This scene perfect encapsulates what makes Space Dandy so great. While each episode may not relate or bring anything over into the next, most of them are expertly crafted to have memorable stories which you will remember for awhile. I can name many episodes in which I felt this way, The one with the alien girl, The one this scene is from, the galactic race episode, and many more. I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking for something lighthearted but at the same time knows when to put the kiddie shit away. 10/10, would watch again.
Exactly! Space dandy is so unique and different from other animes. It’s so unpredictable! You don’t know what you’re gonna get in a episode and it’s amazing. It also has a amazing dub 🙂
@@legitme7572 You literally have no clue what's gonna happen in each episode. They also don't care if they break the 4th wall or not, and neither do they care if the episodes end up contradicting each other. They just go with the flow, baby.

I still love the fact that at the beginning of this episode Dandy was talking nonsense about a decision to not surf anymore and everyone was dismissing him. This scene leaves you with a melancholic feeling of doubt about whether Dandy was saying was nonsense or not.
I know what makes this scene so good.... It represents what we should all strive for.... Pure fun! Excitement even in the darkest of times can make the last moments of your life in a planetary explosion the most fun you could ever have...

what I love about Space Dandy is how the entire series is chock full of jokey incompetence, but every few episodes you get an absolutely beautiful and emotional scene like this. love every moment
