Early Morning Trolley Testing at Kilbirnie Depot (2017)

Early morning at Kilbirnie bus depot as electric trolley buses get ready to go out for the day.
These safety checks help reduce the chance of damaging users of these vehicles.
The main check shown here is an earthing check. That test that there is no short in the power flow. Because of the voltages involved could easily kill a person if it flowed through them from the bus to the ground.
This video was recorded a month before the trolley buses are scheduled to be taken out of service at the end of October 2017.

I unfortunately didn't take any photos or video of anything back then. I thought they would be around forever so I never bothered. Man do I regret it now.

a good system that has been trashed by the local council & the new bus company TranZit who wanted the Trolleybuses gone replaced by a few token battery buses & more diesel buses not a good look
