from the context that the the boat was full of men, it happened at night, and Dice said that the man tried *to do that*, it's certain that Dice was a alluding that he was nearly r*ped. HM throws the phrase "I'll kill you" "murdered" around a lot, so if the guy attacked Dice and was trying to kill him, Dice would have said it. However sexual assault is almost always alluded to in Japanese media as it's still a taboo subject to discuss explicitly. Especially in an idol mobage game. I really wish that they had chosen something else for this story, as ARB tends to not handle the heavy subject matter usually seen in HM with the nuance the manga or the drama tracks do. While the manga can still skim over heavy subject matter, it is handled better than it was here. Dice's story, is an unfortunately common one on boats which employ short-term laborers looking to make money or pay of their debts. My grandfather when he was living in Greece back in the 30s would go on the ships to make money to support his family (he was 13-14) as the job was high-paying, easy to come by as long as you were able bodied and strong, and people looked the other way about things like employing a young teenage. He told me that he barely slept during the weeks he was away because he was scared of being assaulted due to the cautionary tales he'd heard from his peers on other boats :
