I used to date a Barnsley ( Carlton ) girl way back in the 1980's for a short while. "Nar then, t'owd cocker." was the way folks would say hello in those parts.
One from Barnsley, the other from Sheffield? Much in common, especially use of the word 'bobar', which I believe is only know of and spoken in these two cities. I still use it now.
