She might sound a little out of breath but that means she's actually singing and not lip syncing. I like the song and she did great!
Absolutely. At least she actually sang the song.
People don't realize how hard it is to sing and dance at the same time. She did very well she could have very easily lip synced it or only sang to the chorus like other singers. I have seen even seasoned performers like Beyonce get out of breath. Although Beyonces routines put this girl to shame.

I used to book Dasha to perform dinner service at my hotel with just her and a guitar player. She always said this was her dream. We never doubted her. Way to go kid! Your HSLO family loves you!

Everyone is judging her ability to PERFORM THE CMTS when this girl had a song go viral out of nowhere a few months ago. I would simply pass out even standing on that stage, let alone dancing and singing.
Ikr?! Can you even imagine? Everyone yippin about breath control and such... After i threw up, I'd have quit breathing and flat passed out. Probably showed my underwear and made some weird grunting and gasping noises still holding the mic. Put the haters in her shoes! She did GREAT!
Honestly. Shes performed locally made a few music vids and some youtube clips and now is on TV. Her world must be crazy right now.

I think she did it amazing considering she's a singer coming out from nowhere and that this was her first live performance in a big stage.
Can we just talk about how even with nerves and struggling to catch her breath she still did amazing? Yea she had her moments where it wasn’t perfect but she’s still human and she’s only gonna get better from here 🫶
And she probably hasn't had a lot of practices dancing and performing the whole dance throughout the whole song. She looks great, but it takes a shit ton of work to be in that kind of shape to perform flawless. She just needs practice. She did amazing, and she's greatful which I love.
@@berryknobberry2465 exactly. She’s only performed this song a handful of times so she hasn’t mastered her breath control with it. That takes a lot of time and practice. The fact that so many people are shaming for her performance is appalling

I say congratulations to her. My daughter was close friends with her and they went to songwriting summer camp together when they were 14/15. She had amazing talent even then. So blown away and happy for her success. Go Dasha! You deserve it! Fantastic job at the CMTs!

Why are people so ready to find flaws in other people? This girl has been dreaming of this moment since she was 10 yrs old! Ride the wave with her and just enjoy the music, you'll learn how to smile more that way.

This is extremely common. Its her adrenaline pumping, stage lights shining 100 degrees and all the body heat combined will make anyone sound like that. those saying her voice sounds shakey. The more she performs that will subside. I still sound like this when publicly speaking. Good job girl! Keep it up!

I love this performance! Her voice sounds great! To hold a tune like that without lip syncing or lots of autotune, while dancing, without the years of training and cardio many performers have - this is seriously impressive!

People saying this isn't country but this is more country than 100s of the new male artists. She just didn't dress the look and have the production of classic female country leads.
As to her look--she dances in cowboy boots, wears denim & rhinestones & incorporates line-dancing into her routine. Plus, listen to the lyrics--that's Country!

Nothing wrong with her wardrobe but the hip hop style presentation with the lame backup dancers was a bad idea. And the song is too fast. She needs a smarter team instead of the industry hacks who want to turn every singer into madonna.

I can’t imagine how scary and intimidating it would be to perform in front of your idols like that. She probably hasn’t had a ton of time to get used to big stages like this. "It's not country enough" is just the rallying cry against women who own their careers or their sexuality or both these days.
