My older brother bought this album and listened to it every day....I didn't appreciate it then like I should have...I was too young...now as a 60 year old this song makes me cry... I love it so much...and the memories it brings of my brother...
When I was 17 I went to see CCR at The Albert Hall (very early 70s) in London (UK) and it was one of the most brilliant days of my life. I still have a drumstick with indents in it from Doug Clifford's performance. I'll never forget it. The tempo changes and guitar licks on Ramble Tamble are just incredible...
Thanks for sharing your experience with me. Unfortunately CCR broke up before I had an opportunity to see them live. I can imagine they were incredible live.
After years of thinking about this, I think Ramble Tamble is Creedence's most under appreciated piece of music, the whole thing is just so unique and encompasses everything supurb about the band, all playing at the top level and just charging up to the crescendo ending......I did used to play it a lot when younger, but only now fully appreciate it's place in music history. I think Fogerty was also trying to say, Hey, Page, Beck, Clapton, Blackmore, it's not just you guys in England who can play with feel. He absolutely nails this with technicality and more importantly, feel and soul.
Thank you Richard. I love this song and I agree with you...this is the way it should be. If you want the song on a CD, try downloading the video with a free utility called YTD Video Downloader. Then use the program to convert the video to an mp3 file which can be burned to a CD.
This is one of the most deep rock songs you you all have, I am working on learning this song on guitar kind uh hard but I love it just like all your music.
First time I heard this song was in my Brother's car 🚗 66 Super Sport 4 on the floor he had the 8 track Stereo attach to the dashboard doing 80 90 miles per hour up in the State of Indiana good old times just listen to the beautiful part music n then the last part going down the road yea Baby Good luck
Definitely a great tripping song. Every time I listen to it I find more little guitar licks. The guitar work is layered to perfection. I just wish their was more… absolutely mesmerizing!
One of their best no doubt. The word some are looking for to describe this tune is “haunting” This tune stirs the emotions. Music is the most powerful force on the planet. Pity music can’t zap away a few politicians and media men we could certainly live without. Tom Fogerty’s song “Goodbye Media Man is very appropriate and just as relevant in 2022. Give it a listen and peruse the lyrics. Cheers folks and may life be sweet to you. Peace.
@@RudolfJvVuuren I saw CCR at Festival Hall Melbourne Australia, early 1972. Tom wasn't there...already quit the band which was sad. Two funny things on the night happened. Heavy rain came and some audience members got wet...roof leaked! 😂 When i left the venue with my girlfriend and my mate i took a short cut over the concrete gutter and tore my exhaust pipe off. Very loud drive home with part of the pipes sticking out the window. 😃😅 Cheers man and do you agree the 60's and 70's were friendlier happy times? Lots of angry people in 2024? Peace.
My dad played CCR a lot when I was a kid. My 3 favourite CCR songs always were, and still are... #3 Lodi #2 Run Through the Jungle # 1 Ramble Tamble. 40 years on from when I first remember them as a part of my life, and the same 3 songs still resonate the clearest.
A little bit of prophecy here in the lyrics actors in the white house! Enjoyed this version in early 70's with earphones and a hit of orange sunshine life couldn't have been any better
Personally feel the presence of worship to Christ as He steps up from His throne and 100-Million Angels bow before Him in the endless place of purest white light I once saw Him in a vision the day my mother was killed; a vision split the world and I saw her walking to Him as He walked to her and they embraced both dressed in pure white gowns, then it rolled up like a scroll and disappeared all in about 6-7seconds I was seven, its as real today as 63yrs ago...!
How can I ever listen to the "short" version ever again, after hearing this! I too have no words as to the middle mesmerizing slower solo now with extra length. Size really does matter....
9:19 "Actor in the White House" - This would happen - for real - ten years after this song was released in 1970. Former actor Ronald Reagan was elected President in 1980.
This is one Creedence song l can play every day, and Never grow tired of it. So full of energy, great guitar , rhythm, great drum work also. My top 3 songs of theirs. perfect cruising ,waking up song.
SONG OF MY LIFE: and extended!!!!! 1:53 the beginning of ecstasy.....the band's best song and one of the best rock songs of all time. THANK YOU FOR THIS VERSION!!!!!
Simply mesmerizing. Coming back from Trat to Bangkok in the car watching out through the window as the set is setting, during that middle part everything turned to magical

One of my favs! I could listen to it all day long. Oh what more great great music this band could've made if they would've continued on through the 70's! But we did get a few years of hit after hit of this band's rock n roll to appreciate always. What a unique sound and rocking good time with CCR! Not a bad song ever did they make. The soundtrack to my youth!!!
Johns voice definitely made his songs much stronger and added feeling understanding and meaning this one for example, really amazing band guys did it for the love of music
YES -- thank you! For years I've played this song over and over and over again, putting it back to the beginning when it ended because I had to have MORE. The only thing I had to watch was not listening to it while driving because as the middle built up that pulsing, rhythmic momentum, things got... well.... faaaasssssst out there on the open road. Man -- a piece of music that makes your heartbeat speed up to try to match it. WOW.
This song definitely had a way of making the tach and speedo rotate further and further to the right! Cannot even start to count up the late night miles racked up on this song. Even as I neared 70 years of age, this song rode with me through the night on 18 wheels. Now retired, I like to listen at night and remember some of those trips and miles that I covered while listening to it. Late night experience that my buddies and I referred to as "Blacktop Boogie". "Down on the road I go" Easier ways to live, but damn it was always a rush. A high without drugs. To those still out there, be safe! Keep the shinny side up and the rubber side down.

As for you all; pls listen to the original with a descent set of headphones...you will be blown away when you close your eyes and just follow the lead-guitar............!!!!!!
I stand to correct myself listening through headphones to your adaptation and extension! Your extended version comes in from the right...than moves to the middle .... and back to the right! And the same again.... and again... but finally at around 7 minutes it seems to go to the natural way this song was recorded! Going from the left..to the middle... than right.. and back again......just listen to the original....on CD or LP with some descent headphones, and you know what I am trying to say! But for all here......ENJOY this wonderful piece of music!!!
I remember it in quadrophonic, where it sounded like the guitar was changing from one to the other and around you. Cosmo's F. was not released in Quadrophonic, but it bloody well sounded good. And today in everyday surround sound, I stick to bloody big stereo speakers with the intended booming sound. So no idea there.
