I agree they shouldn’t be as you rightly say, it’s an honour, but that’s for the Associations/Federations to decide and currently the men get paid more for achieving less and bringing less money through the national teams. In terms of club pay, women are rightly paid less due to the smaller audience, I don’t think any women’s footballer would argue that. However, they are also denied opportunities that wouldn’t cost clubs/media outlets anything, that’s the main issue in my opinion.
Mark Craggs check your facts boomer the US federation released a statement saying that the Women’s got paid more for making less revenue per game, the women’s team hired a firm to investigate it and they found out the women got paid more than the men’s on average and only make a profit in 2 years of the last 10, just cuz you align with their sentiments doesn’t make their argument valid, check the facts first

She left America as the best in the world when Ertz was a centre half, all sorts of people win world cups and there not all world class

A woman who is a veteran of several World Cups and a winner, you want to see what kind of character Rapinoe is watch the US match highlights in the last World Cup against a group of part timers from Thailand. She scores something like a 7th or 8th goal and slides across like she scored against equals, her actions and Alex Morgan's counting her 5 goals on her fingers in celebration quickly made the USWNT one of my most hated teams in sports.
Keep hating goal celebrations couch potato, it's a characteristic of those who've never done anything in sport.
Womens football doesn't bring in the same audience as football does. So it's really weird to demand equal pay. The market decides that, thats how capitalism works.
You also can't pay male amateurs the same because they don't bring in the same big audience advertisers and sponsors and tv networks pay for.
Oh well, logic in 2019? These arguments are all based on entitlement. Go grow your sports to the point where you deserve equal pay. It's like staring a new PR company for example and expecting to earn the same as an already established and massive company that has had the biggest clients for decades.
It's like starting a new company that the controlling association has effectively either blocked, banned ignored or discouraged for many years. When a sports growth has been effectively sabotaged for so long, the women are entitled to a fair go now
