Yes, that’s true. BASIC would take long just to draw Pac Man himself digitally, the screen flashing, commands on certain keys, and more. It’s really impressive how they got games like this to run on a text based program. Kinda like running 3D on a 2D rendering program.

Is the MSX music based on the NES' version or is it the other way around because their Pac-Man Parks and Sandbox Lands are the same just with different instruments

I mean yeah, since both systems pretty much use the YM2413 chip for FM.
The only issue i see on this verison is the scrolling and frame rate the rest looks good

you can jump over funky (green) but not spunky (grey)

@@deadlyraver44543 years later, you had to time your jumps correctly to get over green ghosts otherwise you would crash into them mid-jump
