@@austinrichardson9687 it's so rough! My regular everyday anxiety never gets in the way too much but as soon as I'm behind the wheel my heart nearly jumps out of my chest. 😅

I’m 24 and still don’t drive. Driver’s ed in high school ruined it for me by playing scenarios and videos about what happens when you do things you shouldn’t behind the wheel. Glad I’m not the only one.

just got my license 2 weeks ago and i’m almost 23! it was so nerve wrecking but it feels so good to finally be independent. driving anxiety is REAL you guys but you can do it ❤️❤️
I am a guy. I am over 40. I have my learner's permit, but I am scared to go and get my full license. Laugh all you want, but there is a phobia. I want my license so bad, but scared, and hate being scared to drive. I live in the city so I am even more nervous, and road rage is huge here. I want my license before this year is out. I see kids driving and I am like, 'what the hell is wrong with me?'...the fear/ phobia, whatever it is real. I would love a stuntdriver to teach me to drive.
I’m not from the US originally. Before I came here I hadn’t driven for about 10 years, and I had only driven sporadically.I had to learn to drive all over again, plus drive on the other side of the road. It was very nerve racking learning (I was 43/44 at the time). When I got my license, I was so afraid to drive by myself. My sister had to be in the car with me. I felt self conscious and nervous. But you know what? Gradually I realized that I was becoming confident, and I was losing the fear. I was afraid of driving when there was a lot of traffic before. After a few weeks I was fine. I could jump in my car, and go wherever I wanted. I don’t know if this will help you, but that’s my story. If it’s a deep phobia you’ll probably need therapy to help you overcome it. You could try first though. Find an instructor who is patient, and who you feel comfortable with, and go from there. At least then you’ll know definitively if you’ll need help to get you to the point where you can start learning. Good luck!
@@MsBaldhead1 Thank you for that. I have been trying to figure out for decades why I don't get my full license. I recently renewed my learners permit for the TENTH YEAR IN A ROW. NO LIE. I am sure I could be in the GUINESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS. Lol. I am ashamed to even tell people I don't have my full license. All of my nieces and nephews have theirs. I am the only one in my family who does not. I do want to get my license. i think it is taking the drivers test that bothers me also, as I don't want to fail it. BUT I know I won't know until I try.
rhymeandreasoning Look, first of all STOP THINKING ABOUT OTHERS. Focus on yourself. Think about this in stages. Don’t think about the whole process and don’t be afraid to fail. I failed my first time and I learned from it. So many things are scary to us before we try doing them. When we finally try, we realize that they were doable. You’ve had years of building this up in your mind, to the point where it seems insurmountable. It’s not. It’s doable. You can do it, or at least try. Make the first step. Study, so you can pass the written part of the test. Even if you fail the first time, you’ll have learned something. You could use it a ‘dry run’. You can do it. Just try. Forget about road rage, and being embarrassed telling people that you don’t drive. Forget ALL OF THAT. One day at a time. One stage at a time. It’s impossible to get anywhere without making a step. Take the first step. You can do it.
Man I thought I was the only guy with a phobia to drive. I even bought a car and gave it to a relative to drive. I need to get over it
@@andn25 come hell or high water, I am forcing myself to get my license before the year is out. I got anxiety, just writing that. And where my parents live now, one needs to have their license..so when I visit I can get out and around.

I'm 23 i have never had a desire to drive. Also i have asperger's syndrome and the anxiety i have of being behind a steering wheel is what keeps me away from driving

I was forced to drive ... I got my permit at 17 & still don’t have my drivers license. I went in September, I failed because of the speeding & didn’t look over my shoulder. I went a week ago for my second time & apparently I was rushing the test.

DivaDelgado128 I was taking my time. I honestly thought I was starting off good, but I guess not because she didn’t make my do my parallel nor backing up. I got the same instructor I had the first time.

I had my permit for about 3 years until I decided to get my licenses to drive. I had horrible anxiety but I accomplished my fear at 20 and now I’m 21.
I don’t drive either and never had the desire anyway, no matter how much of a necessity it is. In high school, when it was teen driving safety week, I had to sit in the guidance counselor’s office because of the emotional trauma all of the video scenarios caused and parents telling their story of losing their children in bad accidents.
Jennifer Lawrence needs to go on this show. I feel like Jennifer and Kelly would be soooo funny together
I’m 27 and I have a deathly fear of driving. I can’t drive town streets no problem but when it comes to city streets and highways/ interstates no way. It’s killing me that I have a fear of doing that and I need to change it now
