Erin! I just got into the VA freelance industry like 3months ago and I am so glad I came in contact with your UA-cam channel so early. You're inspirational.
Just came across your channel and I'm currently bingeing on all your content...keep up the amazing job, you are absolutely inspirational. Quick question, (some back story for context)I am into social media and brand strategy (just launching) and also do a bit of legal document drafting/typing for a few attorneys in my country (I am a full-time Library Assistant) . So I am considering becoming a legal VA but specializing in document preparation and more strategy style services. There aren't many legal VAs out there on UA-cam, is this a thing? (Being a legal VA that is)
Oooh that’s interesting! I’ll be candid, I have not met a single “legal VA” in all my years. I wonder if there is any overlap with a paralegal position - or if legal doc strategy is harder to do fill remote. Do you know anyone in law that you could speak to and ask them their opinion on hiring someone to do legal prep as a VA?
@@ErinBooth I do actually, a lot of lawyers (I'm from Trinidad and Tobago) have issues with keeping their legal assistant long term since most are waiting to get called to the bar. That's where I come in...doing mainly document typing/preparation. I keep seeing some info on becoming a virtual legal secretary but still not enough
Your videos are a breeze and I love them. I wanted effective communication skill video, when stakeholders do not reply to my email, what are the best practises to get them to reply. Thanks.
I suggest using a time tracker like Toggl or Harvest. That allows you to keep a detailed list of all the tasks you do for a client, and how much time you spend on each one. At the end of each week (or month, up to you), send them an email with a report from your time tracking tool so they can review your hours.
Hi Erin, Great video.. Im just starting out as a VA , and it has honestly not been easy. Truth is, I don’t know where to start from, I know absolutely nothiing. Can you help? Any advice would be much appreciated.
You got this! The hardest part is just getting started. Keep doing what you're doing now - looking for videos to help you find your first clients and get a few core skills under your belt. The basics are that you'll want to decide what services you offer, how much you charge. The rest you will learn on the job! I suggest finding videos that help you learn how to find your first few clients. I have videos on YT and courses on Udemy to teach those things!
What if my tittle is different because I am still full time employee but I opened my business Virtual Assistant. What title should I write in headline?
That's tricky! It depends - if your current full time employee doesn't want you to take freelance jobs on the side, then I don't suggest changing your title at all. That could lead to some unfortunate repercussions at your workplace. Leave your title as is and consider adding Virtual Assistant under your work experience instead.
Erin!

Thank you! And welcome to the VA world!
Thank you Erin for sharing your valuable experience
I loved this. It has really helped me as a new VA

Great advice. Always review your rates regularly.
Yes indeed! Have you raised rates lately (with inflation)?
@@ErinBooth my products change. I am not a service provider, but change my product offerings as it fits.

hi Erin, as a VA are you on flexible time as well.
I am! I set my own hours and am pretty flexible within those as well.
So how do you keep up with how many hours you’re working for a specific client. And how do you bring those numbers to said client?
