just think of it as "great minds think alike" its a very smart idea to keep records , take pictures , think of the orchid hobby in terms of a journal , we need to keep objective records to be able to see how far they have come! aside from memory which is subjective in my opinion, how else could we know if we are on the right track? so do what you think originally it was a good instinct probably!

Hello Dani! I received my first Tolumnias yesterday and one of them is the Tolu. Snow Fairy ‘Bianca’ and the last branch on the spike is yellow on the edges and lip or skirt with a dark Cabernet center; while the other branches are white on the edges and lip or skirt with a dark Cabernet center. There is a slight sweet fragrance as well. The other one is the Tolu. Jiaho Rose ‘Fantasy Rose’ AM/AOS (Robefield x Sunkist) and it too is supposed to have a sweet fragrance but I don’t detect it yet. I Love them both!!! I can’t believe how tiny the baskets they came in are: 1.5” x 1.75” 😱

The Howeara in my experience really likes dry medium. I use a mix of a bit of moss and mostly bark.

Hi, have you done a video on botrytis and how to treat it? I have botrytis on some of my flowers, I've cut off the affected ones but I'm wondering if I should spray the flower stem with hydrogen peroxide or maybe wipe it down with isopropyl... Thanks for all the help 😊
P.S.: I live in Ventura, CA, I keep the humidity in the room between 48-60% rh, and I always have a fan running on the lowest speed. And I have all Phals

Dani, the noises you hear don't come across that loud for me. I didn't notice the sounds until you mentioned them.

Hi Danny I’ve just received an lycomormium fiskei, a cold growing orchid. I live in a warm environment, how could I provide a cooler environment to only this specific orchid? Do you have any tips? Thank you

Maybe you should plant the Angraecum in a clay pot as well? Like you did with the Masdevallia :)

Hey Danny I need your help. I just bought a beautiful Phalaenopsis today and when I got home I noticed it's planted on bark with sand. The roots and leafs look very healthy but should I repot it? I don't want to lose the flowers :( I've bought orchids there before and had no problem so I did the mistake of not checking everything. I was thinking about keeping an eye on the roots and if they continue to be ok I'll repot it when flowers fall. What do you suggest?

Hi Danny I have a question. Are you familiar with the telling “if you want your Vanda to flower you have to fertilize her with potassium”. Is this true ? And, do you think if an organic home made fertilizer, the tea of the banana peels, should work ?
    Thank you

Hi Danny, how are the orchids in your Mini Greenhouse setup doing? Did I miss a more recent update?! If not, could you please do one? I'm thinking of doing something similar and would really like to know if it's worth the effort :)

Can orchids LEARN? I've had orchids freak out when they touch the LECA when first placed into semi hydro. Not all, but maybe 1 in 10 orchids seems to have difficulties in the beginning. Then the root can start regrowing or just stay a short stump. But when the next root cycle starts it's like they are fine and know what to expect from the medium.

Hey danny thanx for all the great videos. Ur videos helps a lot. Well am an extremly new orchid grower( just one month or so). I am having some problem in understanding the light requirements for orchids. I have them on window where they get very bright shade but no direct sun light.do i really need to let them have some sun light on them directly(but filtered)? I mostly grow vandas and dendrobium.

    Hi Danny. Diary -it’s warmer.
Did you do basket and microfiber with this seedlings before, I am, with coconut fiber to stabilize and is growing fine. It’s a seedling (?) I bought from a show mid February same size as yours and now almost double, but did have a healthy root. The leaves are so stiff you can pick your teeth with em 😜. Gosh you have a lot of patience for your babies when they stall. I would think you’d do a “Roger” and off to the hedge, or as I would say -OFF WITH YOUR HEADS !!!! But you do try many methods to get them going and that’s a learning experience for self and us 🤓 which provides invaluable content. Great to see you back from a needed day off.
    Acclimatize

Hi Dani. A question: when I have flushed my orchids in semi-hydro, should I leave water in the reservoir, or tip it out and then refill with my chosen liquid?

Hi Danny! I love your videos. They've been a great help for both me and my grandmother since we are both just getting into the hobby.
I have a question about a vanda orchid (root) that I was hoping you could answer. While impetuously dunking the orchid into the bucket of water one of the roots snapped off. The orchid is okay since it had plenty of roots. The broken root has been alive for about two weeks now since I've been keeping it hydrated and it's able to photosynthesize. Do you think it is worth the effort to keep this root alive? I've just kept my fingers crossed hoping for a keiki.
