  • Today was an exciting day as we attended a Nubian youth cooking competition organized by Jedid Teriga Teina, a project led by @khalil.kafe at Green pastures, Salam Estate. Their goal is to ensure that our upcoming generation not only learns how to cook Nubian cuisine but also preserves our rich cultural heritage.
For the past week, young people have been grouped and trained under the guidance of our wise elders and skilled chefs. Zuleikha Abdul rightly pointed out the importance of teaching boys to cook, a tradition that was common in the past when men also took part in culinary activities.
Jedid Teriga Teina doesn't stop at just one event. They plan to continue their efforts by organizing youth camps, more cooking competitions, and even offering Nubian language classes. Their dedication to preserving our culture is commendable.
Let's all give a round of applause to Jedid Teriga Teina for their remarkable work. And let's encourage everyone in the community to support them in any way we can. Together, we can keep our traditions alive for generations to come.
