I listened to johnny kalsi, he is good but not to class of Kukki, Ravi Dana, Ricky from Tanda ... no way. Most Dholi in Bharat/India are simple with not much show biss and are down to earth .. coming from very basic background. If u look at their material and clean playinf UK Dholi cannot match .. period.
Since you live in the U.S. I'm assuming you've never had a one-on-one session with Johnny Kalsi (although every UA-cam Dholi says they have). I'm guessing your opinions are based on the very few videos that are on UA-cam of him playing or from your friends. If I'm wrong and you have spend time with JK and know what his limits are, then I apologize. Can you tell me what his weaknesses are? And anyone with professional training in Dhol, or kit drumming, can play what was played in the video.
