Yesterday in downtown Vancouver a man decapitated a man and chopped off the hand of another man at 7am in the morning in a place where offices & restaurants, coffee shops are located. I decided I gotta get out of this demonic mess. This is happening so much more in Canada and I no longer feel safe.

Switzerland borders sound as porous as South Africa’s borders where we get lots of cross border criminals coming in from neighbouring countries like Mozambique and Zimbabwe who commit crimes like car hijackings in South Africa and run off to neighbouring countries to hide or we get far away from us country folks from far off west African, jumping several country borders to get to southern most Africa country in Africa, ie South Africa just come commit crime here as if we don’t have own SAn criminals and sometimes they get fraudulent South African passports to get to their final destination Europe or Canada…at least those become richer nation problems

I live in Georgia. When I was in a taxi trying to retrace my steps to find my lost phone the driver said "Don't worry, you will get your phone back. It's 5 years in prison for stealing a phone. Andrew,
Metro-Atlanta, Georgia was safe, until it wasn't. Caseinpoint; a year ago in My hometown, which is also the hometown of Atlanta Motor Speedway, which was as close to Mayberry as it can be "was" safe, until one morning a neighbor shot and killed four of his neighbors and injured a couple other neighbors. Two, a man and wife were within six-months of retirement.
More recently, a drive-by shooting occurred in the same community.
But, most recently, in east/northeast Metro-Atlanta, another high-school shooting occurred, claiming the lives of two students and two teachers as well as nine people injured.
On an almost weekly basis, in Metro-Atlanta, Georgia; there are multiple instances of shootings and killings.
Yet, when people ask; "is Latin America safe?"
    My reply is:"compared to where?"
"WILL THE LAST PERSON TO VACAT THE UNITED STATES PLEASE TURNOFF THE LIGHTS?"

You have a very self serving attitude. Western governments let you protest or 'express yourself'to the extent that it doesn't threaten their sacred cows. Key issues are a severe housing shortage, soaring rents, overcrowded roads and public transport, and an extreme cost of living particularly since the impact of recent inflation and price gouging. These Middle Eastern countries with very low crime have very low crime because it's not tolerated. Draconian punishments. Hence virtually no crime. Other places like Japan and Singapore -- it's an ethnic thing. Likewise for Scandinavia (if you take out non-white immigrants and the places they live in). But parts of the USA are becoming uninhabitable for law-abiding people -- Chicago and Minneapolis, for example. The USA is interesting in that if you take out non-white violent crime, the stats reduce to European levels.

For many people, the adage "home is where the heart is" still holds true - think family and friends, it's not just about tax savings and money. IMO, the first step when faced with social and economic issues and/or crime in a country is to see whether moving somewhere else within that same country might dramatically improve the situation, prior to to heading for new uncertain shores. The grass is not necessarily greener elsewhere, and although you might indeed have almost zero crime in Oman or Dubai, the caveat is an extremely unpleasant climate most of the year that makes outdoor activities very difficult - not to mention cultural issues that are somewhat asymmetric with what you might be accustomed to in the West. You'll be living in a stuffy expat bubble in such places.
Much of Western Europe is struggling with the adverse consequences of mass migration from third world countries, particularly since ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel (Germany) literally welcomed hundreds of thousands of migrants with open arms back in September 2015, without any background checks whatsoever. Food for thought. What the European politically correct crowd in resolute woke-mode systematically denies, is that a large part of rising crime levels can be directly attributed to the illegal immigrants, most of whom simply do not fit in with our way of life, and many of whom tend to resort to knives when things don't go their way, or because they dislike our freedoms. See what is happening in Germany these days, where the present government does not seem to know what to do about it. At least Sweden and Denmark have now taken decisive action to correct their respective critical situations with regard to this difficult issue.
Because of the highly questionable fully open Schengen borders ("more Europe"...yeah, right), Switzerland is of course no exception to this trend, with much of the crime that occurs here being "imported" from France - think burglary "tourism", or muggers on day excursions in places such as Basel (national crime hotspot), where your situational awareness skills will be essential these days in a city run by people with a soft approach to criminals. It's all relative though, particularly when you start comparing crime rates in various countries. Switzerland is still an extremely safe place to live, particularly in the suburbs. Last but not least, you can legally own handguns in the land of Heidi to keep your home safe if worst comes to the worst. Each to their own, of course.

  • @uhrologe2596
    @uhrologe2596 5 днів тому +2

Switzerland is the best example. The crime rate varies by each Kanton. Those who are left and socialistic have also the highest crime and unrmployment rate and highest tax rate.

Allowing yourself to get raped? Well… it’s frequently a crime. So take those results in context, at the very least. It is still way better to have a slight confusion in the presentation between Slovakia and Slovenia than between Czech Republic and Chechnya :)

Consider smartphone theft statistics as an important metric; you may want to review the figures for the USA and the UK. It appears that smartphone theft is a prevalent issue across Europe as well. Therefore, exercise caution with the data stored on your phone, particularly with biometric information, as such security measures can potentially be compromised.

Never heard of Andorra before I will look more into that country. I am not surprised about the rising and outrage crime in Western countries this has came from years of lack of enforcing the law and always allowing certain people to slip through the cracks. Kind of like how western countries aren't good with customer service because they just don't want to deal with people. So the police in Western countries have caught the same behavior they just don't want to deal with criminals anymore so the end result is chaos and disfunction.

safety or illusion of safety? Not going to mention which country, but some of the countries on the list simply don't allow the news and media reporting on the crime actually happening in the country. What is more dangerous? Being unsafe or illusion of safety?

How are the Middle Eastern countries, "the friendliest, nicest safe places" for women? In Southern Italy I literally shoked local men because I spoke to them as an equal. They couldn't comprehend it. I wonder how long I'd last in a Middle Eastern country.

If you intend to come to South America keep in mind there are many groups of people from different nations already living here so you could ask them about similarities with your own country.
Also right now the dollar is worth around 150% more than usual as people are hoarding it.

i am from Belgium i noticed some regions have extreme crime and other regions have almost none .and by regions i mean small areas like towns or neighbourhoods. it seems like most criminals don't like to move around much they are impulsive people and don't plan their crimes. but the places with high crime are places that are hard to avoid like train stations and big cities. and its spreading there used to be places that were safe 10ish years ago that are dangerous now. like this was this place not far from were i live that used to be quite funny since you had a lot of very conservative Christian old people and a lot of very conservative Muslims living there making things quite strange but now the old people are gone and the crime got out of control.

Thanks for mentioning my beloved Vanuatu🇻🇺 . Most small islands are peaceful and less populated.
The biggest threat to the islands is Mother Nature. Their remote locations keep most away (in regards to relocating).
Low population, more peace (in most cases).
