I did the carnivore diet for a good 3 months before. It was kind of a follow up to doing the keto diet for several years. It was almost like I was carnivore since I avoided too many vegetables because of the carbs they contained and I became more and more obsessed with restricting carb consumption. When I was no longer losing insane amounts of body fat despite cardio increase and carb deductions, I decided to remove vegetables entirely. Because eating excess amounts of meat was difficult, I decreased my caloric intake and it put me in even more of a deficit than I already was in. I was hungry so much less only eating meat and I felt energetic I think because my body was in a severe fasting state. However after 3 months, I felt sick in the sense that I missed vegetables and seeing a zucchini could make my mouth water. I eventually went back to keto, and honestly, it IS sustainable for ME (keto is). Carnivore might convince people it’s working because you genuinely don’t eat half as much as when you eat carbs, at least I didn’t and that’s been what others have said about it to me. So it convinces people it’s the lack of vegetables and other food groups doing it, but it’s not. That’s my take on it at least.

    23:38 Hi, Biology student here.
It’s not necessarily the protein which gives you energy, it’s more of the B group vitamines which are present in animal derivates. In that case you could just take vitamin B supplements for a while.
Or maybe you feel always tired because your diet is full of added sugars or refined carbs which give you quick bursts of energy but don’t sustain your body “long term” (meaning during the hours when you are not eating). In that case the best thing to do would be to cut down those sources of carbs (WITHOUT completely eliminating them) and consume more starches, whole foods, fruit and veg.
Or there could be any other reason why you feel tired that could not be solved (or that could be worsened) by eating exclusively animal products.
The best thing to do if you lack energy is to go to your doctor and find out what is the cause of this occurring so that they can actually solve the problem at its root.
The fact that lately this sounds as a revolutionary and new way to go about the problem is absolutely ridiculous, it feels like we’re back to the Dark Ages.
