But at the end, final decisions are made at the clay sculpture level; I would imagine a 3D scan is performed to translate the final changes back in to CAD before production through CAM. The eye of the sculptor is always critical in the shaping process it seems.
Thanks that's very informative. I have a question as an industrial design grad who knows how to use solidwors,3ds Max and Alias autostudio.. Although I'm highly proficient in designing products for manufacturing. One thing I want to know about going to work in a design studio... since Alias is Nurbs and A class quality surfacing for Simulation and presentations I've been told that it's not used inthe final production buy wither the Alias Surfacing Car I designed can be imported into catia or another engineering software to add thickness on it, so Should I just stick to Alias and Poly based softwares and leave the rest of the job to engineers so they use the final part files to produce steel tooling press dies for sheet metals?
This generation of the 7 series was one of the most beautiful BMW designs ever in my opinion. Sadly it got butchered in the facelift and completely destroyed in the newer generation.

He’s a professional car designer. And that too in “BMW”. If he’ll not be beyond perspective then who’ll be. Drawing with box is also amazing. I also learned it a month ago. I can bet that this guy also used to draw with box when he was a kid lol
