Can we just acknowledge the fact that Armstrong could only have bought the giant robot ant for aesthetic reasons, because he's literally stronger than it
the most badass thing about sam (and the reason he is easier to fight than the others) is that he is only part cyborg. hes basically a normal human battling a cyborg made for battle.
i feel that saying part cyborg undermines his strength since tbf he isnt even a cyborg, hes just a man with a prosthetic arm, everything else about him is purely human

It would be interesting seeing raiden follow Armstrong's beliefs, if they were going to make a next game they could have raiden be the villain if they wanted or make it so that Armstrong's America comes true
It’ll get a sequel eventually, if Alan Wake can get a sequel this definitely can. The game studios know how much fans are anticipating certain games so they wait for the right time to drop them to get the most hype out of it. They know how much holding out on us works in making us want it more.
@@kirbe5039 I highly doubt they'd make Raiden the villain for the simple fact that that's just not who he is. While Raiden did agree with Armstrong that the system in America as it is now is fucked up, they wanted two vastly different things. I love how each character gets stronger whenever they are spitting their philosophy. It's like a debate and the fighting is just a visual representation of the impact of their beliefs in that particular moment. In the end, Wolfy had to step in and spit his own take and give Raiden that good anime BUDDY MOTIVATION. And the music is always on point with it lol
Armstrong was ultimately right about Raiden in that he, like Armstrong, fights for what he believes in no matter the odds, and will absolutely kill if he must. The personal war you see him embark upon at the end shows that his words even got through, though how Raiden wields the ideal is much different from how Armstrong would have, if I'm remembering correctly. It's also cool how Raiden is effectively exactly what Armstrong wants the rest of the world to become, yet is completely opposed to what he's doing. And it fits that who believes the weak should be culled by the strong is ultimately destroyed by someone stronger than themselves.
imo when he says "the weak will be purged", what he actually means is that he wants the weak to have no choice but to become strong. like throwing a young bird off a cliff, and either it learns to fly or it doesn't
1. Its pretty crazy that, even with his new body, Sam was able to pretty consistently dunk on Raiden despite his only major cybernetic enhancement being his arm. Which actually made him *weaker* if anything, since he had trouble getting used to it. 2. I am convinced that half the reason that this game doesn't have a sequel is because they have no idea how to top Armstrong. The dude has next to no screentime up until the final level and yet they do such a good job of making every second he's onscreen count to make him not just iconic, but one of the best final bosses in video game history. And the fact that he's *chronologically* the *final boss* of the entire Metal Gear franchise is just the cherry on top.
And thus the main story concludes with 3 more songs. For Sam we got “The only thing I know for real” which is hype. And Armstrong gets 2 songs. “Collective consciousness” which explains what we THINK his motives are, and “It has to be this way” after the realization that he and Raiden aren’t so different Side note: 33:11 “Yo! Is that f@cking black face?!?!”
It goes even deeper than that. Armstrong believes in nothing except his own greatness. He gives what's effectively a speech and then follows it up with, "I don't write my own speeches." The speech itself is just bites of other speeches as well, this is advertised by bits from two speeches that are unable to be more different if they tried. One is a call to the most sincere humanity and the other is a dog whistle to Fascistic ideology. Those two things are cognitively dissonant. Reinforcing that Armstrong himself believes nothing save for his Fascistic ideology. "Weak" and "strong" are relative terms, Bladewolf even makes this explicit when he says that if Raiden wants to protect everyone weaker than him then it would be billions of people. Armstrong sees himself as the strongest person there is. When someone states an absolute they also state the implied opposite since the listener subconsciously thinks that the opposite is the only way that absolute statement has meaning. So, when Armstrong says, "The weak shall serve," he implies, "The strong shall rule," and in Armstrong's eyes no one is stronger than him, as they're weaker than him they shall all serve him.
I like how raiden actually shows respect to Sam by instead stabbing him through the chest instead of slicing him to millions of pieces like the others even tho he was the guy that almost fucking dog watered raiden in the vid lol.

I also loved how he just wanted to do a normal duel. No extra bullshit. No speeches. Just a fight to the death.

Hey Dontai, im excited that you've been playing all these hack n slash ps3 games that i love. I do have a suggestion on the next game to play. Ninja Gaiden would be a great game to play from Ninja gaiden 1-3. I'm not gonna lie. it's a challenging hack n slash series, but it's definitely worth playing.
i just now realised raiden puts his hand on his chin and laughs after dodging an punch that almost hit his chin, then armstrong hits him on the face and he slides across the floor with his chin
Now you gotta try Metal Gear Solid 3. Idk if stealth games is your thing but the story and bosses in that game are amazing, also it's chronologically the first game in the series.
I've been watching a video of the additional Codec calls a player could view throughout a level in this game, and learnt something interesting you may find cool: Doktor explains that In this game's setting, high frequency swords are made from giving conventional swords a special treatment of which i don't remember the specifics and details. It's all very complex, and delves into the difficulty of real-life weapon smithing: ensuring that a steel blade is flexible enough to absorb impact while still being hard enough to not snap. And that conversely, the blade is hard enough for serious cutting power without becoming too brittle. If i remember correctly, the logic behind HF blades' effectiveness is that the high frequency/vibration makes atoms... move, or something, in such a way, that the blade becomes a much more solid physical object that rules out the brittleness risk nigh entirely. From my understanding, that's the best i could put it. A HF blade is all the more effective if the original weapon's quality was of a high degree as well. Now, Sam's sword is stated to be inherited from his father. But in the Codec calls, Kevin tells that the sword's been in Sam's family for much longer than that. There is no file on who forged the sword, but it bears the name Murasama. A very, very legendary name in Japanese history and/or folklore (on which I am no expert) Though this would be cool info for you to learn about. Knowing Sam fought with a sword passed down through generations, minimal cybernetics and thus largely his own bodily abilities, and it puts an extra view on Sam as a whole. The Codec Calls in general bring in a TREMENDOUS amount of background lore about the world and its history as a whole, as well as more info about individual characters. And a lot of real world terms, concepts and history too, albeit mingled in with the Metal Gear historical continuity. But there's another thing, an observation i didn't make myself but remember still. In most fights, the vocals only kick in after Raiden progressed to phase 2, let's say. And that could be seen as the point that the boss truly takes them seriously. In Sam's fight, the vocals are already blaring from the beginning. But it is when you slap his sword out of his hand that the vocals leave entirely. Pretty unique spin. The idea that the boss is technically stronger when he's *unarmed*, but takes the fight more *seriously* when both have a weapon in hand. Hope you found this info interesting! The more hardcore MGR:R fans could tell you more baout the info and symbolism on it all. I'm personally more about Darksiders, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Soulstice where it concerns hack-and-slash/character action lore.
Can we just acknowledge the fact that Armstrong could only have bought the giant robot ant for aesthetic reasons, because he's literally stronger than it

Also Raiden actually sliced the doctor and george in half in that room but george managed to survive with his head and left arm intact so hes basically a cyborg now, you didnt see it because it'll be graphic af
Armstrong is one of the greatest villians of all time hands down.
Dontai with another game added in the completion list. Onto the next one!
BRO everything about this game. The music, gameplay, bosses, and everything is legendary🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I'm glad Dontai played it
bro this whole series is insane thank you dontai for playing this masterpiece dude 🙌 hopefully u play mk1 when it releases
20:05 the fact this cutscene was talking about memes and fast forward to today, also a bit ironic an iconic meme came from this
Dontai been on fire with these MGR vids but....
Who gon tell him they got DLC content?
Haven't seen one yet but "Memes" in used in its definition not 'haha much funny much laughs' style of memes but as and quote. "A an element of a culture or system of behavior passed from one individual to another by imitation or other nongenetic means."
I've seen people distill it to essentially meaning "monkey see, monkey do"
Dlc's gotta be next for sure! Can't wait to see you kick ass as Sam and Wolf!
31:00 to this day, Raiden chuckling to himself cause his chin didnt get hit for once...only for his chin to take the most damage it ever had XD
I think what made this playthrough interesting is the fact he struggled more with sundowner than sam which is in funny cos most people view sundowner as the easiest boss given his health and the fact you dont even to destroy his shields to beat him
Watched you post this on stream, im in your walls
☠️
Yeah
@@ImStillSixxeswhen Raiden turns red, it's because he's feeling pain. When Bladewolf decided not to shake Raiden's hand, Raiden turned red, which means he was hurting because Bladewolf rejected his handshake
Well I’m in your *Balls-*
@@lucifermagne7458 wtf are you talking about
outstanding, immaculate even, can never get tired of it
43:50 Always gives me the chills.
Imagine a remake of this game in 10 years...
He has to play the dmc series next 🙏🏽
dmc or bayonetta 🙏
Also yakuza 0
He played dmc5 but it would be cool if he played the other games too
Probably my favorite series I've seen you play other than 12 minutes. I'd suggest you play other Metal Gear games if you'd like to try out any more stealth games.
Jetstream Sam's DLC is truly on another level
You should give the prototype series a chance, it will knock your socks off!
YES BRUH OMG
Man this game was ahead of its time!!, I wonder if there’s going to be any sequel
This is easily the most anime game out there! Love dontaii reaction to the spider boss fight 🤣
49:05 WHEN THE SONG LYRICS KICKED IN WAS PERFECT. (This is RNG timing but GOD THAT WAS COOL)
This playthrough was great! 🔥🔥 Hope you play the DLCs if you enjoyed the game enough.
I would love for dontai to play the metal gear solid games, don't know if they are too long for a youtube series though but snake eater would be great, him experiencing when the song kicks in
12:12 you think grown men don’t enjoy cultured art ?
Having that side dodge is absolutely required for Armstrong plus that polarm is definitely the best when it comes to attacking fast. I definitely had fun my first time through and I also chose the red and black skin too.
Now you know Dontai...
*It Has To Be This Way*
(Intro intensifies) 🇺🇸
The play through was amazing it was fun seeing your reactions. Thanks for playing Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
literally the best video game ever
54:47 When he was taken as Hostage he told raiden that he should just save the kids leave/kill him , so Raiden confirmed once again and then struck both of them down but he ducked/leaned to the side so he didnt die
Dontai you literally played all my favorite ancient games
Thanks for the journey
The thing that was impressive about Sam imo was that he was still beating Raiden's ass the entire time with almost no cybernetic enhancements and even after Raiden got his upgrades, Sam still gave him trouble during their final fight. I also loved how he just wanted to do a normal duel. No extra bullshit. No speeches. Just a fight to the death.
waitin all day for this 🔥
Me too
Bro this seeies was so fun to watch.
I really hope he plays 40k Space Marine one day before the sequel comes out later this year. God that game is sick!
Sam fight is pretty straight forward, but on higher difficulties when everybody hits like a tank you’ve died 10x over with the amount of hits you took 😂
8:24
Wait, why didn’t he go back to the bike?
Also tai saying “Luda!” Everytime Kev appears! 😂
36:22 “that arms coming off.”
It already has bud
The Armstrong Final Battle is one of the best Final Bosses in any videogame!!! I remember I had such trouble with the Blade Mode rubble throwing sections, and it took me so long to figure out how to actually stop his healing. But amazing Finale.
39:14 Nanomachines, son.
1k like here, love your gameplay man, really made my day fam.
4:13 “disarmed you lose buddy”
*sam proceeds to make him thoroughly taste asphalt*
59:16 there was supposed to be a sequel to this if i remember right, but smth didnt let it happen. idk what exactly
i just now realised raiden puts his hand on his chin and laughs after dodging an punch that almost hit his chin, then armstrong hits him on the face and he slides across the floor with his chin
One of these days dontai gotta play the DMC games
38:17 STANDING HERE I REALIZE YOU WERE JUST LIKE ME TRYING TO MAKE HISTORY
I was looking for this 😂
Now you gotta try Metal Gear Solid 3. Idk if stealth games is your thing but the story and bosses in that game are amazing, also it's chronologically the first game in the series.
I've been watching a video of the additional Codec calls a player could view throughout a level in this game, and learnt something interesting you may find cool:
Doktor explains that In this game's setting, high frequency swords are made from giving conventional swords a special treatment of which i don't remember the specifics and details.
A very, very legendary name in Japanese history and/or folklore (on which I am no expert)
Though this would be cool info for you to learn about.
Imagine dontai playing gears of war 1,2 and 3. But he'll probably play one of them and leave it
Worst part about Armstrong, is that we would vote for him.
Cory and dontai literally the same person they both funny ash best gameplay
BTW dontai u have the sword and that scissor shi the other guy had
You gotta do the devil may cry series next, I would start with 3, kinda mixed on 4 and then I think 5 will be one of your favorite games ever
The absolute Joy in your Face makes this fan of MGR revengence really happy. The Armstrong fight is Still in My Top 3 boss Fights of all time.
“im reporting that nigga” man this playthrough was fun😭😭😭
