A lady I know in Estonia said the sun never really goes down during the summer months. Countries like Norway and Sweden are similar because they are very high up there near the Arctic Circle where the sun never sets during the summer but then in winter is dark just the same during the day.
This was really entertaining, I love your style, you just do it. As for light. Yeah, it's great in tye summer here, light almost 22 hours but tye downside is winter. It doesn't get light till 9am and it's dark by 3pm.
In the Winter it's very dark early. Try and get out of the city and see the countryside. Try Oban , the Lochs... Loch Lomond , Ness etc. From Oban get the ferry to Mull etc .
Edinburgh is over 1000miles farther north than Boston that's why it's light during the summer. However, the days are much shorter in the winter when it gets dark about 3.30pm.
I am from Edinburgh and live in Edinburgh, if you were here on June 21st, it would still be a little bit light at 11pm and fully bright around 4am, last summer here in Scotland the temperature got up to around 92oF, Oh I am also a Cincinnati Bengals fan.
Thank you Jermaine for your video! Really like seeing Edinburgh! The Sir Walter Scott monument you first saw on East Princes Street is open to climb the 90 feet to the top. Great view but it does cost around 5 pounds. Looking forward to following you on your travels. Thank you for filming and sharing your adventures! Thumbs up!
Don’t know how I randomly came across this video but I enjoyed it. It’s cool seeing your home city from a traveller’s perspective. That structure you mentioned is the Walter Scott monument btw
Nice video, Jermaine. Edinburgh is an amazing town, so much to see and do. FYI, next time, there is a tram from EDI airport to city center. It cost 6 pounds, and ride was quick and smooth. I love trains and trams! If you want to learn everything about Scotland -- I mean EVERYTHING -- go to the Scottish National Museum. Very cool place, and it's free. Hope you have a great time!
It's still sunny cos it's summer time now, so longer days! Plus we're currently having a heatwave! You came at the right time to enjoy the sunshine!! :)
topman original Is it ok if ,He puts a video of His travel on UA-cam?Is that ok?He said the city name wrong, and said train, rather then tram!Is there anything else wrong he did?
IMO, your European travel vlogs are way more interesting than your domestic skateboarding ones. It's nice to learn something new about an interesting place.
Yo Edinburgh is the best city, it's really beautiful. I reccomend going for a walk up that rock in the centre (Arthur's Seat) and there are a few other cool hills and stuff around. Are you going to the Northern parts of Scotland? It's even more beutiful if you like nature. I went on a 3-day tour from Edinburgh to the Highlands, it was cool (company is called Hairy Coo).
Ah my home city the best city in the world you’ve got bustling city life but also nature on your door step only thing I hate about Edinburgh is the hills
you should take the train down the UK and visit some northern English Cities too like Liverpool an Manchester, the tourist section of London isn't really a representation of the UK imo
Thanks so much for the Edinburgh videos! probably the only way I'll ever see this city, unfortunately. I made it to Jedburgh (SP??) right over the border and it was light at, like 2am! But, yeah, gets dark in Winter when school kids gettin the bus home. Really enjoying your videos! Be safe and be sure to hook your foot through the strap of your bag if you take a little nap. Just watched a video of these 2 Brits (Joel and Lia ) who were in Paris to make videos - sorta like you, and Lia's bag was stolen while she checked into the hotel by a guy who inched up behind them, then slid her bag away by hooking it with his foot...in less than 1 min ,he was OTD!! Bon voyage, we send love!!
Yo jermain I watch your videos every day and I can’t help but think I love seeing new countries but why you won’t go to Africa or any countries that show our culture?
Also, if you happen to get in trouble, and get arrested by a cop by the name of, "Jordan McLaughlin" tell him you know Sean Harris, his cousin from America. He'll let you go
I had to laugh when you said you were visiting a new country, you've already visited the UK, not a single international body recognises Scotland as a sovereign nation and the people themselves voted to stay unified as one country.
Yeah some of the nationalists may say that but it doesn't make it true lol. At the end of the day by every possible measure, Scotland is not an independent country and is part of the UK (one country).
>we >houston ok let me guess so you're some spastic yank that's 1/64th scottish and watched braveheart a few times hahahaha www.un.org/en/member-states/ I do not see Scotland on this list, only the UK en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_independence_referendum,_2014 The majority of the Scottish public voted to stay as part of the UK rather than be an independent nation, as a stupid yank that's never been to Scotland in his life, why do you think you know better than the Scottish public themselves?
you disappoint me man, you need to learn how to pronounce the countries or cities you visit, as a travel vlogger it aint on, try saying EDIN-BRA fast and you got it.

Summer in northern hemisphere and the further north you go the longer the days are. June the sun sets later.
Theytoldmetodoit1 just like Alaska, 12 am is still bright.

Looks like a really cool place to visit, neat architecture, and that's really late for it to still be light out. Enjoy your adventure!

Yes impressed by daylight at 10pm.
Try my part of Scotland where it's still light at midnight and the dawn comes at 1am.
Edingberg...Lol.
Don’t know how I randomly came across this video but I enjoyed it. It’s cool seeing your home city from a traveller’s perspective. That structure you mentioned is the Walter Scott monument btw

We’re about parallel with Canada and Moscow, only reason our winters aren’t as cold is the Gulf Stream
I just love your travels and your observations.
Wow Jermaine Ellis you're living the life bro Boston=>London=>Edinberg and the sun is still out :)
4:02 is that Fred from Scooby Doo in the Ascot!!! Lol
do not come back in winter...4 hours of dullness ...20 hours of rain sleet and snow lol
That would not work for me :)
Edinberg and Tel Aviz ... yo yo yo Jermaine youre creating new city name by the kilos
It’s the American way
Amir G
😂 Jermaine is the best♥❤
It's still sunny cos it's summer time now, so longer days! Plus we're currently having a heatwave! You came at the right time to enjoy the sunshine!! :)
The sun usually sets a lot later in the UK in the summer, in the winter months it can set as early as 4pm :)
Hope you enjoyed your time in Edinburgh also known as the Athens of the north
Jermaine Ellis, it prounounced Edinbraa not Edingberg lol. Also that tram you saw not train at town centre.
oook.....
topman original Is it ok if ,He puts a video of His travel on UA-cam?Is that ok?He said the city name wrong, and said train, rather then tram!Is there anything else wrong he did?
I’ll take the English language and re-create it
You must be new around these parts?? He has his own language. We call it ellinese
U got a cool authentic life bro ….. I relate 🤟🏾😇
Ur closer to the artic circle.....during the summer monthd, they experience 3 months of continuous daylight
Oh yeah you came to London during spring!! Yup, it stays sunny till 10pm sometimes. And it’s pronounced “Edin-bruh”
Next time you're in Scotland come to Glasgow! Only about an hour on the train from edinburgh and has a lot to see & do :)
Tut tut tut..it's pronounced edenburg loool
You should definitely visit Glasgow as well!
Ughhhh Easyjet. Good prices but crap flight experience.
The north of Scotland is closer to the pole than the extreme tip of South America, so it’s hardly surprising.
Where I live the sun is out 24h a day almost 2months in the summer
Elias Koli where u live??
Nicki Minaj I live in northern Finland
Nicki Minaj Also in the middle of the winter there is polar night so the sun comes from the horizon for 1h and then it's dark 23h the rest of the day
That's some wild shit right there bruh...
This is not weird Jermaine in the U.K. This is our summers longer days shorter night than it changes in the winter
@jermaine visit blackpool.. :-) also something you probably didn't know. edingurgh has a volcano underneath it.. ;-)
Enjoy it thats a great city!
IMO, your European travel vlogs are way more interesting than your domestic skateboarding ones. It's nice to learn something new about an interesting place.

How much time have you spent in Europe during the summer? It kinda shocked me when I moved to Berlin.
