He was the son of a concubine and hated by his family, but close to his brother. He lost his fiance, who he may have loved by his brother. Then when he allowed himself to open his heart again to someone that meant the world to him, he had to watch as that person chose her child over him, something he couldn't understand as he wasn't carrying the child and didn't have that motherly attachment to it yet. So to him she was abandoning him like everyone else when he was already down, and so he wanted her to choose him. To deal with that pain of abandonment and eternal loss he tried to destroy his emotions and a part of himself in order to forget and run away. It worked the first time since the spell completed by the time he saw Athy. But the this time she entered his life before that happened and his walls came down, finally seeing that 'thing' that took his love from him and was chosen over him as human herself, and not just any human but the last part of Diana that exists, her legacy, and gift to him, and the result of their love. He began to become protective over her, and finally open his heart a last time. ...Then when he had finally learned to love again and care for her, he gives everything to save her in exchange for losing her again, in the form of his memories of their every time . But even if the memories are gone, the subconscious and heart still remember. And I love how your video captures all of that. Clause isn't evil, just broken. Just human.
Everything you said is simply perfect, I swear I couldn't have phrased it better than you, you made me tear up haha! I agree, I think what I like the most about him is how conflicted he is, he's a character with so much depth and honestly that's just simply amazing. I've always believed it to be a mixture of necessity and genuine desperation on her part during this, while she definetly didn't love Claude at the beginning, she grew used to the quiet, constant, care he began to exhibit around her once all 'tests' were over. Sometimes, you love the person in front of you simply because they're the only one IN FRONT OF YOU. I'm not saying their relationship is healthy by any means, it's definitely not, and obviously it's romanticized by the manwha, but it's something I tend to dwell on. (There's also the fact that her physical age is definetly affecting her emotional and mental development on some level. The child in Athy recognizes the fact that Claude is indeed her father, and rationalizes that he should love her. And due to her more mature mindset, that subconscious likely doesn't recognize the fact that his love is unhealthy in a way that is affecting her.) ...this is just my interpretation, anyway.

You know this song made me think of an au for this world- where basically, Athy isn’t a transmuted- but instead she has to relive her life over and over with all her memories of each one, and the seconds preceding her death to when it all ‘resets’ everyone else will momentarily remember. It would be all angst, with Athy living all these different lives loving her father and everyone else over and over- I’d imagine he’d also be the reason for most of her deaths, like execution for a false charge etc etc, she’d spend a countless number of lives trying to figure out a way to save her father from that weird sickness, she’d try out different talents and professions to try and make him happy, and he’d either hate her like first life, or that happiness would somehow be ruined like the current canon world, it’d be kind the kind of story where I cry every update.

This story has a lot of potential and Plutus, the novel's author, already set up the possibility of other dimensions where the circumstances around Athanasia are different in each one and everything changes from one dimension to another, so why not? It is an amazing manhwa but I personally would and never read it again twice if possible because the emotional pain it inflicts hurts!! You know this song made me think of an au for this world- where basically, Athy isn’t a transmuted- but instead she has to relive her life over and over with all her memories of each one, and the seconds preceding her death to when it all ‘resets’ everyone else will momentarily remember. It would be all angst, with Athy living all these different lives loving her father and everyone else over and over- I’d imagine he’d also be the reason for most of her deaths, like execution for a false charge etc etc, she’d spend a countless number of lives trying to figure out a way to save her father from that weird sickness, she’d try out different talents and professions to try and make him happy, and he’d either hate her like first life, or that happiness would somehow be ruined like the current canon world, it’d be kind the kind of story where I cry every update.
Woah! That sounds really cool! This story has a lot of potential and Plutus, the novel's author, already set up the possibility of other dimensions where the circumstances around Athanasia are different in each one and everything changes from one dimension to another, so why not?

It is an amazing manhwa but I personally would and never read it again twice if possible because the emotional pain it inflicts hurts!! It hurt me soooo much when Claude lost his memory and treated Athy so badly while giving attention to Jennette. From that part onwards, I literally read through the manhwa in tears ranging from drops to buckets!༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
Once you start reading and really get into it, broo you'll be emotionally deeply attached. It's a statement not a maybe.
But overall it's one of the best of the Best Manhwas! A must-read!

I'll just say that the main character's mother was the only one his father ever loved, he never loved the second princess' mother, it's just that they were engaged
The main character's mother died while giving birth to her, her father couldn't cope with the pain of losing her, because she was his whole world, so he decided to kill his feelings and erase every single memory of her
And he neglected his daughter and was so cold with her because he somehow, blamed her for her mother's death
