I have several microwave size transformers. And microwave transformers. Also a couple forklift battery charger transformers. One that weighs a few hundred pounds possibly. It's 277/480 and 48v 200-250 amps . I'd love to build a inverter go use it.

Alfred I care. I was looking forward to it. I would like a toroid about twice that size or a couple that size.. I don't totally understand the sizing. And winding.I need a push pull of about 3kw. And 24v (21-30v in) and 120/170v out. So a 24-0-24/120-170 . for a inverter. I need 2500-3000 watts at 120v. Using a small inverter as the logic. Or a ups supplying the logic to drive it and a bank of power FETs. Along with the needed support. Caps driver ic. I hope it would keep the safty features. Do you think it be possible. It is very ambitious given my skill and education. I'm self taught. I wish someone was interested enough to help. I want to build it for my off grid home. Thanks for replying. And please look past my rambling. I am very interested in projects like this.
Push and Pull Transformer? I think its best to have them no other way since you'll want to get your peak to peak. I guess it ought to be around 60hz to be fair but ought to find that out on the charger itself??? 120 volt no worries long as your checking its existing windings matches up to the required input voltage along with the amperage you require. BTW the core as an saturation level. Its best not to peak that otherwise you'll be generating heat and might not max out at what you expected.

k = 37 is an empirical coefficient. Quality coefficients of transformer core

For 2500 watts you will have to use a battery of at least 24v dc
