Its actually not my business, but your parents have a point. You have one more year to go and you want to throw that away? Whatever you choose as a career later in life, this is your foundation. Youre not guaranteed to immediately be successful in the creative field. For some it takes years to build their creative business. Your educational basis will feed you and keep you warm while you are working on other projects. Trust me, dont underestimate that.

Hannah Christopher I feel drawn to reach out to you. I also used to not enjoy school, but as soon as I changed my attitude about class I started having fun in every class and my grades shot up. I always convince myself that I am going to enjoy class and succeed before even my first day. I don’t wait and see how I feel about class, I walk in with the assumption that I will enjoy myself. And I do this everyday before class. I know it will be fun before I walk in because almost anything can be fun with the right attitude.
I also believe I learn something in every class, even if it’s not necessarily the subject. As an exercise, I’d recommend thinking of every class you can remember taking and figure out a lesson you learned while there. Did you learn about math? Or maybe your teacher was really rude and it taught you to deal with difficult people. Or maybe you talked to the person sitting next to you and made a connection, showing you to reach out.
When you walk into a class with happiness and purpose (in that you know you will learn something), the experience is always better.
