even showed some satisfaction. He was as disgusted as me by such bad luck. He proposed me to set up and restart. I just told him I prefer to watch a movie or go to the pub, and that wargame was over for me, after 25 years of bad luck, my passion for games is destroyed. 'I'm going to burn it, all those waste of time, Ukraine 43, Drive on Paris, Third Reich, Russian Campaign... I'm going to burn it like I burn my past of the unluckiest wargamer in History.
I love watching your videos, dude.
You basically taught me Panzer, which I learned and played during the last lockdown. Thanks for this.

My "first" wargame!
Congrats, welcome to a hobby that drags you in!
