    I love Sony cameras but on the budget end, Osmo pocket 3 is the no-brainer pick. Especially if you're new to content. The lack of IBIS on the zv-e10 means you have to be very mindful about your movements and filming. Any beginner is just going to have super shaky footage or weird stabilisation artefacts with the digital stab.

    DJI osmo pocket 3 would be the best bank for your buck! I record my vlogs with it if you guys wanna check it out.
    But for 700$ you get an amazing 4k camera 24-60fps, built in stabilizer, could link to your phone and control it, comes with extra battery, DJI mic 2 which sounds amazing!, and carrying bag! It’s a perfect setup for new/shy vloggers bc you don’t have a huge camera walking around. Totally worth it

  • @Frederikris

    Great and informative video! I'm looking for a new vlogging camera and currently use the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, but I'd like to switch to Sony because I'm not a fan of the gimbal effect on the DJI. I've been considering the Sony ZV-E10 II with the Sony E 10-18mm OSS F/4 lens, as the ZV-E1 is out of my budget. My concern is whether there will be significant shake in the footage since the camera lacks stabilization. Would the Sony ZV-E10 II with the 10-18mm OSS lens be a bad choice?

    • @iamchrisyap
      @iamchrisyap  3 місяці тому +1

      When it’s on the wider end like 10-18, usually the shakes wouldn’t be as noticeable. And if you’re trying to avoid the OSMO pocket’s gimbal look, the slightly camera shakes should be ok for you.
      I used a zv-e10 with Tamron 11-20mm previously, was pretty happy with it.
      I would get a f2.8 lens instead of the Sony f4, either the sigma 10-18 or Tamron 11-20
      The extra depth of field and light would be very helpful

    I been shooting all my vlogs with DJI Osmo using ND filters and then I couldn’t be bothered always working about filters and lighting etc…
    Now shoot in full auto mode with no ND and for UA-cam videos there nothing working with that.
    Not sure why everyone so into cinematic these days?
    I shoot cinematic sequences in my series but the DJI is an absolute game changer for just pulling out my pocket and recording. Also I don’t even use the mics anymore 😆 keeping it so simple.
    As photographers and videographers we worry about all the details but then you see other UA-cam channels that are doing so well and getting crazy views but terrible quality videos.
    Seems as long as viewers are interested no one cares about what we photographers stress about 😆

      DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Bought it for shooting vlog and social media content at our BJJ gym at first but we even used it as the main podcast camera a couple times lol.
      Now that I think of it, I think I'd recommend getting the Osmo Pocket 3 over a full frame camera to start out. Creator combo has everything you need (mini tripod + dji mic) except lighting which I would heavily suggest prioritizing for every beginner content creator.
      Exceptional image quality for such a small device, very versatile with shooting modes, easy switch between vertical/horizontal content, amazing low light performance, can shoot Log etc. etc. like it keeps going on. This baby looking thing is actually a beast

    why do people use ND filters rather than adjust ISO? ISO is light sensitivity right so why not change that

    • @iamchrisyap
      @iamchrisyap  4 місяці тому +3

      You want to maintain the base ISO ideally. That gets you the cleanest footage. The camera sensor is designed to function best at certain ISO

      @@iamchrisyap ah gotcha! Why is it important to keep shutter speed and aperture constant too? Never quite wrapped my head around that

      @iamchrisyap  4 місяці тому +7

      @@matthewjsherman aperture affects the depth of field - how much is in focus.
      And shutter speed for how it captures motion. Higher shutter speed gives you smoother but less realistic/authentic visuals. And it could also clash with any spinning thing that makes it seem like it’s not moving - helicopters, moving cars, fans, etc.

    • @DisturbardEspañol
      @DisturbardEspañol 4 місяці тому +2

      Adjusting ISO is the same as adjusting the volume on your headphones when recording sound just because it sounds quiet. ISO doesn’t affect the light that’s coming into the sensor but your “perception” of the light that’s coming into the sensor. In other words. Keep a low ISO and add light if your scene is still dark, otherwise, you’re going to get grain, or in the recording analogy, you’d get noise floor, rather than clean audio.

    • @EDocWatson
      @EDocWatson 4 місяці тому

      That seems like a good idea. But what do you do when the iso is at 100 and it is still over exposed. That is where ND filters come into play.
