Aaaaaa I completely forgot I changed the Peacock Miraculous power!! But I did think of an idea for how I can reconcile it. Basically, the Peacock Miraculous' power WAS to create sentimonsters, but the incident at the Guardian Temple deeply traumatized Duusu (hence why the Miraculous 'broke') and changed the Miraculous' power.
Calli, that's really unique! Perhaps when Kwamis are overcome by emotions, like fear, it can drain the Ladybug's suit color for example into black and white, so they can be used for stealth unintentionally?
I mean I was saying how maybe it's one of the other Miraculous items that have that power instead of the Peacock, but maybe that works too, like maybe it was a spell from the book that changed the Peacock's power?
And even explain why Fu got in the ambush cuz he didn't know the peacock power changed, or if he did would think the sentimonster was gone, so he assumed it wasn't being used but the same miraculous that was in his mistakes was there and even changed for his downfall
I really like that, actually. Come to think of it, that works really well with my headcanon that originally, the Butterfly was the one to be damaged, but Duusu took the damage herself to save Nooroo. Since the Butterfly’s power is to give other people powers, it would make sense that Duusu taking Nooroo’s damage would change her own Miraculous’s power.
Is it just me or does anyone find Master Fu's negligence towards the Chat Noir hilarious cuz he's always there, guiding Marionette but he just leaves the cat boy with the power to destroy literally anything he touches without an ounce of supervision. Like Marionette needs to watched over and tutored, but the emo kid with the power of destruction will be FINE
And less than 5 ep if Felix was there to discover about it and stole it from them (is more than 1 because of Nathalie and cuz Felix has a life and tea with his mother outside of the family drama)
In my rewrite I also imagine him belonging to that trope of character who looks young but is actually hundreds years old, and I can imagine him walking in the street and someone gets really confused by looking at him since his white hair and expression marks makes him look like a middle aged man but his face and body shape is of a super fit young man who's in his twenties
"Alright Fu, this is you test to see if you can handle being a guadian" *proceeded to fail so bad that he lost the spellbook, two miraculous, and killed alot of people* "I've carried this burden, and powerful weapons for years. Anyway I'm gonna shove this huge responsibility off on a 14 year old, who I didn't even ask if she wanted to be involved"
"I'm going to train Marinette, who I forced into being a super hero despite the fact that she is an actual child. She is gonna carry this horrible burden of Magic. But the kid I gave a power that can destroy the world? Who has the power of destruction in his hand? Nah, he's on his own."
@@JayMadd13 "Oh no the villain knows who I am so since I do NOT have a backup plan or in the many years of this burden even thought about a sucessor I will, you guessed, shove this responsibility off on a 14 year old without asking her and lose my memory for my convenience to not train her and a consequence to stop being a guardian so the 14 year old girl cannot hand this burden without paying a big price that she did not want"
"I will not only give these 14 year olds, who are strangers I don't know, the power of literally destroying or creating anything they want, but I will also let one of said 14 year olds borrow my rare jewels to her 14 year old friends so that they can also be disadvantaged by de-transforming after 5 minutes of using their powers."
“And not only will I let this 14 years old girl with stalking tendencies carry this horrid burden that can destroy the world, I will go back to my love and live the rest of my life in peace like I didn’t cause the problem in the first place, because I was a child in training that decided to use this powerful jewel for my advantage.”
Yeah like the person needs a certain attribute to be able to wild the specific miraculous even if they have bad motives. It stops others from being able to access a certain miraculous cause they are just not compatible with it.
@@akeelahbruce1821 That's similar to my Miraculous inspired project. Technically, anyone can use my project's equivalent of kwamis but it's extremely draining (both mentally and physically due to how the bonding works) if you don't embody certain attributes because then you and the "kwami" are working like three times as hard to stay transformed because you don't click.
I don't know what is more ironic. That I had been playing Genshin with Kaeya just before watching the video or that this redisign looks like Kaeya would when he was in his 50s - 60s
@@raquelguerra-velascogarcia2653 I just started playing Genshin Impact for the first time last night and I think I've seen like a thousand references to the game in under an hour 💀
Su-Han was 100% correct when he told Ladybug that she and Master Fu weren't ready for the Miracle box. But as per usual, characters who disagree with our protagonists are portrayed as being ABSOLUTELY in the wrong, because reasons.
yes, suhan is someone who is fully trained to be a guardian, he knows all the rules, as well as the perils of Miraculous, but somehow he always had to apologize for the wrong marinette made, ephemeral ladybug humiliates and despises suhan's opinions, while she is the main reason for apocalypse mistakes because of her fear of chat blanc , and the lack of knowledge about teammates, after that episode kuro neko proved suhan right when she made chat noir quit (actually the reason chat noir left it is selfish, but i can see it was because ladybug pushed him away, not Because he loves Ladybug ) Rick and strike back, ladybug made a mistake again because she didn't know chat noir was Adrien so she gave Miraculous to felix Cause of failure, loss, the episode multiplication Suhan called out ladybug and chat noir for their failure, Instead of listening to ladybug and chat noir Again saying it's suhan's fault for not trusting them Omg And somehow suhan had to apologize to the two of them. And cry like a baby At least he's aware of the mistake for not being there to help, but suhan had to apologize to Ladybug who caused all the mistakes
I do think that S4 missed a huge opportunity with doing something interesting with Fu's character by acknowledge Fu being a crappy mentor. They could've tied it into Mari dealing with being the Guardian by starting to emulate his shitty behavior to give her guidance. And Adrein would notice, not be happy and that would be the cause of the friction between them for the season. Things get worse between the two to the point of an outright argument(where Chat brings up Fu's neglect and how he locks him out of the loop.) and Mari realizes Fu was a shitty mentor, loses her respect for him, and wants to do better. That would mean the Thomas/the writers would need self-awareness,which they don't have. And this conflict would make more sense that whatever the fuck S4 was doing.
Callimara: I'm gonna create a dilf. Also Callimara: He's totally selfish and a coward, and he knows what to say, but he will never be there for you when it counts. You really didn't have to go ahead and draw up my exes, now did you?😂
Master Fu to me was never a character, but a plot device. They needed a reason to why two kids would receive magic powers and went like "well, someone could have granted them the powers because that's what happens in all classic magical girls shows". If you delete Fu from existence and think of other excuse like "they bought it on a garage sale without knowing it was a magical item" or other thing the show would barely change...
If they actually bought it without knowing it was a magical item it would actually be better : thoses kids would both mess up because they litteraly have no one to guide them, they would be on their own and have to figure things themselves
I mean... The episode 'Feast' straight up throws Fu under the bus showing that it was his fault the two Miraculous used by the villains were lost by him and possibly the people who properly could've handled it were indisposed from his mess up. Bigger can of worms from in universe reasons and out of Universe writing to open but, yeah... Edit: Also I feel if he had been more of a mentor day one to Marinette and Adrien could have been a little better.
Going over your _entire_ rewrite of Master Fu, I love the fact that you made his character as tragic as possible. It isn't even tragic due to circumstance, it's tragic because he exemplifies so much of humanity's flaws and vulnerabilities. People usually think old = wise mentor, so it might be revelling for the audience to slowly realize that this character they've grown to like due to his initial shallow facade was actually a person that they knew would've condemned in real life. Just, the pure transition from 'happy-go-lucky yet responsible mentor' to 'toxic positive and only responsible because of extreme guilt over past irresponsibility'. The conclusion of his character too - just that cruel one last second of realizing that he may have f'ed up by choosing a teenager to be held responsible over the miraculous, then that next moment of realizing that Marinette was probably much, much more capable than he could ever be anyway, while sounds bittersweet, was the proof that he matured enough to recognize how crappy of a person he was. It's extremely tragic to think that he was never given that chance to redeem himself...but sometimes life do be like that. (Kind of hoping that he won't die right here though because mother of Christ it's an incredibly depressing ending) And maybe this wasn't intentional, but that last moments of telling Marinette to seek out Marianne could be his way of having another mentor for Marinette. It seems quite wrong to place the responsibility on someone from the past, yet given that he literally doesn't know anyone else that was as intelligent and grounded as Marianne is, and that he likely would've gone to Marianne himself in this desperate moment, as irresponsible as it is, it makes sense for him to choose her as another mentor, because even though he thought that Marinette was more responsible than him, she wasn't responsible _enough._ So she needed another mentor - the right person to guide her and Adrien.
I also hope he didn't die DIE but maybe a coma or so cause imagine Adrien need to relieve a trauma he didn't even heal yet, of someone he see as a parent figure dying and probably hiding this cause of his secret identity... Would make sense why he changed sides
@@aliceandrade7164 Coma has some much potential for angst and conflict between Marinette and Adrien; imagine those 2 having two different ways of dealing with all of that: Adrien as Chat Noir sneaks into the hospital and swears that he will find a way for him to wake up, not allowing himself to grieve because there is still a chance. Marinette as a civilian visiting him (maybe she told her parent that hero BootCamp was her taking self-defence lessons from this old master who is now in a coma and doesn't have anyone) and just allowing herself to break down for a moment next to him because from her perspective she can't do anything to help him and now he is gone. And for even more angst make Master Fu aware of what is happening around him, but unable to offer even his normal wise, but crude advice. He can only lay in his hospital bed trapped in his own body with only his thoughts most of the time and now he can only do one thing that he always ran away from, he can only reflect on his past and all his mistakes.
Fun fact! In Chinese culture, being called a turtle is the same as being called a coward. Very fitting for Fu. (For a bit I thought that that’s why the show creators gave him the miraculous then I realized they’re not smart enough for that). I’m also working on a rewrite. In mine, Fu… exists. He makes almost no appearances, and the most he does is give Marinette and Adrien their miraculous, and later giving the empty box (all the miraculous except for ladybug and black cat were lost) and the grimoire, only partially translated. He wasn’t the one who lost the miraculous, it was an ancestor. Still figuring out why he gave the miraculous to kids though… I love this redesign and rewrite! It’s so heartbreaking though.
I believe they’re have a effort to improve this franchise. But sadly, the unwritten rule which labeled as “The kids show” just stopping them to do that and also Ass-truck himself who don’t want to grow up.
@@AvilioAmici Well yes. But you can be fourteen and in middle school. I’m thirteen and will be fourteen later this year in eighth grade. So they could still be qualified as middle schoolers. For some people.
The sad thing is that I get what the writers were trying to go for with Fu, they just failed miserably. His whole shtick is that he's supposed to subvert the mentor trope by being inexperienced, since he never completed his guardian training and was traumatized as a child by Feast. The issue is that the show never follows up on this properly. Some episodes he makes mistakes due to naivete/fear, but then he's randomly incredibly wise and sagely in another episode. Things like him entrusting children with the Miraculous and him favoring Marinette over Adrien could've been interesting plot points, but of course nothing ever comes of it. This show is just never interested in fleshing out its creative ideas, which is why I'm so glad your series exists. Keep up the great work!
If it was meant to a subversion, then it was done badly. If there had been follow up on the consequences of him being a shitty mentor,I'd believe it,but since there never is,I just think the writers/Thomas were going for the mentor trope, but they executed badly, like everything else in MLB. If he's supposed to be the typical mentor, thren have him properly teach them everything they need to know about being a hero, using their Miraculous, and growing as people.
@@infinitedreamer9359 Yeah, pretty much what I said. I don't think Master Fu as a subversion was done well at all, I just get what the writers were going for. In general, what pisses me off about the writing in Miraculous (besides its quality) is that it thinks it's so much more intelligent than it is, and at the same it decides to forsake all of it's interesting creative concepts. You can really feel Astruc's ego permeating through the whole thing, and I agree that they lack self-awareness. It all just reeks of missed potential. For instance, Su-Han was introduced in S4 as a neat contrast to Fu, to show that a guardian with actual training and discipline is much more effective, but also more strict and less sympathetic than Fu was. It'd be a lot more effective if Fu had any anything interesting or likable about him besides his backstory, which already has a lot of issues. SH then comes and goes with very little impact, and it seems season 5 isn't doing anything interesting with him either. He'll probably just show up with an army of monks for the final battle or some stupid shit like that. I like that they're finally doing some unique and creative things with Gabriel and the Miraculous in S5 (it's way less predictable than I thought it'd be) but imo its too little too late. This show has been broken since S3 and now S4 and S5 are stepping on the broken pieces and trying to duck tape them back together.
@@seematahir5970 I don't agree with the subversion stuff at all,I just think they're really that bad doing a mentor character. I'm hoping the stuff about Astruc leaving starting with the next season is true. He has been a detriment to MLB writing wise since the start. It's telling that when Chloe was starting to be fleshed out and maybe building towards a character redemption/growth.,only for that to go in the trash when Thomas thew a fit. Most of the stupid writing decisions of the show are his fault. He might be the idea guy,but that should've been where his influence ended. Like how Hartmann on DP wasn't the main person writing/editing the story,he was only the idea guy. But even if he did leave,it's too late anyway. We would be 6 seasons in(halfway through what is supposed to be a 12 season series) and the writers would be forced to make up for seasons worth of lost time of nothing happening in the plot or characters and figuring out how to clean up Astruc's mess. No person is going to want to sit through 5 seasons of nothing happening just to get to the good stuff. I think the best thing that could happen to MLB is a hard reboot. Do a hard reboot and give it to someone who has a clear direction and hire good writers. Also, keep Astruc the fuck away from it.
@@infinitedreamer9359 Agree on all the Astruc stuff, fuck that guy, but I do think Miraculous has pockets of good writing buried under all the crap. I still maintain that Fu was conceived as a subversion tho. He just comes as really inexperienced at times, and he is constantly shown running away from his problems rather than confronting them, like in Feast. The aforementioned contrast with Su-Han, i.e. an actual Guardian, made it really obvious to me. Its ultimately up to interpretation, and I still think it was incredibly poorly done, that's just my take on it.
i can absolutely confirm that, as a parisian, no one would do that. in fact, we go out of our way to beat the elderly with 3-year old baguettes. congrats marinette, all of us are clearly awful people and not deserving of miraculous!!
Oh my god, that is such a gut punch of a story. I hope in this hypothetical version Marianne has moved on but is still saddened and like can connect with the cat and ladybug on this person they knew different versions of. It feel like an activity the heroes would do in their civilian forms (maybe one detransforms and waits in a room while the other one talks as Marianne refuses to talk to kids in silly get ups or something).
I guess being the guardian of the miraculous has some perks. You can live for nearly 200 years (or more) You look great no matter how old W I S E Great dancer
The time loop in Evolution where the reason he chose them is because they visited him in the past and *told him that they chose them in the future* is such a cop out too.
Calli, you would be happy to know that you are not alone in the sentiment with Master Fu. He is one of the characters who is at the top of my least favorite Miraculous characters of all time. Not only did he decide to make two children wield the most powerful Miraculous of all time (which is hypocritical since he was a kid forced to a new lifestyle without his consent), but also was barely a mentor figure to begin with. He never trained them like he should have, leading to mistakes that he could have prevented if he interacted with them. He prioritize training Ladybug and not including Cat Noir, even though he selected BOTH of them to protect the city and are suppose to be partners, you know, yin-and-Yang. And worst of all, he chose to forgo going to the Guardian Temple where he could have gotten allies that could defeat Hawk Moth quickly, but instead force the responsibility of Guardian to Marinette when he shouldn’t have to! There were more Guardians he could have given back to! Oh, and did you know it was implied Master Fu never told Marinette that when she passes on the Guardianship, she’ll lose all her memories? I feel like she should have known that so she would actually think deeper if she wanted to be the Guardian or not. For Heaven sake, she shouldn’t have even been the Guardian since there are more back at the temple! Just grab the Horse Miraculous and teleport there yourself! With all that aside, I do like the redesign of Master Fu. I think it’s uncommon for mentor characters to look old yet still look fit and good at his age. The only character I can think of that falls under this trope is Eda Clawthorne from The Owl House, but I don’t know if she can count since she’s technically in her 40s while Master Fu is almost two hundred years old! I also like how you still utilize some of the traits in the show, mainly his cowardice, but also add a little more like his selfishness. No human being is perfect nor a 100% complete saint, and Master Fu shouldn’t be perfect. Yet the narrative seems to want us to think so. In my opinion, it felt like his character arc was incomplete with the potential of growth and development he could have had. And I absolutely love the idea of Fu becoming a surrogate father to Cat Noir, mostly because I love found family of sorts. It would just make his death much more impactful to him.
Master Fu is probably the shittiest executed mentor character I've seen. In addition to all the stuff Calli said, we never see him teach either of his students anything of worth. Not how to fight properly, teamwork, using tactics, nothing about Miraculous lore or how to use their Miraculous powers, how to deal with superhero responsibilities, or even just guiding them outside of the suit on growing as people and helping them learn from their mistakes. He's just useless.
I'm not saying the mentor character has to perfect, but you at least have to show them being competent at their job and the show fails at that. If they had shown him doing his job an actually teaching his students(and not favoring one over the other),it would've actually helped Adrien and especially Mari's characters because we would've gotten to see them slowly grow into being heroes and earn the skills that aren't pulled out of their asses. I do think that S4 missed a huge opportunity with doing something inteteresting with Fu's character by acknowledging Fu being a crappy mentor. They could've tied it into Mari dealing with being the Guardian by starting to emulate his shitty behavior to give her guidance. And Adrien would notice, not be happy and that would be the cause of the friction between them. Thing get worse between the two until Mari realizes Fu was a shitty mentor and decides to not make the same mistakes.
@@infinitedreamer9359 yes, that’s what I thought season 4 would do too! I might make a oneshot of that though. If the show won’t write it, we will You want me to credit you when I do that?
This is GOLD, for godness sake, now this story feels like something that deserves stay awake in the midnight just to see a new episode. Nine redisigns and this is already glorious
I absolutely loved the story you did for fu, I was almost tearing up cause of how much more of a person you made him, he feels like the opposite of adrian in a way (& not because of comparing him with marian to them), him feeling like a failure is amazing since in the show he is the reason for all the bad stuff from the beginning, but here he just runs away from his problems, the add on of the mask was honestly genius cause it can also be shown as him still running away, covering/hiding his face away from others even when trying to help to little to late, & that ending when he finds out marinette is actually a little kid is beautiful, realizing he put all this pressure on her rather than just handing her the miraculous cause why not, I actually felt emotion when he was gone here than in the series, his final moments could be taken as, "I'm not running from my past anymore"
To add on - I can't even blame him too much considering yes, he also never asked to be one of the keepers. I'm assuming Calli's using the same backstory of when he had to train like the monks in which they subjected a child to take over incredibly important artifacts as a way to practice discipline (which to me is honestly just as irresponsible), so while it doesn't justify all his actions, I can definitely see why he became like this due to that sort of childhood. I can also see why he rather be immature since he never had a proper childhood - Of course he wants to indulge in a fantasy, since the reality of his previous environment didn't let him be a kid every once in a while. Which is also why I love the addition of Marianne - That's when his past is no longer an excuse, and that's when we, and he himself, have started realizing that it wasn't all just the past that made him this selfish and uncaring.
I like to imagine users of the turtle miraculous live longer, because the whole "turtle immortality" thing and I love the whole Miraculous users gain traits of their kwami over time thing.
This would also help in 2 things in your rewrite: How far Hawk Moth was going for this plan and the threat he was by using Fu's own fear and even trauma against him is cruel and cunning but also the first steps to Adrien's betrayal and lost of himself since by Fu being like a father to him and lost just like his mother, that was quite recent and still not healed from, would lead in dealing with this trauma again and maybe in the consequence of him helping Gabriel cuz if it can help his mother sure it can help Fu and even if Gabriel put the fault in Ladybug saying it could be a training that has gone wrong or her incompetence
Calli, I've never commented on a video of yours before but I'm such an avid lover of your work on Wildward and your Miraculous Rewrites, which is how I found you. Something about your tone and content makes me want to cuddle up by a warm fire with a cup of Chai tea. I've always found your voice so lovely and grounding, and find myself revisiting your videos when I'm just having a rough day. All of this to say: thank you for being you, and for doing all of this excellent work. Stay safe, to you and anyone reading this ❤
"He doesn't do any creepy or stupid things like Marinette"... Except neglecting one of the Miraculum holders he had chosen himself and putting everything one the shoulders of one random teenager. Oh, and causing the death of entire monastery. Aang did similar thing in Avatar, except far less directly, and felt guilt and remorse for it. Fu just feared spirits of the monks haunting him in form of weird white fabrics... I think writers unintentionally make him a real jerk by showing his thoughts about him killing so many innocent people this way.
Don't forget that Fu pushes the idea that black cat miraculous holders are stupid, untrustworthy, and need to be "controlled" and kept on a leash by their ladybug counterpart to be useful! Imagine if Astruc made Adrien a girl and Marinette a boy with that shit, so many more people would be able to see how toxic and abusive that is. Geniunely, as a child abuse survivor, I find it funny how Astruc managed to write a realistic abusive relationship within Chat Noir & Ladybug without even realizing it. (Again, as a child abuse survivor, even Gabriel's abuse falls flat for me, despite recognizing the isolation and emotional neglect he puts his son through. Somehow Astruc managed to fail with intentionally writing abuse yet succeeded in writing the "soulmate" couple as abusive.) Marinette is a stalker and Ladybug emotionally abuses her partner yet because she appears like an angel to everyone else, no one, not even the fans, believes she could do wrong. And Master Fu enables that behaviour!! With that said, the redesign and rewrite is significantly better! Love that you actually put an effort into incorporating Fu's culture and time period in his design. The final scene had so much more emotional impact than the canon version. The only thing is that personally, I'd have liked to have Chat Noir there too - both as a identity reveal scene so they could both be on equal footing still as miraculous guardians, and bc man.... man. Let the poor boy be there for Fu's final moments. It's soul crushing to only hear of your parental figures death AFTER their death, I can't imagine how much worse it'd be knowing he died in action. Adrien deserves a little closure I think.
Hey Cali, when you finish with Miraculous Ladybug, could you make a rewrite series with Naruto characters, im not saying that they are terrible-writted but also deserved a little better treat, especially the female ones.
Would you be willing to do a rewrite for bleach the characters are amazing, but suffer from a lack of character building and kubo wasting their potential
a thing i'd personaly change in Sakura is to make her the character who thought everything was gonna be just fun and games until the first dark moment in the series and then works to survive/make sure their friends survive. I think this kind of character adds good shock value for the first arch, and it's actually canon complaint, since, despite what the series may lead us to believe, the canon reason why Sakura became a ninja was because she thought her civillian parents were way too boring. She's also the only character in the cast who comes from a civilian family, so makes sense that others would know what to expect but she wouldn't. Would love a "this isn't fun, my friends almost died" in Zabuza's arch and then for her character growth to start from there.
This backstory was gorgeous, along with the art itself!! at first i was just excited "holy crap callimara made master fu hot as hell" but the backstory was just so beautiful and well thought out i literally shed a tear when he died... the vulnerability and regret he had to suffer was horrible but it made his character that much more relatable. this has seriously gotta be one of your best rewrites yet!!! thank you for a beautifully rewritten miraculous callimara!! cant wait for the next episode :D
You know what would have been cool for Master Fu? For him to work somewhere that both Marinette and Adrien frequent, maybe even help out at. He could get them to do a bit of customer service (for them to get better working with different people for hero work) and give them advice. He could watch them to see their potential and what Miraculous would work best for them. He could actually assist them, teach them things. And Adrien would finally get a good parental figure.
I think I found a quote that fits this version of master fu "I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. But at this moment I would not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them. Do you?"
I'm sorry, but I'm just LIVING for how exasperated you sound over Master Fu's idiocy throughout the video. XD It's a past time of mine to listen to youtubers rant about things they're passionate about, positive or negative. Great video! And I can't wait to see what other rewrites you do for Miraculous Ladybug (why are you not one of the show's writers lol). I am also eagerly waiting for the next Wildward video. (Calling it, next two aegis users that are in the lineup are a songbird and a wolf)
Bro the fact that he, someone who was literally traumatized by the kwami’s, (without the permission of their parents, mind u) gave the power of the universe to two MIDDLE SCHOOLERS. like, that’s pretty cruel, right?? They can’t possibly comprehend the responsibility and consequences of having these powers, and he, as an experienced elder, should KNOW that.
I haven’t watched a lot of Ladybug but I’ve been enjoying watching your redesigns! This one hit hard, the ending was sad and made a lot of sense from what you described!
Okay, finished the video and once again: BRILLIANT! Seriously, someone should give you the MLB rights. Just give it to you so you can fix it and make it what it should have been/was hinted at in that initial 2D trailer.
The way Master Fu is portrayed kinda makes me want Gabriel and Natalie to win, because at least Gabriel and Natalie's intentions are a lot purer, and them receiving those consequences? They'd have to be Heroes, like Gabriel once was, to solve what he caused. THIS REDESIGN WAS SO AWESOME!!! It actually makes him feel like an actual person inatead of just a Little Trinket used to try and put plasters/band-aids on lot holes that require entire bandages (also Daaaamn, you really Did make him a GILF, LOL, though that also kinda slightly horrifies me because hwAT?! a GILF I LIKE?! Oh boy....)
tbh i love the love square, it's my toxic trait. however, i do agree that master fu is a wild character and things would've been much better and smoother if he talked things through with both kids.
I actually felt bad for Master Fu. He said so himself he didn't want the job and was forced into it as a child. Everything else I agree with so much I could sign an oath.
Is it just me, or does Calli’s version of Master Fu looked like a GILFED up version of human Garmadon from Lego Ninjago? I can’t be the only one seeing it right? 😂😂😂
Master Fu giving Mari and Adrian the miraculous made so little sense to me that I literally invented a whole new character and subplot to reconcile it in the fancomic I'm working on. He is basically the son of the current guardian being trained to be the next guardian and as part of that training, he needs to learn to use the butterfly miraculous. He akumatises someone and can't take it back because he wasn't quite ready like he thought to use it and, after trying to fix his mistake a few times himself, he gives his two friends the two most powerful miraculous without revealing anyones identity, including his.
Was it intentional to make this whole redesign seem like a complete and utter meme 😂 Just the fact that your first thought was to create a GILF out of this absolute raisin of an old man is so outrageously funny to me i love it 🥲
I think this is a great way to do it! And the ending gives people(the kids watching, remember a kids show?) hope that he might be alive somewhere, somehow. Even if the adults know he’s long gone. And it just makes so much more sense! And it’s way less creepy😅
The only thing I would add to make it hurt a little more would be to show Fu losing his memories. One, because it will add to the fact that Marinette will eventually go through the same. And two, because it's cruel, he finally did one thing right by protecting Marinette, he finally had some mental peace about the miraculous incident, and yet, by making Marinette the new guardian, he condemned himself to die lost and afraid, without never knowing anything about how and why he was there, hurt and dying, he just wakes up in agony and there's this sobbing little girl who he doesn't know but somehow feels he can trust, and he apologizes to her as his last words, as if a part of him, even with his memories forgotten, knows in his soul that this fate is something that she will also share. So he apologizes, without knowing why, and dies.
Honestly, I love your idea of Master Fu a lot more. The design AND his rewrite. If there's one thing I love, it's a deep character. And he's a deep character that you wrote.
I seriously thought they would kill the man off the show if they did it would be meaningless knowing how much of a terrible character he is, but you ate it up i srsly love how you write these characters with each having an important role to the story and making it so emotional 🫂💕
i notice the writing team writes themselves into a corner, then instead of editing it they just keep going. they forgot to make Adrien even meet master Fu, this is why i love Adrian bc i feel so bad for his writing and neglect by the plot, yet he is related to the most powerful villians and has an actual backstoru
You did an amazing job I know I’m dead wrong but throughout the whole entire speed paint I was just looking at his caked up butt😭💀 like I just couldn’t look away himbo got me hooked
Callimara you storytelling genius. You have succeeded in making me feel incredibly sad over a character I didn’t even know existed until 26 minutes ago. Well done with the redesign on this one!!! The new story is so tragic and the ending so bittersweet that I can’t reconcile this character with the canon one. It’s so good and contains so much tasty angst!!! Extraordinarily well done!!!
And another thing Randy Cunningham 9th grade ninja got right, Randy did get a mentor in the form of the sentient centuries-old book, sound familiar? Tikki and Plagg could have become their mentors (Tikki anyway, Plagg would just half-ass his lessons) and try and teach new techniques and tricks (like Chat Noir suddenly having an umbrella being a thing he learns) even just training in combat that would help them not become living punching bags.
I couldn't help but chuckle when you went on the Master Fu is bad rant, reminded my of Cyrus the Great as you're both right about the guy, honestly, Marinette teaches him more then other way around. Him not knowing who Marinette and Adrian are could be Fu giving himself plausible reason to not fix his mistakes and face his past by taking their miraculous as he can delude himself into believing they're adults with good heads on their shoulders, despite the fact both don't really grow when they transform, so I can imagine Wayzz being clear with his observations of the fact both are the size of young teens, and in his continued disappointment with his holder for continuing to run and hide from his problems and responsibilities as, as far as they know, the only remaining master. Also, could there be a sub-plot where we see him searching around the city for traces of his lost love?
Honestly I think the relationship would be way better if they knew eachothers identities like imagine this. The reveal happens and Marinette and Adrian instantly get together, and it's good for a while, but then slowly they (mainly Marinette) notice discrepancies between the person in front of them and the image of them they have in their head. Like can you imagine the drama that would come out of that?!
Oh my gosh. Chills. Literal chills. You are such an Amazing storyteller, and an amazing artist! Thank you so much for putting so much effort into your videos, you’re amazing! Keep it up!
The shows name: Miraculous Tales Of Ladybug AND Cat Noir aka Miraculous Tales Of Marinette AND Adrien The show itself: Miraculous Tales Of Ladybug & Marinette
Honestly that’s really sad, I wonder how you’ll make Adrian[Char Noir] react to Master Fu’s ‘death’, considering that he was somewhat of a father figure to him. I think that would hurt a lot. I can only imagine the guilt he now has because he wasn’t there to help both Master Fu and Ladybug. That’s a lot to handle, but it’ll either be sobering or blinding for him [Adrian].
I love your work so much. Your redesigns, your Wildward series, and your rewrites are all so intruiging and beautiful. I clicked this video as soon as I noticed the notification, and I know it's gonna be amazing. 💕💕
I think the most important part of the original master Fu is that he was supposed to be a failure of a guardian and mentor, but it was just conveyed horribly. Kinda like our MC's problematic tendencies...
So is that also how the bee's power changed from venom to the spying power you gave it?
Is it just me or does anyone find Master Fu's negligence towards the Chat Noir hilarious cuz he's always there, guiding Marionette but he just leaves the cat boy with the power to destroy literally anything he touches without an ounce of supervision. Like Marionette needs to watched over and tutored, but the emo kid with the power of destruction will be FINE
How bad is Adrien’s life that the lazy, selfish, cheese loving cat god of destruction is the best parental influence he has?

The show would've lasted two seconds if Gabriel and Nathalie helped Master Fu cross the street before Marinette and Adrien did.
😂😂😂 actually it would have lasted a season. At most 14 episodes.

And less than 5 ep if Felix was there to discover about it and stole it from them (is more than 1 because of Nathalie and cuz Felix has a life and tea with his mother outside of the family drama)

Master Fu to me was never a character, but a plot device.
Randy Cunningham 9th Grade Ninja: a shadow drops the magical mask and an instruction manual on this kids room, somehow this works much better. 🤷♂️

Oh yeah
(Kind of hoping that he won't die right here though because mother of Christ it's an incredibly depressing ending)
And maybe this wasn't intentional, but that last moments of telling Marinette to seek out Marianne could be his way of having another mentor for Marinette.
@@aliceandrade7164 Coma has some much potential for angst and conflict between Marinette and Adrien; imagine those 2 having two different ways of dealing with all of that:
Adrien as Chat Noir sneaks into the hospital and swears that he will find a way for him to wake up, not allowing himself to grieve because there is still a chance.

Still figuring out why he gave the miraculous to kids though…
I love this redesign and rewrite! It’s so heartbreaking though.
Dang, all the things this show couldve been if only the writers had put in actual effort

I literally cried. You rewrote a trash character whom I hated, and made me emotional when he had good story arcs and personality. I'm so impressed.
Then they make Su-Han look bad whenever he points out that Fu isn’t the world’s most perfect master
Don't get me wrong, that backstory hit deep... BUT ARE WE NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT HOW THIS MANS THICKER THAN A BOWL OF OATMEAL??

The time loop in Evolution where the reason he chose them is because they visited him in the past and *told him that they chose them in the future* is such a cop out too.
it is, especially since he wouldn't know their real identities at the time!
Fu has been yassified and can now be a Gilf 👁👄👁
I forgot that Master Fu existed. Yeah I know that whatever you do, it will be better than his actual character.
I agree with you that if the writers didn’t know what to do with Master Fu, then maybe it’s best to kill him off. I like your version.
Stay safe, to you and anyone reading this ❤
Chai not chai tea 💀💀
Same here man.
thank you so much! that's very kind of you 💕🥺
"He doesn't do any creepy or stupid things like Marinette"...
Holy damn I forgot about that part
Callimara: *uploads a video*
Her fans:*Come at the speed of light*
🏃♀️💨💨💨
Gotta go fast
im one of them
Hey Cali, when you finish with Miraculous Ladybug, could you make a rewrite series with Naruto characters, im not saying that they are terrible-writted but also deserved a little better treat, especially the female ones.
I don't watch Naruto but God I agree
Would you be willing to do a rewrite for bleach the characters are amazing, but suffer from a lack of character building and kubo wasting their potential
@@rajaytaylor5072 hell yeah!!!!
a thing i'd personaly change in Sakura is to make her the character who thought everything was gonna be just fun and games until the first dark moment in the series and then works to survive/make sure their friends survive.
YESSS
This backstory was gorgeous, along with the art itself!! at first i was just excited "holy crap callimara made master fu hot as hell" but the backstory was just so beautiful and well thought out i literally shed a tear when he died... the vulnerability and regret he had to suffer was horrible but it made his character that much more relatable. this has seriously gotta be one of your best rewrites yet!!! thank you for a beautifully rewritten miraculous callimara!! cant wait for the next episode :D
thank you so much! 💕💕
I think I found a quote that fits this version of master fu
"I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. But at this moment I would not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them. Do you?"
i always hated that he was too old to be a miraculous holder... like bro it enhances your everything
This one hit hard, the ending was sad and made a lot of sense from what you described!
the fact that multiple people felt the need to make rewrites and redesigns of almost every character in MLB is just… wow.
someone please get this girl a team to make the rewrite, holy shit. also HOT GRANDPA
No
@@tonirmspicer no 😥😥??
Okay, finished the video and once again: BRILLIANT! Seriously, someone should give you the MLB rights. Just give it to you so you can fix it and make it what it should have been/was hinted at in that initial 2D trailer.
Your art and absolute creative ideas are so interesting and inspiring! Your art has improved so much, I am so happy I discovered your channel. 😁
thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear this 🥰
Everyone: How will you rewrite Master Fu?
Cali: DEATH!
😇😇😇
WHY IS HE SO HOT?!
Seriously though, I just LOVE what you did for his rewrite and words are missing right now to describe how I feel about it.
Someone get Cyrus the Great, someone made an actually *good* Master Fu! I actually felt sad for Fu hearing your rewrite, you did amazingly!
Mhm!
thank you!!
And he's a deep character that you wrote.
thank you so much!
dang, this rewrite got me in the feels 😭
Your Master Fu was the best redesigning/redrawing seen ever for me. Congratulations.
thank you!! :D
Calli:
I hate this man with every inch of my body.
Also Calli:
Alright and for his redesign im going to make him a hot gilf no questions ask.
I seriously thought they would kill the man off the show if they did it would be meaningless knowing how much of a terrible character he is, but you ate it up i srsly love how you write these characters with each having an important role to the story and making it so emotional 🫂💕
thank you! 🥰
i notice the writing team writes themselves into a corner, then instead of editing it they just keep going. they forgot to make Adrien even meet master Fu, this is why i love Adrian bc i feel so bad for his writing and neglect by the plot, yet he is related to the most powerful villians and has an actual backstoru
The end. *chef's kiss*. Gotta appreciate a good tragic character that just punches you in the stomach and brings you to tears.
You did an amazing job I know I’m dead wrong but throughout the whole entire speed paint I was just looking at his caked up butt😭💀 like I just couldn’t look away himbo got me hooked
nobody can resist cake 🎂
This Master Fu gives me Gandalf and Dumbledore vibes
I got webs from wof and the alolan professor oak!
Or Mr. Miyagi vibes.
I’m crying now because it’s just that amazing
I'm so happy to hear that classic: HEEELLO! from every video
I really, really loved this design. Might make fanart even
Oh please, at least Pink Dimond was participating in the war.
Oh my! Master Fu made Pink Dimond look better!
As a bisexual, PLEASE give me the simpable character art. I'll try to pitch in my own art for Starbourne.
Not even one second here and I already love it ❤I absolutely agree with whatever Callie say💕
thank you! 🥰
So true 😁
Kyoshi: "How do I look so young? Quite simple. A complete vegetable diet, 12 hours of sleep a night, and lots and LOTS of makeup."
The three minute rant at the begining is worth the like alone.
Keep it up!
aaa thank you so much! 🥰💕
Your writing is beautiful, you’ve got me in tears
thank you! 🥰
The shows name: Miraculous Tales Of Ladybug AND Cat Noir aka Miraculous Tales Of Marinette AND Adrien
The show itself: Miraculous Tales Of Ladybug & Marinette
Honestly that’s really sad, I wonder how you’ll make Adrian[Char Noir] react to Master Fu’s ‘death’, considering that he was somewhat of a father figure to him. I think that would hurt a lot. I can only imagine the guilt he now has because he wasn’t there to help both Master Fu and Ladybug. That’s a lot to handle, but it’ll either be sobering or blinding for him [Adrian].
"in my opinion master f*** is garbage"
-Cyrus The Great
Is he a baker in your timeline because he got CAKE 🍰
"I'm gonna make him hot" YAAAAAAS!! YOU KNOW WHAT WE WAAAAANT!!!
😌💅
"Are you pink diamond? Hmmm?!" OOF BRO
Okay, but like, can we talk about how fine this gilf is-
I love it when calimara gets really mad about the bad writing of a character, I find it so funny 😂
I love your work so much. Your redesigns, your Wildward series, and your rewrites are all so intruiging and beautiful. I clicked this video as soon as I noticed the notification, and I know it's gonna be amazing. 💕💕
thank you!! 🥺💕
So your Fu is Howl from Howl's Moving Castle. I accept this.
Lmao they way you say *"KILL HIM"* is so funny 🤣🤣
I think the most important part of the original master Fu is that he was supposed to be a failure of a guardian and mentor, but it was just conveyed horribly. Kinda like our MC's problematic tendencies...
