    I watched your Flosstubeversity episode on directional threads. What a game changer! I have been feeling for the correct direction, whether silks or cotton. My thread glide smoothly through the fabric and I have not experienced knotting at all. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. ❤

    I was so excited, as always, to see your video pop up today! When it popped up, I was actually browsing Mirabilia charts on 123Stitch. I never in a million years thought I would try to stitch one of these beauties, but the way you and Samatha approach them so matter of factly, and as comfort stitching, I think I’m almost ready to give one a try! One without too many beads and costly add on’s. Need to do some more research, but I’m excited! Thanks for enabling me!

    You are very brave to stitch on 56. It scares the life out of me. Love your Mirabilia, I can see why you are drawn to the yellow, white, cream combination. Very beautiful. I am still plodding along on Snow Queen. She is a big one and is going to take a fair bit of time. Thank you for your informational classes. I do stitch in hand but any information is good information. I love those slippers. I have bed socks but seeing your slippers makes me think they will be much more comfortable and warm. I got new glasses last Friday and now can see 14 ct. Aida without magnifiers. I can't imagine doing 56 ct. anything. I'm just hoping to start on 36 ct.
    I have started and finished four ornaments. I'm now working on a wip to get it finished. I also backstitched 6 blocks for a baby quilt. My word for this year is completion. I counted my WIPS and came to the decision that if I let myself start a new project when it is completed I can't start another until I complete another wip. Hopefully by the end of this year I won't have anymore WIPS. Have a wonderful week.
    I almost forgot this year on the 25th of each month I am working on a Christmas stitch. I chose one of my WIPS for this as well.

My husband still believes i stitch the samplers with alphabets because I'm a former elementary school teacher and he thinks I'm conditioned to teach letters to children. Poor man! In addition to stickers decorating your book, why not stitch a small emblem or motif for the month? You could use perforated paper, stitch a tiny heart (or whatever else) on it, maybe back it with card stock appear or felt and then glue it to your page.
    What do you plan to do with your chatelaine? They look beautiful but will you display it? Use it?
    Letters on samplers - it’s funny that you love them and I detest them. It’s not a problem because there are so many different patterns and styles to choose from. 💜 I will be looking forward to your next Flosstubeversity.
    Your slippers look so cozy. 😊 Acrylic yarn can be very warm - I don’t think it breathes at all. I use a yarn that is 50/50 wool and some synthetic to make mine easy to wash and still feel warm and breathable. That’s just me, though. Use what you like and keep those feet cozy. Regarding your sweater WIP, maybe you could consider buying the yarn and starting a sweater with heavier weight yarn - DK or worsted- and work on both sweaters, alternating them. You could knit a certain number of rows on each whenever you decide to knit. It’s better for your hands and wrists that way also.
    Enjoy your stitching!

    Hi Arica! Excellent! A video from you to watch while I have lunch. Fairy Idyll is looking very pretty. I do find that Nora Corbett's weird obsession with yellow dresses annoys me. Yellow is my least favourite colour. I know that others don't mind, this is just my strange dislike.

    • @FibersandFlossCanada
      @FibersandFlossCanada  3 дні тому

      It’s funny how many have yellow in their dresses! But when we look at color theory it make sense as many of her designs are light and bright as opposed to dark and deep and that means she needs reflective colors such as whites/yellows. So while I understand it, I still find it’s not my preference. But I still stitch it bc it’s gorgeous in the end!
