Alas!!! Xu Xian is stepping up for love. It was hard to watch the first two movies of the trilogy and how men failed both Blanca and Verta. May this be the redemption and ending everyone deserves.

Tbh there are a ton of likeable villains out there... Magneto, Joker, Anakin, Klaus (TVD), Lestat de Lioncourt, etc Sometimes it's easier to be likeable as a villain as opposed to a hero

The general story of Blanca got unfairly sealed away I know most of it and plus I personally prefer the original plot with the Evil Turtle disguise as Fa Hai rather than the later interpretation.

Why im curious about baoqing's past you may ask? In White snake 2/Green snake some might have called it, baoqing definitely wants to get revenge on someone. My best theory is Baoqing is like Blanca, but she is like the "dark version" of her. Nonetheless, Im intrigue to watch the new movie and will wait for upcoming movies of this show.
