Tommy Smothers' comedy was both funny and political. He and his brother Dick Smothers were also talented musicians. Here's an excerpt from my 2002 interview with Tommy.

The Comedy Hour was groundbreaking and the brothers themselves were immensely talented. Seeing the shows again now after fifty years (they've been uploaded to YT over the past several weeks) only solidifies that impression.
