    Tip for driving Keelin, if you have someone who is able to put in the time to practise with you- get insured on their car to practise and pay for less lessons. I had about 25 lessons in the end when with all the practice I did I would say I only needed to pay for 10-15. They are so expensive I'm sure the insurance while you are learning would work out a lot cheaper. Also, best of luck with the bab! you will be such a loving mum.

      as keelin stated - FROZEN VEG IS A MUST
      also uni students tend to have a bad diet but that’s because foods such as pot noodles are 50p and last for ages and you can stock up on them, same with tin foods (and they can be good for you - like soup) and shopping own brands like asda smartprice - like pizza is a £1
      maybe instead of signing up to a gym, go on walks or runs instead and do home workouts (this will be better for time management and uni work as well)
      don’t buy ALL of the uni books, get them from the library ! and if you can’t afford a laptop use the library computers to save money etc.
      don’t take any major necessities - take plastic knives and forks instead of proper ones and just re wash those instead :) and plastic plates + cups which are generally cheaper and also less likely to break !!!
      don’t spend too much on cigs and alcohol if that is your vibe and when going out go on student nights, they’re cheaper and you’ll probs make more friends your age/on socials people with more similar interests to you !!
      and when you commute walk or take public transport if you can !!
      and a lot of the time a vegetarian/vegan diet is often cheaper as meat is so expensive !
      don’t shower everyday, maybe every other day, this is also better for your skin and instead of buying bottled water etc. use it out of the tap
      if I ever want a cup of tea as well, I boil the kettle and used the left over boiled water to wash my pots and stuff
      all of these things also help the planet a little which makes me feel a bit better
      I hope that’s helpful ! sending lots of love your way on your university experience !!
      (from someone who has just graduated 💘)

    The gender pay gap is relative to equality of outcome estimations (e.g. on average men earn X amount and women earn X amount). This mode of calculating does not account for ALL variables, like the fact that certain genders CHOOSE (without force!) different occupations, thereby operating to influence the statistics on ‘gender’ based salary. Hundreds of studies have shown that women tend to, on average, pursue occupations concerned with people (e.g. nurses, teachers etc.) and men tend to pursue, on average, occupations concerned with ‘things’ (e.g. engineering, laborious dangerous jobs etc.) - it just so happens, through no fault of anyones, that people based jobs pay less and ‘things’ based jobs pay more. That doesn’t mean men are at an advantage for choosing those jobs that women, on average, choose not to! Gender is not the only variable by which salary can be compared and divided. Never in this argument do I hear people discussing the fact that women and men CHOOSE their occupations. I am a woman and can choose tomorrow to become an engineer or an astronaut if I wanted, because I live in a egalitarian society based on equality - but instead I CHOOSE to work in the public sector, where I get paid near on nothing, because I like working with people - that is my choice, I am not being financially oppressed by this mythical patriarchy and I’m sick of being told that I am. I am responsible for my choices and subsequent earnings. Likewise, nobody ever discusses the gender ‘pay gap’ relative to women having to stop working due to pregnancy! That’s another argument entirely. I pray that one day women will stop blaming men and claiming they earn more, without proper enquiry into facts underlying differences in wage across the sexes - CHOICE! Sorry for rant - love u Keelin obvs and all ur content - just had to get it out x

    • @KeelinMoncrieff

      Hey girl, this is in relation to different genders working the same job, same position & same responsibilities but getting a different wage - nothing else! 💖

    • @dearbhlar6681

      Sorry, I have to disagree, yes there is one element of selecting a career for yourself but tbh, I find it curious that the jobs which require compassion, care, emotional availability etc (all stereotypical feminine traits) are low paid. Is teaching the next generation not an important job, likewise looking after the sick and elderly? These are very important jobs and the people who do them work hard but society does not value the typical feminine traits and therefore the roles aren't rewarded with a higher salary. This is why the crusty old men doing back office admin roles are paid more than the nurses on the front line. The issue goes deeper than simply personal choice.... Just my 2 cents...

    • @cassidym.7687
      @cassidym.7687 2 роки тому +6

      yeahhh.... the patriarchy isn't a myth and women aren't blaming men alone for the pay gap existing. The pay gap is also related to race and disability as well. Women are not randomly blaming men for earning more, the cause of qualified women not getting jobs or not earning the same as men in the same position is the patriarchy and sexism/racism/ableism that many places around the world including America are based on. You sound like you need to educate yourself more.

      @geebee8313 2 роки тому

      @@cassidym.7687 seriously, please enlighten me on where exactly these pay gaps exist in the western world and how the ‘patriarchy’ is involved? If a women is being paid less than a man for the same exact job and that information comes to the forefront for both parties, it becomes a legal matter. Where are the papers showing that a women in 2022 is being paid less purely by virtue of her being a women, or a disabled person is being paid less purely because they are disabled? What an actual load of shite.
