The mechanic is at the first gas station that you decided not to stop at. He just wasn't there before because you only got him to this island late last time.

I don’t know what it is about this game, but I’m enjoying it more and more. It’s just so relaxed and calm, even though you’re running around to find different people and fruit all the time. I’m glad you were able to finish a few quests and everything, too. Hopefully you can repaint the Fruitbus after talking to the groom, though. I miss the colors already. Lol.
