Watching this over a decade later. What a dope battle. Reeps, a battler in his prime battling an EPIC beatboxer who wasnt a battler, but amazing at what he does. What a unique time to be apart of the scene. People now a days dont appreciate what this was, and they both performed well.
Two very different styles. Reeps one is faster and has epic bass sounds, and Eklips is slower with a lot of scratches and melodies. I'd class this as a draw!! Reeps one can't do the melodies and the scratching that Eklips can and Eklips can't do the faster drum and bass that Reeps one can. However if they battled again now in 2014 Reeps one would destroy him.
The best beatbox battle of all time, tbh. Spiritually, the transition from old school to new school, from Eklips' hip hop roots with rapping and show offs, to Reeps' technicalities and standards that would be expanded to the current beatbox scene. Reeps is ahead of his time for more than 10 years, and Eklips' presence is an example that current beatboxers should inspire themselves to. The fact that Eklips' never had a battle in his life discarding this one, yet perfoming so amazingly is beyond me, his scratch plays are absurd and he's filled with crazy ideas. Can't say Reeps was on his prime here, because he's constantly reinventing himself (currently, he is on a different level of quality), but he was already a shining star here, 2 times UK Champs and a beast. The quality of the rounds, the energy, the context, the enjoyment, everything is perfect, simply perfect. Reeps went to become the best beatboxer of all time and Eklips certainly passed torch to the ideal man for a new era that was brought by Alem, Babeli and others.
I remember when this came out. How there was a lil beef happening. Cover beatboxing vs new style mixing. The transition into what we have now is insane. Ive been out of the scene for many years but slowly coming back and the new school now.. is absolutely monstrous. Respect to all OG's of the scene that pushed it forward.
Eklips is a great showman and he's very clean, fast, and consistent, but Reeps just presents a control over his palate, both musically and mouth-wise, that Eklips just doesn't seem to have. Overall, it was very close to me.
Oh, and while Eklips has good control over the simulation of things essential to hip-hop, including pitch-changing and turntable scratching, Reeps has incredible control over his tempo and sound even when every 1/16 beat has two or even three different sounds going on in it.
Its knowledge of the timea and stlyes that make this epic for both. Reeps was in his prime as a seasoned battler, EKLIPS never battled and was known for his covers and unique instrument sounds. Cant expect EKLIPS to win a battle, but for those apart of the scene at this time, it was amazing to witness them both and appreciate EKLIPS even stepping into this realm. Its not something he does, and you gotta show love for the attempt and battle showcase. Eklips sax sound has still to this day not been topped. One day someone will circle back and practice it, but still nobody has yet to replicate that sound and implememt it into their routine. Its like a forgotten art. I hope someone new implements it into their arsenal, because its fire. I agree, Reeps won the battle, but thats not the point of this video. It was an amazing thing to watch if you were around back then.
Please people stop making excuses. This is a beatbox battle, not a singing and dancing competition, which is what eklips seems to do a lot of, with the whole spinning and singing, doesn't go well in a battle. It doesn't matter what age you are or where you come from, a battle is about out doing your opponent, with technical and new things that's never been heard before. They are both people who make sounds with their mouths, I don't care if eklips is a showman, he should have put that sort of stuff away and showed us that he can battle, by doing things that we have never heard before. Reeps one clearly delivered a improvised performance that was nothing to do with stuff known or made by others, yes he did the whole touch it bring it babe, but that was to say, this guy is a cover artist, then again he comes back and rips it out of him, with an even better performance of the song then carries on again doing his own stuff. The fact that eklips needs covers to win does not make him a performing artist, infact he is a plastic artist. Reeps one is the clear winner now stop arguing that eklips is any sort of match because he is not. he is not and you all know it so stop defending him and get a grip on what beatboxing is about. Technical, new style, never heard before, making your own stuff up. that is a beat boxer, not someone who copies and pastes with a little beat put into it. Eklips sucks end of.
I'm an MC. And beatboxers imitate their favorite beats. That's what makes them so live. They bring instruments through their voice. Eklips is insanely gifted.
Come on, this vid is on 2010. Now is 2014. And Eklips battling with reeps one in 2014?! Nah man, reeps one is more beast now. In speed musicality bass power and everything
Eklipse just didnt know what to do with himselve battling is a totally different world especially against a technique master like reeeps one, he got caught up in the energy of it and made a bit of a fool of himself, in my opinion
***** It takes a lot of skill to control and repeat the bass noises made in dubstep beatboxing, especially when they have to make drum sounds as well. Eklips limits himself to poor imitations of music that's already been created.
lol at the crowd cheering so much after eklips first round, Reeps one organically fluid with every drop, eklips just sings songs. No question Reeps destroyed eklips. R.i.p
Can you help me to ? :) what's the song from 4:38, please terminate my agony :D It's digging threw my brain over and over . .tune is sick Thx in advance !! :)
think we should just appreciate the fact two different styles of beatboxing at the top of their game combined and made some interesting music:-) (btw im a reeps fan for many many years...since his first video in the tunnel but eklips imitations of rappers is amazing)
Everybody nows that beatboxing was created from the lack of instrumental when rappers needed a beat to get started in improvisations. Non of that dubstep shit would be ever a tune for a rap song. Eklips has demonstrated that his vocal skills go beyond just random sounds. Eklips nailed it there
Actually that Dubstep "Shit" works very well with rap songs look up reeps one rap it will be the first video it's prob one of the best rap and beatbox routines I have ever seen
Correction : this is a beatbox battle and not something you do to find a good beat for a rap song .... If u just wanna listen to rap beats , don't listen to beatboxing
Old style singer/entertainer/already world known by this time (Eklips) vs (Harry Yeff) New style REAL 21st century Beat boxer from london, just winning the beat box championships....Quite easy to see why so many people support Eklips but its clear here who can do the most technical stuff and that's Reeps One.
People must know that Eklips is far away one of the best! He's also a beatboxer and a rapper and he mimmics rapper's voices of all around the world, he's very good at it (so that's a lot of work). So the 2 of them are good, yeah call it a 50/50 there's no comparaisons. 2 great performers that have each different styles of beatboxing ;)
Their styles are like night and day, but they're both amazing. I know it's a "competition", but I wonder how difficult it is for one not to join in when then other drops into a flow. Imagine these two beasts collabing. I'd buy that shit in a heartbeat.

The good old times. So many battles over 12 years. Beatboxing has come a long way.
2020 now and this is one of the best beatbox battle ever!
damn I'm getting old :\
New School VS Old School
More like Original vs Covers
yeahh :D
Ehh 50/50 right, I mean old school was 50% original then 50 %, covers
steven yanez actually id say old school beatbox is entierly experimental and that holding on to it as some some of quality isnt so useful man
agree :D

What Reeps did was obviously harder, he pretty much deserves the win.
paul macpherson 4 years later
Reeps one did the dubstep beatbox
Watching in 2019???? That’s right. 😃
Even in 2020, i always come back for some old school BB :)
The best beatbox battle of all time, tbh. Bitch shut the fuk up
Watching this in 2017 bucko
2019 😁😁😁
2020 one of the best vids
Reeps is obviously the best beat boxer but eklips sure as hell knows how to put on a show
I remember when this came out. How there was a lil beef happening. Cover beatboxing vs new style mixing. The transition into what we have now is insane. Ive been out of the scene for many years but slowly coming back and the new school now.. is absolutely monstrous. Respect to all OG's of the scene that pushed it forward.

Reeps one is always in battles, eklips isn't. Reeps whooped his ass. You could say reeps won haha
La cantidad de gente que han motivado al Beatbox éstos dos tipos es indescifrable.
7:21 win
Lmao so true
Still one of the best videos on SBX!!!!
I dont care what people say...Reeps One destroyed Eklips in that first round absolutely dropped the nuke
Its knowledge of the timea and stlyes that make this epic for both. Reeps was in his prime as a seasoned battler, EKLIPS never battled and was known for his covers and unique instrument sounds. throw back here in 2017 still watching

9:55 eklips.exe stopped working xD
looool
2017 e ainda vendo esse confronto!!! TOP!!
Come on, this vid is on 2010. Now is 2014. And Eklips battling with reeps one in 2014?! Nah man, reeps one is more beast now. In speed musicality bass power and everything
only almost after two years of first seeing this can i actually appreciate how awesome reeps is in this video.
Eklipse just didnt know what to do with himselve battling is a totally different world especially against a technique master like reeeps one, he got caught up in the energy of it and made a bit of a fool of himself, in my opinion
Show me 1 person that has done beat jungling like Eklipse did
Sh0h the human disco, robeat electro, babeli landing, originality my friend not replication beatbox isnt just a party trick anymore
Jovica Jovanovic Eklipse is nothing like Reeps one he just imitates songs he has no beats and techniques himself..
residentevil327 thats his own special skill though. No way reeps one could imitate that well
residentevil327 creation vs imitation
I'm American from Las Vegas and these guys are both my favorite
I first saw this video 5 years ago. To this day, I will still never know how he does 7:22
Liam Curran Throat bass + dgdgdgdg (say digger)
Ellis Stanley are you sure? usually to learn a routine it takes a while so I'll have to see if I can get it this way
Liam Curran I'm almost certain my friend, that's how I do it
It's:
P-ka-di-ka-fu-ka-di-ka
PF-ka-di-ka-fu-ka-di-ka
You can also use "ti" instead of "di"
Tks with throat bass
Eklips is one god damn entertainmer and that's why you gotta love him!
Eklips is great for a show...but his style aint made for battles...
***** Everyone have his opinion i personaly prefer a dubstep because i like drops bass and all conbinations of it...
***** It takes a lot of skill to control and repeat the bass noises made in dubstep beatboxing, especially when they have to make drum sounds as well. Eklips limits himself to poor imitations of music that's already been created.
何年経っても色褪せないバトル
dubstep vs hip hop
Two of my favorite beatboxers, both amazing entertainers.

lol at the crowd cheering so much after eklips first round, Reeps one organically fluid with every drop, eklips just sings songs. No question Reeps destroyed eklips. R.i.p
100/100 true
whats the name of da song that started at 8:15 :$?
the saxo or violin one!
eklips is good, but reeps has the techquine, he's able to do a lot of kind of drops, eklips couldn't pass the quarter of a final in a battle
6:12 this moment is legendary. .. When opponent getting brain fucked in bbx battle. Don't forget that one
Eklips is oldschool and all and I like his style but have you seen him do something new? I don't think so.
Can you help me to ? :)

I like Eklips so much just because of the old school hip hop n other beats! Much respect!
Eklips can't battle....Reeps One doesn't have the organised beatbox routine that he has now....
This is one of the most intense battles i've seen in so long.
Eklips exaggerates too much... xD
WOW
oh hahah xD
OMG
When Eklips does the wha-wha-wha he sounds like a chicken.
Haha I agree XD
I'd be honored to spit over a beatbox thrown out by Eklips or reeps, or any beatboxer.

Everybody nows that beatboxing was created from the lack of instrumental when rappers needed a beat to get started in improvisations. Non of that dubstep shit would be ever a tune for a rap song. Eklips has demonstrated that his vocal skills go beyond just random sounds. Eklips nailed it there
Actually that Dubstep "Shit" works very well with rap songs look up reeps one rap it will be the first video it's prob one of the best rap and beatbox routines I have ever seen
well you're sucks bruh. reeps one is awesome.
Correction : this is a beatbox battle and not something you do to find a good beat for a rap song .... If u just wanna listen to rap beats , don't listen to beatboxing
Still one of the sickest battles ever!
5:45
I love it when he says, "that's impossible".
Oldschool vs Newschool, EPIC!
The best battle ever ^^
This is historic legendary battle. Reeps one prime energy ⚡ no one. Only reeps do those vibes.
greatest battle of all time...freshness vs experience!
I love how in round 2 reeps does everything eklipse did just elavated several times and he was still doing his own shit
what is the name of that song at 5.55? reeps one
Eklips is not only a beatboxer, he can make the voice of a lot of french and us rappers
I have to say Reeps one took the win. No contest.
And I'm not biased, this is my first time hearing or seeing either of them. Very good stuff!
i mean is it a dubstep song from any artist ? or is it her own song ? i hope understand me =/
Song at 5:53 please ?
pueden decirme el nombre de la cancion en el minuto 8:21 - 8:25? por favor...
name of song at 8:21 - 8:25?? pleasee..

SO SICK, makes me wanna beatbox for hours, groooving hard!!!

Não importa o momento, essa batalha sempre me inspira!!!
Song at 8:20? Anyone know it? Thanks.
Both of them are amazing!
Reeps one is so sick. No other beatboxer comes close to his level
This is still the best beatbox battle ever i love how reeps in 2nd round his mental. This is insane how reeps one was good
Absolutely destroyed eklips
Reps one = Dubstep Beatboxer , Vin Diesel = Hip-Hop Old School Beatbox , Both = One of the World Best Beatboxer
old but this is still gold
both are fantastic, have different styles, they are the best beat boxer in the world
WOOOOOOOOOW eklips its a really old school brow hahaha
This is a perfect clash between Hip-Hop and Dubstep. (Just lyin on the floor raising all my thumbs in the air)
Each of them has their own style, it's hard to say who the winner
old school vs the new school both amazing in their own style good battle :)
2023!
Oldest man alive bringing them out..
2021 crazy how things change
Their styles are like night and day, but they're both amazing. I know it's a "competition", but I wonder how difficult it is for one not to join in when then other drops into a flow. Imagine these two beasts collabing. I'd buy that shit in a heartbeat.
Oh look, Eklips is doing his routine form the history of hip hop video....great...
