Chad does a very nice job showing the 33 Classic. However, neither he nor Airstream can rectify some of the issues confronting its top of the line TT. I always have had my 5thW rigs outfitted with a 50 amp generator if possible; something impossible to install on an Airstream TT. This means carrying it in the bed of my pickup which is an invitation to larceny or damage. Also, while 54 gallons of freshwater capacity may suit some folks, it's not conducive to longer boondocking stays. If a larger freshwater tank is not feasible, a WaterMiser system would be a big help to stretching your dry camping a few more days. It appears to work on RockStaff rigs. A water bladder in the bed of the pickup presents a new set of problems. The 33 Classic is out of my reach, but it gives me something to which I can aspire.
Airstreams are RV campground queens, no one buys these to boon-dock, they stay in RV parks with full connections. They might work for an overnight stay, but no more.
@@Erin-Thor Campground queens. Right you are. The reason I enjoy RVing so much is because I can boondock and dry camp anywhere permissible; within reason. The bedroom TV is ridiculously small. How big of a TV will fit there? Also, I can only imagine how awful that picture is from that projector on that screen. Totally ridiculous! Damn right, it should have power blinds everywhere in there!
Nice review, especially including the footage of an " EXTRA SCREW" just laying on the floor, and a power wire dangling from the screen motor. This was our dream RV, but we have heard too many bad reviews/reports from the buying public, concerning Airstream quality really going downhill, we will probably be going with something else. This is their top of the line , most luxurious trailer, you would think it would be perfect ! Absolutely no excuse for an "EXTRA" screw, and dangling wires. Highly disappointed to say the least, $212,000 for something that needs work as it leaves the factory, how sad that the RV industry as a whole feels like this is acceptable at any price.
I’ve sold a lot of different type of RVs and I can say without a doubt, even with the adjustments that need to be made, they still make the best RV in the industry.
They should sell some type of a shower chair to go in that large shower since most of your customers that buy these expensive pull behinds are older I would think or just someone it wants to sit down. That way you have a chair that won't harm the floor of your camper. If you just go get a plastic chair and put in that shower it'll scratch the bottom of it up and you can buy medical grade shower chairs which have rubber stoppers on the bottom and they work pretty good but if you had one purposely built for that shower to fit in the contours and maximize your space that would not be a bad item to sell.
The inputs in the cabinet would be better where it is so it doesn't take up the storage space for the DVD/ media/game system on the shelf. Just my two cents.
The problem with the dinette into a bed is those cushions split right in half. My son ended up with his back in the hard table. Need a better way to hold those cushions together. Any sheets don’t tuck very well.
150000 over priced ! Lot more bang for the buck out there! Only way I would consider one is if I won lottery! It stupid money waisted on the brand! Like buying Rolls Royce when a Camery gives u way more practical machine!
Knowing the build quality of Airstream I was surprised it wasn’t more than $200K however I was surprised at how flimsy some of the materials are. I’ve seen this exact model at a dealer in Virginia and the overall foundational build quality is really good. On the inside some of the interior parts look nice but up close they’re kinda cheap. It’s still one of the better campers available unless you want to spend double. I agree with you on pricing. It’s out of control. What makes these things so expensive is the labor costs to make the damn thing. Most buyers already have vehicles powerful enough to tow this beast. Buying a camper and then a vehicle to tow it is just stupid.
😅So, you just spent almost a qtr million, and you have to wake up your spouse so they can sit up while you raise the bed up in order to be able to stand up, walk around the bed to get to the door so you can go to the bathroom in the middle of the night? Don’t think so. Also, where are your hang up clothes supposed to go in the bedroom? Also, why not have the spare tire behind the axles instead of making the tongue weight even heavier?
Either would tow this great! I would stay away from the Ram 2500 with the Cummins because the payload on that truck is super low for the 3/4 ton. If you want the cummins go with the 1 ton. On the 3/4 ton truck check the payload. Try to be close to the 3k range for payload.
Have you heard of anyone replacing the sofa with something that reclines more? If you were doing long-term living in this model, that would likely be a sore point for me.
Hi Chad my wife and I love your videos. Based on your experience in the RV industry could you try to answer a question that nobody else can seem to answer for me. I've written multiple letters to different manufacturers of "some other brand trailers" and have asked this question, "why do RV manufacturers keep making the units taller and taller and taller???" As a child our travel trailer had one step up years later as an adult my family had a travel trailer with two steps up most recently as we search for our next RV after years of not owning one the travel trailers are three steps and even four steps up, also now with "stairwells" that fold down so you can climb up into these units. What the heck is going on!!! Before purchasing our next travel trailer we added a RV stall to our garage with an 11 ft door, after trim I have about 10 ft 11 inch clearance. I would have to say about 60% of the travel trailers will not fit in this garage stall. The trailer I had back in 2009 was 10 ft 4 inches tall, now most like travel trailers from that same manufacturer are above 11 ft tall. These are not lift kits or off-road travel trailers. This is the biggest reason that my wife and I are leaning towards ordering an Airstream, not only because of the build quality but the fact that they are pretty much the same height going back to as far as the 1970s. One explanation I received which is totally laughable was that the "tow vehicles are getting taller and taller" I don't know about you but my 4x4 is pretty much the same height as the one I had back in the 1980s. Whatever happened to "low center of gravity" Please share your knowledge or comments on this subject. Thanks John
I have a few thoughts on this. (1) It's easier and cheaper to engineer a body on a frame than it is to build around the wheels. (2) People want bigger windows and overhead storage. The only to have both is to build taller. (3) ACs didn't use to be ducted when they added ducted ACs the RV got taller. (4) Tanks have also gotten a lot bigger and the only way to make room for that is for the frame to be higher. That's why Airstream tanks tend to be on the smaller side. I hope this helps!
That classic 33 foot trailer is absolutely beautiful. I would sell my house and live that full-time how much more space does a person need? You could raise a family of three in that airstream trailer easily everybody’s just gotta get rid of all the junk that you collected.
The quality is good, but not worth paying the same price as a house. Also why are the Airstream’s always so sterile? It looks like it should be a mobile hospital or mobile blood bank. Very sterile appearance………which is not comfortable or pleasing to stay in.
latch still sucks. for what these things cost its SHOCKING to see the lack of detail on these units... not impressed after buying a 2024. I doubt they have any QC at the factory and if so it was only to comply with DEI
It kills me how all these new RVs are going electric, a microwave?? Lol, who uses a microwave when camping? Where do you get power for it? A propane oven does a better job and it's PORTABLE. They don't even use three way fridges anymore, they throw in a cheap electric bar fridge and put a useless solar panel on the roof
