Good morning Josh. I've been wanting a vintage medico looks like a great smoker! I've currently own eight pipes as well. I love classic cars I've owned a 1985 Lincoln Town car, a 1978 Cadillac Seville Wonderful cars I love em. Have a wonderful day.👍👊💨💨💨
@GentryVintage yes brother! The Lincoln before I owned it was a funeral car man it was like new I loved that car! I really loved the story about your father meeting my idol Elvis! And three times that is so awesome! Keep em lit brother.👍👊💨💨
This is amazing. Last week the first pipe I ever bought 43 years ago developed a crack in the stummel / shank and broke. It is a Butz Choquin that I paid $19.95 for it brand new.
Good Morning 😊 Nice Housekeeping 😍😋 Maybe Garrett From Smoke Snacks Might Have a Remedy For Your Pipe🤞🏼Sorry To Hear About Your Pipe 😢 Have a Great Day and God Bless You 🙏🏽 Greetings From South Africa 🇿🇦
Sorry about your pipe. I had a similar event with my Dr Grabow royalton. I actually sent mine back to them as they said they wanted to see it and to my surprise they sent a brand new one. I love there pipes.
Unfortunately the medalists are no longer made. Matter of fact Medico pipes in general may not be made anymore in the near future. Im playing taps for you in my head.
My friend, try mixing a good two part epoxy with either briar dust (from sanding a retired pipe) or oak dust. Wear gloves and apply the mixture with a toothpick to fill in the cracks. Give it 24 hours to cure. Then you can lightly sand it if needed. I saved my favorite Algerian briar Canadian pipe that way.
I had a crack and a custom built pipe which I was able to repair using Stewmac clear CA glue with great success, in fact I am unable to even see where the crack was. One word of caution do not get it on your hands. It’s the devil to get off. The Stewmac CA glue can be purchased from Amazon or their website. I hope this helps
not smart to be smoking something that has epoxy on it, theres definitley other methods. if its a wooden pipe, some sawdust mixed together with melted tree sap will fix the crack
Good morning Josh. I’m so far behind on videos, I’ve just had so much happening here at the moment which takes priority. Shame about that pipe maybe someone can come up with a fix.
@@PiperX1X I completely understand, thank you for taking the time to drop in. I have someone willing to fix it for me, I just have to be willing to turn loose of it, put it in a box and ship it to them. It is still a good smoker even with the cracks.
I had a medico that I purchased off of eBay and had to clean it quite a bit. While I was cleaning it, it broke in exactly the same areas you are mentioning. But a whole chip came out. Again, I did not spend much on that one either, but it was disappointing. There are some for sale on eBay right now. I bet you’re inflatable car will get a lot of attention in your yard, ha!
@ I have smoked my broken one a few times with the big chip out of it. Is yours briar or the Brylon material? The Brylon was what mine was made out of that broke.
I am interested in that blend. I have read that it’s mild and have read it’s heavy. I just embraced the hobby and have bought tobacco that sounded good until I smoked it. Any advice would help.
@@roakey1506 it is definitely not a blend that I would recommend to someone just starting out. Not only is it higher in nicotine than a lot of others, but the Perique could be a turn off for someone just starting out. If you are just getting into the hobby, I strongly recommend that you check out Mutton Chop Piper. He has some great information on his channel.
Sorry to hear your favorite pipe has cracked. I hope you're able to find a new one that will last a lifetime.

I'm not giving up on it yet.

@@OscarSanchez-s7x saw dust with melted tree sap is better than epoxy that is filled with harmful chemicals that off gas...

@@johnmains9201 thanks for the tip. I will check it out.
Send it to Briarville. If it can be saved, Rich can do it !
@@stefanomagaddino6868 thanks, that is an option. For now I'm just going to smoke it.
Maybe you could get a metal ring or band and epoxy it in place. There's plenty more pipes on the bay!

To bad about cracked pipe
Good to see you Josh. Hope you find someone to mend the pipe.
