Hi,I saw someone said there was a really dark and dangerous alley or road between this apartment and the UOB and there are some drug dealers. Is it right?I wanna order the apartment but I really worry about the security.
selly oak court is private yeah but it should definitely be on the list when selecting your accom choices as it's still one of the Uni partnered ones, perhaps phone up uni admissions to find out why it's not coming up? XX
yeah it’s not on the list when I looked and also when I went to the accommodation open day last month it wasn’t offered to us to look at so maybe it’s been taken off? xx
Eleanor Grace that is so strange.. because they’re advertising volunteers wanted to help the new students move in come September, I’m really not sure:o I can ask when I go back to uni xxx
Faithful Rose I will contact one of the people running it to check it’s actually for UoB students next year and let you know - if it’s not coming up on the selection that may mean they have stopped it for this uni xxx
Yasmine Hammam thank you☺️ yes the two are two different accommodations and I am in neither - I’m in Selly Oak Court:) have a look on their websites at distance from uni & their layouts to see which would work for you
What’s the area like in Selly Oak? I’ve heard some really scary things and it’s really deterring me from Bournbrook which I loved :( also what’s the social life like there?
Fizza Sikandar I don’t think so, partnered accommodation is just an external company verified by uni so you know it’s safe rather than a scam, they work the same way
@@lizmyers5013 I've been offered a place at Liberty court and from the student's reviews I've come to know that it is just awful 😨Moreover it is very far away from the uni and I don't even have a car😦 It was in none of my preferences What should I do now ?Should I make another application or search for private accomodation.I don't really like the idea of going for private accomodation...
Would you say you ever feel left out bc you don’t like at The Vale? I got the impression that it’s the main social area but I prefer the location of Selly Oak. I’ve been looking at Liberty Park and Bournbrook aswell, do you happen to know much about them with living in the Selly Oak area? Sorry to be a pain, I’m just struggling to decide what accommodation to choose ahah xx
Eleanor Grace yeah I can understand that as that was one of my concerns but definitely not, you’ll make a bunch of friends wherever you decide to live and on your course/societies from all different accoms in the vale/liberty/bournbrook etc. Dm me on insta for any questions as I know people from those specific accoms so can try and answer them xxx
Hi I was looking at Uni of Bham for civil eng for 2020 entry and I was wondering if you think I will struggle without a level physics even if I do maths (with mechanics models)? Anyways the videos are so informative and interesting😊👌!!!
Hey thanks for the comment! No not taking physics won’t be an issue, a lot of people on the course did not take it and aren’t struggling - the course is designed in a way that doesn’t require you to have taken it x lots of luck!
Also alevel maths will help you a lot with the course! So try and understand that material as well as possible before starting - particularly in mechanics and you’ll do great👏🏼
please carry on with the uni vlogs!! hardly anyone vlogs at uni of birmingham and they make me so excited for september when i start! xx
Emily unfortunately all lectures are done now as the 3rd semester is just exams&revision😭😭 i will still vlog some of it xxx

Has Selly Oak gone private? It’s not on the accommodation list and I’m confused xxx

Liz Myers so do you think paying for it privately makes sense then because i really like this accom but I’m not sure if it’s for first years? Xx

Your room is sooo nice.
Is your room Bournbrook or Jaret hall and is there a difference between the 2 accommodations.

pretty cozy apartment)
is there any difference between partner and uni owned accomodation? if there is which one is better ?
