Oh listen, it's creating tones and patterns that I can achieve with my Alesis Micron and Akai Miniak that I purchased at a much lower price point around the time that this machine was released. Wow.
In Japan, the Nord Lead A1 and NL4 are the exact same price. Talk about confusing to the customer. One of them has to give and it seems likely a discontinuation of the NL4 soon with a price drop on the A1. I suspect an A2 or maybe even an NL4x is close on the horizon. Either way, the Nord Lead A1 is way too expensive. Price drop coming in November is my prediction just in time for Christmas! It's a nice synth and on my list, but not at 20-30% above what it should be in price. Like with Apple Computer, there are Nord fans who will adopt early.
it sounds very good , but no need to sell as analog, it's not , the analog pulse wave for example sounds not analog here, it should stand on its own and it serves its purpose nord is prevalent in synth pop for a reason, it sounds good out of the box
here is my first go on this beast (I'm no electro-musician at all, more like jazz and acoustic accordion haha tell me what you think!!) : ua-cam.com/video/2WzyEgOxzik/v-deo.html
James McGill I almost bought a new/old stock D6 from a music store around 1996 for $350. still kicking myself on that one. a friend found one new in the box, never played for $400 in the early 2000s. he sold it on ebay for $1200. I don't think they're selling north of $2K any more. people have gotten tired of them once again.
Seriously. These things all sound the same. They are an excuse for people who don’t produce to always be hunting for that next piece of gear that will finally have the capabilities necessary for them to create their masterpiece. They spend thousands for the sake of bragging that they have better gear than you. Meanwhile, you’ve produced 4 new songs this week while their gear collects dust on its display stand.
At 11:26 he stares DEEPLY into your soul and judges harshly what he finds there.
And what about 04:49 ? Judgment day is upon us, repent! repent!
Thanks Chris, this is the best demo of the hands-on functionality and sounds of the Nord Lead A1 on the net imo.
This is a powerful synth. I wouldn't mind having it.
Diabolik771 I use to own the lead 2x I got at a pawn shop but I sold it because I wanted a keyboard with a piano sound. 🤦♂️
It's so funny, you can actually hear the stepping at 7:57 right at when it's told there is no stepping...
He probably didn't move his fingers smoothly. But yeah, the irony :P
What else do you think is wrong with this synth?
And that's just how he moved it. He sort of paused. Listen to the final other sweeps.
Mark Bolton I dunno, that looked like he wasn't really stopping, but it was still stepping.
how funny?
Great demo

My all-times Love!
If only Keith Emerson had had this synthesizer during his early years!
+epsilontic I´m kinda glad he didn´t...
good demo chris!
I am wondering how the voices are allocated, 24 voices, while the Lead 4 shows 20 with 4 synth sections.
I will say that master clock indication is pretty bad ass.
Great work ! Many thanks !
why is it in mono?
Drop that synth!
Hey, I'd love to drop this synth from approximately 100 metres up. These synths are huge, heavy and cool.
Peace ✌️ out people
Just sold my yamaha CS1X to get a less digital sounding poly. Would the difference be really noticeable for the extra £1000??
Is the 2x a larger keyboard .. I mean in size ?
*Wonderful ♪ ♩ ♫ ♪ Thank you!* ツ
Quite metallic sounding. I'd go for the studiologic sledge if I were looking for a modern poly VA
Eek!! Plastic disposable chassis!!
what cover tunes?
I saved my money to buy one, then bought a Moog Sub 37 instead....so happy I did!
+blipblip88 until you want to play a chord. LOL
+chieftp the irony lol
Getar Prestaka i
not really irony, just an unfortunate situation if the case arises that he wants to play more than one note.
Apples & oranges. I would rather have polyphony.
James Reeno
and waveforms besides just saw and square.
I actually would use this more for the FM/Wavetable type sounds to compliment my analog gear.
just press randomize sound button :)
Is there also a normal piano sound built in? Can I download a patch for one?
Why??
Why??
LOL !!!
HO HO HO
How do you play so well with such fat fingers?
only 1 osc pr group unlike the older nord
lesds

Anyway, 2 years later...
3 years later, how'd that go? You still playing your A1 every day or what?

virtual analog.... they aren't selling as true analog....
This guy looks like a wise guy

sounds out of phase
Why in the hell would you buy a $1800+ synthesizer to make a freaking Clavinet sound????
Seriously.
+Laszlo Bolender Cause a clavinet tends to only make a clavinet sound.
+Laszlo Bolender with this synth that now comes with a unison you can make much more than a clavinet sound
like the rolland jp8000
A D6 in studio worthy condition would run you upwards of $2500, so...

Overpriced. Does nothing a $30 app on an iPad Pro can do.
