Apologies but I thought I had responded to your question 🤔. My shower came from West Midlands Koi, I believe the chap that makes them only supplies them to Lee at West Midlands Koi👍
well Phil, just when I think you couldn't possibly be anymore tidier, you go and create the ultimate Bakki shower media arrangement I've ever seen! 😁 I was looking at those MT lotus root nitro ring, I think they would have gone perfect in there between the gaps👍 massive difference with the light, much much better. love it😀
Cheers Si, much appreciated 😊👍. Hopefully getting the pipe work sorted this weekend coming although I am off the Bristol on Sunday with Scrag to a dealer event day😊👍
That shower looks great Phil 👍 👌. Think I'd have tried to get all the ceramic media in one tray vertically to minimise waste space then the matting in the others. Cheers😊
Hi Phil, that's a posh shower you've got there mate. Just check, but when I was doing my shower, I was told the Mountain Tree media works better stood upright. The water runs down the spiral of the media, spending longer in the media. Just a thought mate. Everything's looking immaculate as usual 👍👍👌Take care, Terry.
Thank you Terry, always appreciate you watching and commenting 👍. The guys at Mountain Tree advised that this media work’s equally well both upright and laid down, they suggest vertical stacking for multi bay filters and very large showers but horizontal stacking for smaller bakki showers and bakki rivers. TBH i think there is probably an argument for both but as i wanted to combine it with spiral matting I’m having to lay it down otherwise it won’t fit😊👍
The bakki shower is looking awesome but there is one important piece of kit you're missing...a high quality pair of sunglasses.😎🕶The shower reflects so much light that on a bright day it will blind anyone coming to look at your koi until you can get some mind-your- own-business or something similar on it to tone it down a bit. Very impressed with your chosen layout for the media in the trays. Looking forward to seeing it up and running. 👍🏻
Thank you sir, much appreciated 😊👍. You are 100% correct about the sunglasses so will have a load of MYOB to plant in it and if all else fails……I have a can of black spray paint in the garage🤣😂🤣👍
Hello Derek🖐. If you take a look at my video no. 58 it shows the shadecloth and how I fixed it. I had already tried various types but found that one good wind and they were torn to shreds so found this amazing industrial shadecloth through a friend who makes/repairs awnings and seat covers for cars and all sorts of things. It’s similar to the breathable flooring that caravaners use in their awnings but this stuff has nylon and/or very thin wire running through the core which makes it virtually indestructible. I’ll have a look for the details in the morning or you can just contact my source direct, tell him I sent you and give him your approx. Measurements and he’ll give you a price - Dave shade Ltd on Facebook👍
Thats one clean looking shower did you polish it. Im interested to see how you get on with the media. I used the same stuff in my old showet and it fell apart into sand. Have they changed it as i was getting good results
The mountain tree media is designed to break down over about 2 seasons, it’s the breaking down that allows it to continue releasing minerals into the water. I don’t think this is made clear enough which is why people are surprised when it breaks down. I have already fed this back to MT and will be sure to mention it when I commission it😊👍
That is looking good mate and you will definitely get some good results with the media I really like it ,and the way you have packed it out was a great idea using up the off cuts well done mate very tidy as per normal mate #tidy
Nice looking shower, when I was planning mine all that came up were the cream plastic one - that would have needed to sit on the wall against the fence (blocking the view of the horse?) or where the blade is? From the undercurrent I suspect Mary was not keen on either (ugly?) so you are lucky that Clare is so understanding!!! Keep smiling.
Not going to risk asking 'are the holidays worth it', sure you can get into enough trouble without me stirring anything or setting you up to fail. Sun soon be out and some proper Koi time to be spent!!!!
Afternoon Phil - I am at the same point as you - just about to purchase and add a Bakki shower - I know you got it from Lee but do you remember where he got it from as I think it would look superb on my pond - I am going to give the same media a try as well with the matting but understand to change it after two years
I believe the chap that made my shower makes the exclusively for West Midlands koi so definitely have a look at what they do online👍. The build quality and welding on mine is a work of art in itself😊👍

Yes, the way this ceramic media works is different from the infrared ceramic stuff because it is designed to break down and continuously release minerals into the water. They say to change it after 2 seasons but I know people who have been using it for 3 seasons and it’s still fairly new looking so I’ll see how it works in my pond😊👍

Wow that’s polished, be interesting to see how the long term review goes in this product
Yes, I’ve heard mixed reviews but think people weren’t aware that the media is designed to break down to continue releasing minerals into the water👍

Ah! that's ok then mate. Someone told me I was wrong when I laid it down in one of my tiers because it was too tall. Great video mate. 👍👍👍

Many thanks! TBH it didn’t take long with some white vinegar and a bit of chrome cleaner😊👍
Looking good 👍 and that

Thanks Phil I was not aware of that definitely be a good idea for Mt to explain that to stop confusion. Keep up the good work
Looking good Phil hope you feel better soon 👍👍🚀👌
